She's also an absolutely delightful person to spend a couple of hours per week with. After about 6 weeks of treatment I had gained a lot more mobility and the pain had reduced a fair bit. After breaking my dominant arm's wrist and humerus and having surgery on both which required metal plates and screws, my surgeon recommended I have occupational therapy to regain motion and strength 3 weeks post surgery. While my surgeon was in Torrance, I live in Sherman Oaks which meant I had to find my own therapists in the valley and within walking distance if I was lucky. I had no idea how to make this happen so I did what any Xennial does...I went to Yelp and found VOSA, a quick 1.5 mile walk from my home. My first visit I learned I would need to see two therapists at each appointment, one for my hand and one for my shoulder. Over the following nine months I worked with all of the therapists, however Arpa, Esteban and Glinda were the three that I saw most frequently. The treatment and care I received from this team was above and beyond. Each person was kind, patient and knowledgeable about their specialty. I could not have wished for a better team to get me through the difficult transition after such a traumatic accident. Though in my case it's a very long healing process after wrist surgery, I felt like I made slow and steady improvement every time I came here. I was referred to Vosa Hand Therapy shortly after having surgery on my hand. I did not realize how important the hand-specific PT would be to ensure the proper recovery of my hand. Each of the staff members are friendly, professional, and an integral part of the therapeutic experience. Rachel was terrific at identifying the issues that needed attention, and when necessary, creating the appropriate splint or other appliance to aid the speed of my recovery. Vosa Hand Therapy is a small office that only treats hands and arms. The staff are professional and friendly. I went there for a frozen shoulder, 2-3 times a week for 6 months. I highly recommend Esteban, who works on the upper arm. He is knowledgeable, caring and committed. My shoulder still isn't 100%, but it's much, much better. Treatment included passive range of motion exercises, active range of motion exercises, ultrasound, TENS, and kinesiology taping. Esteban gave clear explanations, listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and researched the rare answers he didn't know. He developed a plan of care that focused on my most restricted range of motion, while also working my entire shoulder. He created exercise plans for me to do at home and at work. What sets Esteban above others, however, is his level of commitment. He came in on a day off so that I could have one last session before the end of the coverage period. After I was discharged from his care, he still took the time to answer my questions about options for further treatment. An added bonus - Esteban kept me entertained with stories and conversations on a wide variety of topics - an excellent distraction from the pain of therapy. I came here when I broke my wrist and was in a cast for about 4 months. My hand was super weak and it was hard to move my thumb since I had a thumb spike on the cast. I love all the therapy they did for me here. If it wasn't for VOSA I would probably still be in pain. They fought against my workers comp insurance to get me more therapy. My workers comp ins wanted to stop my therapy really early even though I had just started getting better. I only experience pain occasionally and I believe it's because my workers comp ins was able to stop my therapy even after all VOSA did to get me as much therapy as possible. I really appreciate all they did and if it wasn't for them I would still be hurting every day as I was before. Thank you VOSA. read more

The Vosa hand therapy staff is amazing! I'll tell you why. I had an accident earlier in the year that ended up take piece of my finger completely off. When it came time to return to work they fitted me with splint to cover my finger for safety measures. Which also helped me write when it came to it. Glenda is the first person that I met at Vosa she has been there 30 plus years and for good reason. Shes the glue that hold Vosa together. She schedules all the appointments, follows up with you when you may have missed your appointment. She doesn't make you feel guilty when you miss an appointment ether which I've experienced at other offices. Glenda goes the extra mile, she even puts the ultrasound gel bottle in a warmer which makes it more soothing in the cold morning. Josefina is the other therapy aide that has been there 23 years. Once a patient she knows what you are going though. Watch out for her, she has hawk eyes when it comes to over seeing your treatments. She'll correct you when you're not doing your therapy correctly. She's like your stern teacher you had in grade school (you remember). read more

How lucky was I to be referred to VOSA. I needed therapy after a double fracture to my right hand. From the first time I walked into the clinic in Van Nuys I felt the staff genuinely cared about the patients. From the very first visit I was not greeted as just another patient but rather a wellness family devoted to making me feel comfortable and on the right track of regaining full strength and movement of my damaged hand. Rachel and Glenda whom I have had the pleasure of working with have been absolutely amazing. Giving me the necessary tools and exercises to rehabilitate my injury. I never felt rushed or unimportant but rather a member of the family welcomed with open arms, good conversation, a hot cup of coffee and an unparalleled professionalism that one would only receive from a facility where the entire staff truly loves what they do and have great compassion for their patients. Although I have not worked directly with others I can see that each and every member of the Vosa team has the same great attitude and the want to heal. In just a few weeks of therapy my two outside fingers and wrist went from little to no movement, extreme pain, lack of sensation and fear of needing surgery to today now being at almost 100%, feeling great and looking forward to the last few appointments that will take me over the threshold of complete healing.
