Not a bad place to get models!…read more Lately, I've stopped buying stuff on Amazon to help support small businesses, including all of my models/supplies. Unfortunately, there aren't many hobby shops around but Florida RC Outlet always comes in clutch. When you first walk in, it just has that sort of model builder vibe that's super welcoming. The decor, the vending machine to the left of the door and the way it's laid out. Definitely reminds me of a hobby store from back home. They have mostly RC stuff (makes sense) but they have a fair selection of plastic models and a generous selection of paint, brushes, glue, etc. I've been building models since I was a kid, so I'm extremely well versed in different kits/manufacturers and what they're worth. That being said, their prices are fair and not overpriced. But the best part of it all is the idea of helping keep a hobby store in business and buying their products in person. It's a little far for me, but the next time I'm in that area I'll definitely find myself in Florida RC outlet.

While I've never been big into comic books, I've always loved pop culture collectibles. I know they can't carry everything in store but every time we're in there I'm amazed by how much they do have on hand. Sure, there are huge online stores that you can order tons of things from but like always, I'd rather support a local Jacksonville business if at all possible. Within minutes, the store owner left a comment asking me to send her a DM with information on what I'm looking for to see if she can help. See what I mean? You can't get that kind of customer service from any online store, no matter how big and bad they are... If you like stuff like this, stop in at Mythical Mountain in Mandarin some time.
