My colleague and I were so impressed with it ALL: Quality (everyone raved about the food--the best we've served them!), temperature (the food was PIPING hot...so hot that we needed mitts to uncover the food), portion (while it didn't look like enough, it was PLENTY), speed of service and promptness (we arrived 10 minutes earlier than our stated pick up time for the 1st order and the last of the order was being packed...we left exactly at the requested pick up time...but even MORE impressive was the food delivery to Malibu for the 2nd order was ALSO on time...was actually 10 minutes early--this has never happened before!), accuracy and packaging of order (everything was labeled clearly, packaged perfectly and nothing was wrong), and EVERYTHING in between (Paul was easy to work with when placing the order...even had a few changes and it wasn't an issue...they even provide name tents/food labels). Silver Spoons made everything happen, put the numerous gorgeous bouquets that people brought away in the perfect vases, which Scott or his team somehow found on their own without bothering me. They made everything look delicious despite the unbelievable heat, and then, on top of everything else - everything WAS delicious and delightful. The food was fantastic. And Scott Tessler and his team all talked to our guests in such a nice way. It was fun to have them there. We have used Silver Spoons intermittently over the years - for our daughter's wedding in Malibu in 2015, and now again, to introduce her baby to our friends and family. I'm beginning to think we should do this more often - the results from Scott and Silver Spoons are outstanding. After our event was over, exhausted, we came back to our kitchen, and discovered scads of perfectly wrapped leftovers - Steve and I simultaneously went hunting for that incredible mustard - oh, no, did they leave us some? Yes! You left us a significant amount, nicely wrapped up. And you cleaned up the kitchen beautifully! Even mopped! Everything was left in perfect order. Many of our guests were already familiar with Silver Spoons from their experiences at University Synagogue (now part of Wilshire Boulevard Temple). The food, the presentation, interaction with guests, following of dietary/allergy restrictions - all perfect. We had magnificent vegetables for the vegans, gluten-free dishes of all kinds that were superb, regular dishes that were wonderful - the food was great. And the service is exceptional. M Sushi truly came through for us. Vivian was in constant communication with me throughout the entire process and made multiple changes until we were completely happy with the order. They even put together a thoughtful, well-curated menu that accommodated guests that preferred cooked rolls . The setup was seamless. The chefs arrived a few hours before serving time and had cut rolls, nigiri, and sashimi ready by 5:30 . Both chefs were attentive, kind, and very accommodating during the event. I even clarified that I was only looking for one dozen original cookies and one dozen milk chocolate, and she reiterated that all cookie orders require 48-hour notice. What was most frustrating wasn't even the policy--it was the lack of basic customer service. There were no follow-up questions, no attempt to offer alternatives, and no effort to see if anything could be accommodated for the next day. The conversation felt very one-sided and dismissive. I've ordered from other Bristol Farms locations throughout Southern California and have not encountered such a rigid, across-the-board policy, which made this experience even more surprising. I ended up placing the order elsewhere, and my group was very happy with that decision for several reasons, including the overall service experience.
