Tetris is, by far, the best DJ you will ever meet! He is not only responsive and helpful in the planning process but SO personable and overall wonderful during the actual event. We started with an intro call to get to know what kind of vibe my husband and I were looking for and he absolutely nailed it! Christian Hudnell won us over initially with his introductory video when we were selecting a DJ through VOX DJs. He showed that he had a genuine love for music and his art. We scheduled to meet with Christian a month prior to our wedding day. He was flexible enough to meet us at a location and date of our choosing, which was great because we were from out of town. Our meeting with him went very well. The majority of the music list we had put together was leaning heavily towards just my taste in music and Christian pushed for my husband to offer up his preferences even if it did not seem like wedding material. He made it clear that his goal was to make sure the crowd was entertained and that the music reflected both of us. He showed passion for what he does, and we left that meeting feeling like we had stumbled upon a true artist rather than just any DJ. He did an awesome job on our wedding day and our family and friends can definitely vouch for that without hesitation. VOX Djs- DJ Kevin Whan My husband and I got married at Lindley Scott house this past October. This review is in regards to VOX DJs and DJ Kevin Whan for their DJ and MC services. The price that was quoted from VOX DJs was very reasonable and affordable. They had a range of selection and you get to choose your own DJs as well. To put it simply, the prices were within our budget. However, we didn't realize at the time that this was a HUGE MISTAKE! One thing to understand is that VOX is a company with hired contractors as their DJs. There was no personal touch, and our DJ is essentially a 3rd-party professional bound by contract. Every time we asked our DJ for simple favors (props, play videos, etc.), he would tell us to contact VOX as those items would be considered additional services to pay for. DJ Kevin seemed like a good fit at our first meeting. We went over our rough estimated time line and he asked questions on our music preferences. After the meeting, it seemed like the DJ had a pretty good understanding of what we liked and what we don't like. It was also agreed upon that we would provide a supplemental playlist via Spotify with our favorite songs. We also told him that we would get him an updated timeline on our BIG day as it becomes available. We then exchanged phone numbers and he had assured us to give him a call should we have any other concerns. Throughout the months following up to our wedding, we've continued to provide updates to all our vendors in regards to our timeline. We would receive word and confirmation from all our vendors... except our DJ. This would be a recurring pattern as we had provided the DJ with Spotify playlists for our Reception Dinner, special dances, Bouquet Toss, etc. and still never received any emails of confirmation of receipt. As our BIG day drew closer, our Spotify playlist was updated along with our updated wedding timeline. Timeline was sent out to all vendors and wedding party. As the other vendors would text/call us back to reply with their recommendations and opinions, we, again, did not hear anything from our DJ. Worried, we decided to take initiative to call him a week prior to our wedding. He had picked up the call, but had a family situation that day, so we scheduled a phone meeting for the next day. During the phone meeting, the DJ reassured us that he had everything under control and that he is a professional DJ who hosted events every, if not, most weekend. He just needed to be provided with the final timeline. The day of our wedding was when things got interesting. I had such a wonderful bridal party and husband that I did not hear of this until after the wedding. About an hour prior to the wedding ceremony, the DJ had asked one of our helpers to have me, the BRIDE, call him.... ONE HOUR BEFORE MY WEDDING CEREMONY! ONE HOUR before I was scheduled to walk down the aisle. One of my bridesmaids told him to take care of it himself or to call the groom to clarify things. Need I remind you that ALL the emails were sent out to all our vendors and all of our wedding party so that they were on the same page? Our DJ seems to have missed this crucial e-mail. As soon as my groom arrived in the venue for photos, he quickly interrupted him and told him that he did not receive ANY of the emails. He brought my groom to his station, borrowed one of the groomsmen's mobile hotspot, opened up his e-mail only to find that my groom DID send out the e-mail with the FINAL TIMELINE and SPOTIFY playlist. Again to go back on this playlist, this was something that was supplemental to the list that the DJ should have put together based on our first meeting. During the wedding, he solely went by our SPOTIFY playlist! Not sure why we even PAID VOX DJs for this service at this point. Another thing that frustrates both my husband and I was that since our DJ was not familiar with our timeline, he was not familiar with the order of events during our reception. He would come up to our sweetheart table often to verify what is coming up next (instead of going to our groomsman who we had introduced to him as the person he can go to). We had to give him detailed instructions like announcing photos with groom and bride in 5 minutes. Lo and behold, we would look up from our table 5 minutes later only to find no one at the DJ table. Throughout the night, we had to take out a lot of things out of our reception as we really fell behind our schedule. He seemed to have taken our wedding lightly and it was truly a disappointment. While the DJ seems like a nice and reasonable person, I would not think of him as a professional DJ, based on the experiences we had with him. We would not recommend him to any bride to be or anyone who is in search of their next DJ for an event. I can not recommend VOX any more highly. From the start, Rigel was super quick to respond to questions and getting us set up for our big day. Their website is an excellent resource for selecting the perfect DJ for your event, as each DJ has a bio video that helps show you a little more about them! Brendan Shannon was the DJ we selected, and he was absolutely phenomenal! I'm a huge music person and Brendan really took the time to ensure he got exactly the style music we were looking for with guest arrival, to ceremony, cocktail hour and beyond. Brendan has such a great personality and he went so above and beyond what we expected as the MC for our wedding. Brendan was so good at keeping everything rolling and organized and doing it in such an effortless and tasteful way. When I first found VOX DJ's on Yelp, I was really excited how their website allows you to watch videos and listen to playlists of all their dj's. It took my fiance and I a while to find our 'perfect fit' since I'm so meticulous when it comes to vendors on such an important day, so when Adrian was added to their site I knew he would be amazing! Our in-person meeting was seamless and fun, and I had no hesitations at all. Needless to say, our wedding ceremony & reception was perfect. We recently got married and as the groom, I was in charge of selecting DJ and making the playlist for reception. As some of my friends got married earlier this year, I had paid attention to different DJs and gotten their contact information. One of them was through VOX DJ so I contacted the Irvine office. Ricky was very helpful with going through different packages, timeline, and planning aspects. After reading through DJ's bios and listening to their mix, I decided to go with Adrian. We met him in person a couple of months before our wedding to go over the tentative program and particular flow/selection of music I wanted to be played during our ceremony and reception. His attitude was always positive and encouraged me to share my Spotify playlist so he can start building his mix. As the wedding date was approaching, we had some changes to our reception program and asked Adrian to MC throughout the reception as well. WOW. DJ Mike totalllyyyyy made our wedding complete. From the start he was fantastic and professional to work with. He was really friendly and upbeat without being that cheesy over-the-top role of DJ that we had been experiencing elsewhere. The website is easy to use and I loved that you could read a little about each DJ and watch a clip of them talk about themselves. We decided to go with Vox because it fit our budget perfectly. So many great things to say about my DJ, Kyle McAuley and the team at this company. 1. Incredibly responsive - I requested quotes from all DJs on yelp in my area, they were the first to respond. And their response was the only one that was not aggressive. Or should I say passive aggressive. The others who responded would request for more personal information from me. Did not care for that. Throughout the time I made the desicion to use them, they were always on top of communicating with me. Even when it was time to make the final payment, before they processed the transaction, they emailed me first to get my approval even though they had my card on file. 2. I think he sensed a bit of nervousness and tension and all sorts of things a typical bride goes through when planning a wedding. We used VOX DJs for their Photo Booth services. I was extremely picky when looking for a photo booth for our wedding. The biggest thing that bothered me with other photo booths was the subpar print quality of the actual prints. This was going to be what our guests were going to take away from our wedding so I didn't want our guests leaving with blurry and/or unfocused photos to commemorate our wedding day. VOX DJs happened to be the photo booth at a friend's wedding of mine. I loved the set up and, most importantly, the quality of the print that VOX DJs provided! I was nervous about hiring an unknown DJ and his choice of music. My DJ was Connor who put me at ease texting me for party details. I shared with him the party was for 18 yr old girls who complained about their prom DJ playing OLD music. My daughter linked him to her playlist and he mixed it into his playlist. The party was great. The girls danced working up a sweat! Connor was also dancing. He arrived early for setup, needing very little space. Equipment looked professional with no technical problems. Vox DJs was great, espcially DJ Trego (Andrew Treg)! We used them for our DJ/MC, lighting, and photobooth at our wedding last year in May. They were very professional during every step, but also very friendly and personable. I found out about them through my sister-in-law who also used them as her wedding DJ. I requested DJ Trego, and I am so glad I made that choice. He was such an upbeat and friendly guy, and had the perfect vibe for our wedding. We had a few meetings with him to coordinate the contract and then a few more afterwards to coordinate the game plan. DJ Trego was so great to work with. He was great at communicating, and also helped us work out details for the timing of our reception with our wedding planner. He even helped me with a very last minute surprise for my husband (I emailed him my idea the night before, and we worked to make it happen!). The actual wedding day went so smoothly, it was perfect! He was an awesome DJ and MC, and didn't play or say anything distasteful (which was a big concern for us as many DJ's are crass or inappropriate, and we had a family-friendly reception). If I have one regret about our reception, it's my choice of placement for our photobooth. It was an awesome resource for our guests and I don't think many people knew about it (we didn't even get the chance to use it!). We had DJ Kurt Owen for our wedding this past summer! My wife and I loved how flexible he was and eager to serve our needs for our wedding. I have personal experience working with sound equipment, so I was pickier about the equipment set-up and volume. During the ceremony, we had a singing portion and Kurt was able to readjust the mic positioning on the fly when needed. Many weddings I've been to, the volume was always too low for me to hear, so I was extremely happy that Kurt checked that the volume would be high enough for everyone to hear. After the ceremony, DJ Kurt was a big help with organizing pictures by announcing the order of pictures that were going to be taken and letting everyone know if it was their turn for pictures. Throughout the reception, Kurt was clear and concise with the announcements he made and didn't say more than he needed to. we booked Vox Dj's for our wedding on March 16th at Seven4one in Laguna Beach. We chose DJ Ace Conlon for our DJ. Ace was absolutely wonderful, he really listened to the vibe we wanted for our wedding. We are a pretty laid back couple and we only chose our main songs and allowed him to have free reign to play whatever he thought best for the reception and cocktail hour. He kept the flow of everything moving so smooth, everyone loved him and wanted to take pics with him. Most importantly he kept everyone dancing and looked so nice when he came to DJ our wedding, he was dressed to the 9's. People are still telling us that was the best wedding they have ever been to. Still coming down from our wedding high but I wanted to get this out in case it helps another couple in the middle of wedding planning - working with Marc Minero at VOX DJs was WONDERFUL. My husband and I were having a hard time sorting through all of the DJs that were being recommended to us because: 1) the costs were too high, or 2) they either played a lot of "all-ages" music or EDM. We knew that we wanted more 90's-00's hip-hop/r&b and wanted someone who would be able to take a small list of songs and turn it into a full playlist to our liking. VOX DJs made the process easy by asking for our price range and song preferences; from there, we were given a list of DJs that seemed to fit the bill. We narrowed it down to Marc and he made everything effortless. Based off of one meeting and a small list of songs that we wanted and didn't want, he kept our party going all night and many of our guests came over to compliment us on our song choices (which were actually mostly Marc's choices based off of our limited direction). Our guests told us we win weddings (I don't care if they lied!) and we think that was in large part thanks to DJ Trego from VOX DJs. From the very beginning, VOX is a class act. They are very prompt with their communications and they follow through. Going through all of the DJ videos on their website was fun... I kinda felt like I was picking someone for a first date. The videos gave us a glimpse into each DJ's style and personality. Highly recommend checking them out. While VOX will do an initial call with you to figure out your style and then send a list of videos to check out, I'm very thorough so I watched every one. :) Trego made us feel super excited about the wedding during our prep meeting and took great notes on music we liked, feel we were going for, and pronunciation of names in the wedding party. Day of, he was super excited, inspiring, and got everyone pumped up. No one stopped dancing all night, and we went for a good 3.5 hours. He would get on the dance floor, dance with people, sing along, and played everything we had requested. He also rolled with the changes and delays beautifully. He was getting ready to introduce my husband and I for our first dance, when I had a momentary dress-train-emergency and he delayed beautifully and seamlessly for us.
