Horrible. Paid $50 for a powder dip manicure. one nail had a crack down the center of the powder right when I got home. I woke to the polish all off the tip of that finger the next morning. just 2 days after, ALL of the nails were chipped at the end except the pinkies! I didn't do any gardening or use any chemicals. on one, you can see the gray polish underneath from the previous manicure. I noticed she was rushing and being sloppy, but something is wrong here. it looks like a regular manicure and the nails bend... that's not supposed to happen with dip! I'm so disgusted that I wasted $50, a half hour wait time and an hour in the chair. read more

Got my lashes done and they looked horrible. Used too much glue and when I pointed it out, she acted as if it was the band of the lashes. Also, they do not disinfect their equipment. You may get an infection like I did. This place needs to be shut down immediately. read more

Today was the last straw I have been going here for over 8 years. Sometimes the ladies are nice most times they have attitudes. Today I went in and said can anyone do my feet she says yes. Years ago this nail salon was a decent place to go to. Now? Not so much. There are two very big problems at VU Nails and the management refuses to address them. First, the nail salon staff flat out ignores the fact that they need to either take appointments or have a system in place in order to manage their clientele. GROWN A women will rush in the door and run to the pedicure chairs even though people have been waiting in front of them to be serviced. If you are quiet and there is a crowd, good luck getting your nails or toes done. Over the years, the clients that frequent the establishment have grown rude, nasty, and inconsiderate. Young and old -- makes no difference. Second problem? The place is FILTHY. Half empty nail polish bottles and abandoned nail tools litter the work area behind the nail techs. Dingy floor. The eyebrow station sits right on the middle of the waiting area. Too much clutter in general. The place needs a thorough cleaning. I mentioned all of this to the manager and one of the nail techs. They insisted upon doing business as normal. They nodded when I said they'd start losing clients. They don't care. Sad. read more

(Sense 16, I'm 28 now) I went there when Nina was there, I was there when none of the new stuff they have now was there. The manager knows me, but this past Friday (12/14/18) was the last. I paid 41.00 for gel matte stilettos, after being quoted 37 (they charge 5.00 for matte which I've never heard of) though they looked beautiful when she was finished, they ALL ended up popping off like they were 5.00 press ons 4 days later. I am mortified. I've been getting my nails done for years and this has NEVER happened. I called and complained only for the woman to tell me to come and and they'll fix them. I live in New Jersey, no way was I gonna travel 40 minutes to let them attempt to fix my nails they should have done right to begin with. SAVE YOUR MONEY and don't come here. Waste of time. The tech was quick and efficient but not very friendly. She gave me what I asked for but I had to reiterate that I wanted rhinestones. i was recommended by my daughter and my sister so since I got off of work early today I decided to give Vu nails a chance. When I got there it was no organization and you had to guess where you were in line to get your nails and feet done. When I finally got called to get my feet done after about 30 mins wait time, they did my toes and said I have to wait to be called for my nails. I sat for another 15-20 minutes waiting for someone to do my nails and no one came over. I asked the owner when I'm getting my nails done she said soon. after that i waited another 15 mins and they still weren't done. If I could I would put a 0 star because when I went there they didn't do my nails good and when I told the woman she kept telling me that those were how it was supposed to be and when the guy was doing my toes he didn't do it right and when I told him he kept laughing and they were very rude to my sister when she told the nail technician that she didn't put the nail design and the woman said to her that she doesn't have time to keep doing her nails and tried to make us pay more money when they didn't even do the nails right. My regular nail tech is Sue. She always willing to try new designs that I make up. Lol. She & the staff are always friendly. There are plenty of stations & plenty of pedicure chairs with massage capability. They also install lashes, do eyebrows, facials & massages. They also move pretty quickly even on busy days. Got a manicure and pedicure just last Friday, today is Wednesday and my gel nails all peeled off in the shower last night. I was trying to shampoo but all my nails were peeling off on the edges. I shouldn't have asked out without saying something Friday. The nail polish was all over my curricula and skin. Be careful with these people they rush through even when its not busy, the guy there was doing my nails then some lady comes in complaining that he needs to do her nails. So in the middle of doing a gel manicure he has someone else do my nails, and she was horrible. I went to the nail salon with my daughter for mother daughter time. My daughter wanted to get a pedicure and full set and I wanted dip powder and gel pedicure. I requested the young guy thinking he did my feet one time before and did an okay job. Wrong!! It started with his attitude. He was very smug as he held a full conversation with his coworkers laughing and giving about the people around him. I asked him how much take off and dip would cost he said one price and then change it to a different price, saying he had to do more work. My feet felt a little rough I thought it was because I didn't have lotion on when I got home and showered my feet were not smooth at all and my toe nails were not filed correctly. I got dip powder on my nails and three days later they are feeling jagged. I had to file them down as it wasn't done properly. My daughters toe polish started chipping the same day. And they said they don't do kids full set even though we got them done there before. All in all this was not a good experience and I do not recommend you waste your time or money. When someone comes flying into a nail salon demanding service these people know how to handle an irate ( of which there are very few) If the customer could have waited for the tech to handle this other woman's complaint and then he would have finished her nail job. But more than likely she was in a hurry too. I have going to this shop since they opened about 15 years ago. They do EXCELLENT work. They even do preventive care on feet and nails. Be aware of up selling! I went in for a refill that normally cost $23. While doing my nails the tech says I have water marks under one of my nail so I should take it off. Not paying attention she took off all the nails I asked her why did she do that and how much was it now. She stated $35. While she was taking off the "bad nails" I realize that they weren't bad after all. This left my nail very thinned. I told her I don't want a refill anymore just a manicure to protect my nails and let them grow out. She wasn't too please and tried to sell me a gel refill instead of the gel overlay refill. I try to come to this place cause they the closes to my home! But every time I come here it a problem!! They are soo rude! I understand it was just a pandemic! But there was a white woman with no mask on.. I had a mask on but it broke when I tried to adjust my headphones. One of the ladie with in seconds of it falling. Then when im leaving to pay she tells me $1 for the mask.. but y didnt they tell the white woman to do so as well?? the fact they had the audacity!! and btw i had put a foot mask on and told the lady and forgot when I got my pedicUre.. sooo with a foot mask your feet peel for 5-7 days.. I told the girl twice.. so y she kept peeling my feet and talking in her language about me to the other girl(I'm sure) and ended up trying for the 3 rd time to peel my feet I finally took my foot out her hand and said stop it's peeling I have a mask on! And she finally was like ooo and laughed saying I should have told her.. I said I did tell u twice , but u ignored me.. this last time I just had enough! This place is hit or miss. How your nails end up is based on how they feel. Worst part is that no one is consistent. If you find someone that did it right the first time and you try to go back to the same person a second time you'll get turned down and if the same person does my nail it's not consistent ... they don't want their customers to stick to a particular technician...I've decided to stop going there because I'm tired of the arguments i get when I ask a the technician to fix something that I would like to be fixed..I get a lot of talking under their breath and very obviously talking about me...no improvement in their skills and price of everything goes up every other week.. read more

I was a regular at this salon mani/ pedi were fairly decent. Recently I got a gel manicure and it was horrible. The polish smudged an hour after I left the salon. I went back the next day because four nails were damaged at this point and they wanted to charge me. As a matter of fact they said it was my fault that my nails messed up. I have been going here since I was a teenager and I stopped going and had to come back! Their service is wonderful if you have an appointment they start right away! Their gel polish selection is wonderful and I always get compliments on my nails. Kim is the best! Especially if you like individual lash extensions she's the one to go to or Michelle. All in all its a great place not too expensive, clean, and in a decent neighborhood . Most of all I love that loud mouthed ghetto girls don't frequent here which makes for a lovely atmosphere.
