I hired this group for a beach picnic corporate event Aug 19th. Nothing short of an amazing vendor to use for this style need or any needs. I was hosting a 30+ person team beach party. The communication was great with the entire team: sales rep, the prep team, Chefl, and accounts. My needs were met mostly overall, even though we did over serve way to much food I tried to cut back on, and was told to keep it - it was a per person headcount that matters, I personally did not want to over serve and toss any food in the trash - but they did assure me they would donate it whatever was left and we did have some. They even took liberty to box it all up at the end of the night and pass out what they could. Our two servers during the event were SO nice and helpful. The company set up and tore down so all I had to do was enjoy the event and provide to my team. They served my drinks, kept the food full all for a 4 hour event. They work hand in hand with Santa Monica Picnic Co, which was the set up with chairs and tables to make this event totally amazing on SM beach. The event went so well, and everyone loved it. read more

I just used Vucacious Catering for my wife's 50th birthday party. The food was amazing and they could not have been more kind and helpful. We also added on a bartender and she was great as well. I would definitely use them for any catering needs in the future. Very easy to work with. read more

I worked with Kim and her team for a breakfast event that had moving targets, timing and quantity changes, and continuous quote adjustments. All changes were made seamlessly and her team did a phenomenal job following up on my numerous emails and phone calls. Very fairly priced as well with an exceptional onsite staff. Could not recommend this team enough and will keep them in mind for events in the future! read more

Thank you to Vicarious you and your team who helped with the a memorial service event. Kim was really responsive, and just took care of everything. She was very accommodating, making some last minute changes for us. Esmeralda, one of her staff working the event was also very easy to work with and professional. We were so, very glad to have their help and not have to worry about all of the details. It gave us the ability to be present at the event, and not preoccupied with hosting in those ways. We were in very good hands. read more

Amazing service, kindness and professionalism! Everyone was pleased with food quality . I would Highly recommended this company .

This year I was in charge of organizing our company holiday party. We ended up going with Vucacious Catering and I'm so happy we did. From day one, Shyer Storti was beyond amazing. She answered every question I had, and I had MANY. The whole process was so easy that I really started thinking this is too good to be true lol. To top everything off, the food was excellent! It was delicious and there was a lot of it. I can't say enough good things about them. I can't wait to have them cater for us again. Thank you Shyer for being amazing! read more

Overpriced, small portions & just OK food. Chicken skewers were very dry. $450 ice cream bar was a complete joke, with maybe $30 worth of toppings & ice cream. To top off the experience a 20% service charge, for no service, on top of the set up fees, oh and a $40. fuel surcharge. read more

Chef Kim heads up an exceptional catering company in Santa Monica. Both the food and service is outstanding, and having worked with her and her team on a few events as a planner, I can say I am never disappointed! She does as amazing a job with an all-appetizer reception as she does with a sit-down dinner. My clients (and me personally) have always raved! Working within varying budgets has always been a strength, and with different options for catering, it is her attention to detail that sets Vucacious apart. Their use of fresh, local, organic ingredients has meant that every menu is more delicious than the last. Let her get creative with Vietnamese fusion and you will not be disappointed! Can't say enough how much I look forward to each meal and occasion with Vucacious. read more

I am a production manager and have used Vucacious Catering twice now as our food stylist for a couple commercials. The team at Vucacious is extremely helpful and communicative. Since this was not your typical catering order, we were required to have several pre production calls and examples of their work. Anytime I emailed the team or picked up the phone - I was always taken care of immediately and there were no surprises. On the day of both of the shoots, our stylist came on time with more than enough setting's and food. They stayed on set with us all day to help re-set the food and keep it looking nice. Vucacious is now our go-to and I in fact am in the middle of working with them on our 3rd commercial. Excited to work with them again. read more

We had Kasey and Kim cater our Open House in our new office. We wanted a cocktail style event with heavy appetizers and a bar, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service we experienced! This complimented very well with the outcome of the event. From the planning to execution, every aspect of the event was well thought out. Our guests commented on the creative display and array of appetizers and the best part is, we didn't run out of food! The team they sent out was Kyle (chef), Shannon (server) and Mark (bartender), all who worked professionally and efficiently that night. Our guests were well taken care of and were never hungry nor thirsty. They're the best team! I can't wait to plan another event for our office and have Vucacious Catering as our go-to pick! read more

Let's do it again (and again and again) Our thanks to Vucacious Catering for making two at home events great! My wife decided to celebrate a major milestone in her life twice in one week and with the help of Vucacious, both parties were great(a brunch and a dinner). Both the brunch and dinner were small events(no more than 13 people). The food was wonderful and the drinks were great. Our child(9 years old) even got to help do some of the prep and she loved being involved and watching the Chef's work in our kitchen. Our guest were impressed with the presentation and how tasty the food was. Now we are thinking of the next event we should celebrate and have Vucacious back! From planning to set up to clean up, we can whole-heartedly say we would hire Vucacious again. We loved the food and we also greatly appreciated the professionalism, creativity, and responsiveness. And hats off to Kim, Kasey, Jenny, and Freddy. read more

We used Vucacious Catering for a corporate team meeting in Santa Monica and they were a pleasure to work with! From the start, Ron was extremely helpful and responsive - even with just a week's notice, he was able to ensure we were all squared away for our event. He really was a pleasure to work with and made the whole process very easy for me. Even though I wasn't able to be at the event, I felt extremely confident that we were in good hands. The team greatly enjoyed the food and drinks and loved having the bartender (Mark) on hand to help! Highly recommend Vucacious and will definitely use them again for future events in the LA area! read more

Vucacious Catering - Beautiful party arrangement - Caterers Near Me - Santa Monica, California

I recently used Vucacious to cater a work event (a multi-day academic research workshop for 40+ people). I could not be happier! The food was delicious, creative, and filling, the service was awesome, and Shyer worked with me to help me get an amazing menu in my price range. She and the rest of the team were more than accommodating of my university's complex reimbursement rules, which was such a relief. I hope to use them again very soon and highly recommend them to anyone. read more

I had an incredible experience with Kim and her Vucacious from start to finish with our office holiday party. I had put out the call for several other vendors, who came back with 2-3 appetizers and a dessert tray for my budget. Kim gave me a huge spread, full service staff, rentals, all for the price that the other caterers gave me a really sad menu. Kim was also a master improviser. We had scheduled an outdoor event during the week of the LA-Bel Air fires. *She* called *me* to see if I wanted to reschedule the event. I feel like most people would be less-than-generous with an act of god like this, but Kim was great, and we rescheduled for a couple weeks after. Little did we know just how freezing and windy the outdoor space would be on that date--but Kim showed her professionalism again and we revamped and brought the party inside. This doesn't even get to the food, which Kim prepares very well in a spot without cooking apparatuses. The food was flavorful, the desserts were insane (I had several for breakfast the next day) and everyone else felt strongly about the food too! I would highly recommend Kim and her team for your event. She'll make something work even in less-than-ideal circumstances, and make it work with flying colors! read more

DELICIOUS & HEALTHY FOOD, PLUS AN ATTENTIVE WAIT STAFF & HELPFUL PLANNERS I have catered three parties in the last two years with Vucacious. The first was a 100+ guest luncheon for my mother's life celebration. The staging was tricky because there was a memorial service later followed by a buffet luncheon. The second was a double baby shower for two of my nieces, three generations on the patio. The third was an open-house reception for family and friends. During each of these, special attention was paid not just to yummy food, but food that was appropriate for the guests and time of the event. Each was beautifully executed. Call them, tell your planner your dreams, and be prepared to have a fun time at your our event. I'm not sure if I call Vucacious for our guests or for ourselves. read more

Kim catered a weekly lunch that my firm provides on 3/23/18. She served the following: March Premium Asian Market Salad Kim Chi Fried Basmati Rice Asian Fusion Soba Noodles Asian Spice Rubbed Chicken Breast Vietnamese Caramelized "Shaking Beef" Tenderloin Farmers Market Tofu Stir Fry The flavors and textures of Kim's foodstuffs are unsurpassed. She is a food whisperer - that is to say, a remarkably talented chef. Her Asian Spice Rubbed Chicken Breast may be the best chicken dish that I have ever eaten. The intensity of the flavor is wonderfully moreish and a decided culinary triumph. Her Caramelized Beef was another great success and it was eaten up...it simply disappeared. Now that is a successful dish! Her Kim Chi Fried Rice is an excellent example of that dish...exemplary and so very fine. Ditto the Farmer's Market Tofu that featured a terrific combination of tiny new potatoes, cauliflower and chickpeas alongside the perfectly wrought (and full-flavoured) tofu. All of the dishes were greeted far greater than warmly and this is a tough crowd...a really exacting bunch of consumers. I am craving that chicken as I write this...my life may never be the same! read more

I called Vucacious and got to talk with Kim herself. She was so easy to communicate with, responsive and helped solved my whole weekend getaway food dilemma on very short notice. Plus it was the busiest time of year and she still fit me in (without making me feel like a burden). I wanted a special dinner for me and two best friends and she was able to put together a menu that catered to one friend who is vegetarian and gluten-free while still offering my meat-eating friend and me delicious options. Our getaway was not close to a grocery so she suggested (in addition to our private dinner) some pre-made dishes/meals, which kept well and we ate like queens the rest of the weekend. Chef Kyle came to prepare and serve the dinner for three on location. He also brought the aforementioned food we planned to live off of while we holed up! It was all fresh, delicious and kept well. Kyle's cooking and service was professional and I just can't say enough good things. Kyle was friendly, easy going and fit right in. We felt special and satiated. read more

Kim Vu made our holiday party a complete success. She was a great phone communicator and her enthusiasm was evident at first contact. She visited our home to meet with us and see the venue and completely set us at ease with confidence and her amazing suggestions. Party night her amazing staff (and Kim to help set up) were on time, courteous and fun. Bartender Mark made great drinks using fruit from our trees, Chef Jen made an amazing meal with Santa Monica farmers market ingredients. Excellent servers and an amazing clean up. We will definitely use Kim and her Vucacious crew again. Highly recommended. read more

We hired Vucacious Catering for our company happy event, celebrating our new VP and other significant company changes for the 2023. Hire them for your future events, you will not be disappointed. We will be using their company again in the future! read more

Vucacious catered a small outdoor party of 10 for my wife's birthday. The food was delicious. Arrived on time. Set up beautifully. Server kept everything topped up and fresh, handled it all. If you are looking for the best, you must hire the best! Vucacious Catering are the best!!! Their food is delicious, prices are very reasonable and the Staff are excellent. Kim and her staff are amazing, we worked already a a few times with them, they are professional and very friendly, they always do their best to select the right menu, not too much but enough for the number of the guests we had. Food is always great, she has taken lots of inspirations from French and Italian cuisine, it's a wonderful mix. Thank you Kim! Look forward to working with you next time! Love Lynn read more

The customer service I received from the early stages of planning my event was impeccable. Kali was fantastic at guiding me through my menu options and extremely flexible as my headcount continued to grow just days prior to the event. Her staff was so pleasant and gracious to all of our guests and the food was phenomenal. I'm looking forward to working with Vucacious for my next event. read more

Based on the perfect reviews and amazing pictures provided both on yelp and the website, I was so excited to pitch this catering proposal to my company who is currently in the process of organizing a minimum of two corporate events. Sadly, 3 weeks later vucacious catering has yet to send a proposal. I held out 2 weeks putting others on hold hoping they would send over information, calling and reminding them I really wanted to use them, and it was the constant "tomorrow," response (with an attitude by the way) and never actually got back to me. Too bad, we have a lot of events coming up, definitely their loss. Everyone try out the awesome LAspice catering, they are the best! read more

I took way too long to write this review! Vucacious catered a party for me in mid-October, and it was just stunning. The chef and bartender arrived at least an hour before the guests started showing up and they went straight to work, preparing hors d'oeuvres a la minute, setting up the bar, making sure all was perfect. The food was flat-out delicious; all my guests said so and in fact, there was scarcely anything left over -- always a sign of sheer deliciousness. The bartender got a little bit overwhelmed (more people wanted mixed drinks than we expected), but all in all, this was a fantastic experience. I'll absolutely call Vucacious again the next time I need excellent, exciting, beautifully prepared food and drink. read more

I started ordering from them because someone posted that they were doing produce boxes. I noticed that they do full meal kits for a family. We got the Mediterranean kit last week and the backyard bbq kit this week and everything is so fresh, tasty, and healthy. With two working parents, I'm sure we're not alone in stressing over how to get lunch and dinner on the table for the week. Vucacious saves the day. The pricing is probably comparable or more expensive than getting cheap takeout, but it's totally worth it for the quality and because it's healthy - it's like what I wish we would cook, only tastier. I'm a huge fan and can't wait to use them for catering once things are back to normal and we can host events. read more

For my husband's 50th birthday, we rented a beach house in Malibu to celebrate with our extended family of 12. I hired Vucacious Catering to cater a birthday dinner for my husband and ever one of us thought the Hawiiaan themed dinner was absolutely amazing. Prior to the evening, Kim Vu and her team took care of everything from ordering rentals to finding beautiful fresh orchid lays and Hawaiian flower arrangements. The food (including macadamia nut crusted, oven roasted pacific halibut with tempura green beans and roasted pineapple) and was expertly prepared by Chef Karli. And our wonderful bartender/server, Mark, made and served delicious Mai Tais throughout the evening. Ron, the production manager, made sure everything went off without a hitch. It was perfection. The topper of the evening was the custom cake, that tasted like a chocolate chip cookie (my husband's favorite). Thank you Kim and the Vucacious team. I would use their services again in a heartbeat. read more

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I hired them for my traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony that included a lunch. The service was EXTRAORDINARY. Kim was highly detailed oriented, energetic, professional, accommodating, and responsive. Her assistant/planner Brittney was equally nice and excellent. They provided the whole service from the equipment rental to setting up to decoration to food to serving to cleaning and even packed up the left over for you. Both Kim and Brittney were so patient to listen to my needs and personalize the event to my vision and budget. It was stress-free, smooth event. I absolutely would refer Vucacious to my friends and family. read more

This yelp review is in regards to the overall proposal/booking process with Vucacious Catering. I was given Kim's contact information from my co-worker who spoke very highly of her and the catering provided. Kim definitely lived up to the expectation. When I contacted Kim, she was EXTREMELY helpful and prompt in her responses. She quickly pulled together an estimate for me and went above and beyond to provide additional information that was very helpful in better understanding the costs associated with the party. Not only does she provide catering, but she acts as a one stop shop by providing additional services such as rentals and overall event planning. It was the best booking experience overall. I would definitely recommend! read more

WOW. I have nothing but great things to say about Vucacious Catering. We hired Kyle and his team for a corporate event this July. Kyle was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He worked around our budget restrictions & was extremely responsive. Day of, he was my go to ally and helped with whatever the task was (including running down the block to help our guitarist carry his equipment). Our guests were very impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere set forth by Vucacious. They brought in the high boys, linens, and even some floral arrangements to set the mood. We will definitely be using them again for future corporate events. read more

We had Kim Vu cater an Italian-themed sit-down, family style dinner outside for a fund raiser for our kid's school and it was a resounding success. Kim's can-do outlook is easy to work with. She and her team are creative, forward looking and amazingly affordable. Our guests who have pretty fancy tastes, stopped many times during the night to comment on how good the mixed drinks were. They commented on the prochutto and fontina wood-fired pizzas finished with micro-greens and olive oil. They gushed over the oven-fired branzino. In the end, they left the house and outside area as clean as they found it. They BLEW AWAY the price of the other firm that I had bid the project and delivered far more. At this point, Kim has 35 5-Star votes and nothing lower. Make this no. 36 and counting. We will hire her again and again. read more
