Firstly, Dr. Shah is great! I've been seeing him for almost ten years and he manages my numerous…read morehealth conditions. He's got a great bed side manner, always very knowledgeable, professional and great with problem solving plus has a good sense of humor, which I find important as going into the doctors can be a bit nerve wracking. Both Shirley and Jennifer (NPs) are always fantastic! I've seen them a handful of times throughout the years and the bed side manner, attitude and personalities are amazing. The office staff have always been amazing as well! From the medical assistants to the front desk. Can't say enough good things. Always prompt to pick up the phone, short hold times, I can always reach someone which is huge! My appointments are always scheduled, never any issues with that. They inform me promptly if there are any changes to coverage and call for reminders which is nice. Billing is never an issue as well. Overall highly recommend the practice! Nice office, convenient location for me and great staff!

I've been meaning to write about this place for some time. Presence in Park Ridge is the place…read morewhere my doctor has his office, but they are better known for the immediate care clinic on the lower level. When this place opened up on the corner of Washington & NW Highway, south of Whole Foods, I was thinking of how convenient it would be. Well, in the span of about a week I discovered that it's not all that great. Christmas 2014, my 8 year old awoke at 5 AM with a painful earache. He wasn't thinking about presents, only how much his ear hurt. We got him in there at 8 AM, since they were open on Christmas Day. The doctor looked, confirmed there was an infection and did nothing more, so we went home. An hour later the eardrum ruptured, we called back and the doctor sent a prescription for an antibiotic. Couldn't she have done that in the first place? A few days later, my mom came down with a UTI, so I brought her there. After a short wait, they took her in and did their evaluation, plus a lab test. I offered them a list of drugs she's taking but they declined. The doctor gave her a prescription for an antibiotic. However, his electronic script wasn't working at the moment so he gave me a printed copy. I took it to Osco and they had an issue with it immediately because of a potentially harmful side effect due to a drug interaction. Had the doctor looked over the list, maybe he would have thought about this risk too. So they called the Presence office from the pharmacy and got no response from the doctor. In the end, the pharmacist paged my mom's regular physician, who recommended another drug and overruled what was prescribed originally. As for the lab results, we never saw them. So two visits later, I'm wondering why anyone would want to come here when it appears they just go through the motions of providing health care. Next time I think we'll check out Loyola's Park Ridge clinic on Higgins or the Advocate place in Niles.

This was a very serious condition that they were investigating. We made an appointment and I took off of work to accommodate her. We waited in the waiting area be for over a half an hour watching everyone go in before us when it was just a simple blood draw. No one told us what was going on and we were treated like if we were just standing in a deli line. Office staff and nursing staff could be much more accommodating and possibly review patient notes and same-day appointments with compassion.
