This review is solely based on the customer service of the woman at the meat counter, Kimberly. I called them on the phone to see if they had defrosted shrimp for me to cook that night and she was amazing on the phone. Very friendly, gave me prices and sizes, and told me she would take care of me when I got there. I got there about an hour later, didn't tell her it was me on the phone, and STILL got great customer service. Welcomed me to the store, was quick to offer options, I even needed more shrimp than what they had and she went out of her way to go get more and thaw it for me. I went to grab a few extra things and by the time I came back she already had the extra shrimp bagged and tagged, ready to go. She was cleaning, helping, and being friendly, all by herself! Keep up the good work girl! I can tell she loves her job and I love her energy! read more

Where have all the flowers gone? You have to wonder how a grocery store sinks so low. Once upon a time, Vons had the most beautiful roses. They smelled sweet and the petals were the richest reds and pinks and yellows. Something happened. The fragrance started to decline and eventually they had no fragrance at all. The edges of the roses became dark and lifeless and the buds began to droop. Like so many in this community, we are angry to see you aren't tending the roses. You aren'tt teaching the younger workers how to take care of all the flowers that can bring such joy to the elderly in the community like me. You just throw them away and wait for the next batch to take their place. All the beauty is leaving this place and many are scared it won't come back again. read more

I waited over 30 minutes while three bakery employees stood around chatting, showing no urgency or regard for the customers waiting. At one point, one of them yelled out, "Where are the baguettes?!" I gave it another 10 minutes before asking myself--only to be snapped at with, "Yeah, we don't have any." I've confirmed multiple times what time the baguettes are supposed to be available, as they're a crucial part of my business. Today's experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and frankly unacceptable. Vons has lost a loyal customer because of it. read more

There's a reason Stater Bros has two locations in Yucca Valley.....service and prices. This Vons location has to be the worst I've experienced in the Vons/Albertsons/Safeway chain. Customer service is non-existent with long lines at all times and only one cashier usually open. It may have been good if Kroger and Albertsons merged. Even Ralphs is a better option than this store. read more

Was here last night, buying produce, receipt says 8:11 pm. There was one line open, over ten people waiting, I finally asked the checker if they could open another line. She replied, "He'll be back soon." A few minutes later, she get's on the intercom, and asks for assistance. Employee opens up a register, and is checking out my purchases. He accidentally lets a red bell pepper fall out of the bag (easy with this new style of bag), picks it up off of the floor where he's standing, and puts it back in the bag with the others, saying nothing about it. I say, "Um, did that just hit the floor??" He says, "Yes, did you want another one?" Me.."Yes, I would, thank you." Him..."Ok, you can go pick one up on your way out". That should have been the end of it, but no. He's annoyed with me, and says, "Just so you know, it's important to thoroughly wash all of your fruits and vegetables before eating them. They have been through way worse than that." I say, "Yeah, I always wash my fruits and vegetables. Thanx." WTH??? So the guy dropping produce on the floor and saying nothing is lecturing people when he gets caught. I should have walked out and let you keep your floor food. This would have never happened at Stater Bros., or the employee would have been out of a job. Read the room. Your employees treat people in this town like crap. People are tired of walking on eggshells around your miserable staff. read more

Best stocked store in Morongo Basin, BUT the last two months or so, the lines exiting have stretched into the aisles and take a long time to get out of the store. Lay offs? Vons needs to correct this, or Stater Brothers will get my business and it's not what I want. read more

I'm new to Yucca Valley area within the last three months and ventured out to a few of the grocery stores mainly Stater Brothers. It's close to my home but I love bonds variety however tonight I was determined to go to Vons though it's a little further from my home to drive. I was hoping to run into an employee there that I could explain my inability to understand the grocery store, digital coupon, technology. Well, just when I had the green light and got into a checker that had no one in front of me. I tried to explain to him. I'm new in the town my first time there can you please help me with the bonds app on my phone he first asked me what kind of phone I had and simply said just go to the App Store. Download it and you'll be good. Well anybody with a brain and a cell phone know it's not that easy it didn't happen and as I struggled to navigate through the app, I noticed the line behind me growing and growing and growing, and I also noticed the patients of the checker diminishing. Why can't an employee of a large company stop and take time to help the consumer? I guess those days are gone. Never to return.. well shame on Vons. Shame on the corporation shame on the management and shame on the checkers who don't think it's worth taking a minute to help the consumer so that they can shop for more and still save money.. I won't be back to this lawns in Yucca Valley because there's no Customer Service. It's like walking into Home Depot. There's no one there to help anybody not even with a question!! so long VONS , I will not be back! you're not the only one money hungry, could not care less about the consumer! store in this town.! Best quality you'll find in the area, no competition. I see rotting fruit (that did not get like that in a day) on a regular basis now. As far as produce goes, aren't greens supposed to be green? The checkout conveyor belt is disgusting. I hand my food items over directly to the cashier. I won't be using the belt ever again until they start cleaning it. I make sure to keep my shopping list to a bare minimum. Are you reading this Vons? That's right . . . I'm buying less . . .you are losing business because of rotting fruit and unsanitary conditions that you are choosing to ignore! Realized that the produce section has been looking better recently Today it looked great and I realized why. The Vons employee Robert. I recognized him from years back when I first moved to Yucca in 2021. Checked in with him and he had been away from the produce section for awhile. I complimented him on how he makes sure items are stocked, fresh and attractive. Vons should be proud to have him! Super nice guy who clearly takes pride in his work. I'm officially done with this Vons. Their staff negates anything positive I could about their products. Last week, it was an efficient and not terribly good bagger named Zee (I think) who gave me major attitude about a bagging request. The Checker, Anna, was dismissive of my concern. Really? So much for customer service. The GM was terrific and appreciative of my reaching out. Today, Trey R. was texting while checking out customers. When I asked about it, he said he was "texting a friend in the hospital. Friends before work. Always." Ummmm. Ok. If these are who are representing Vons, I will shop elsewhere. read more

Vons grocery stores are such odd ducks. They have some amazing incredible rare items that you CAN'T find anywhere else but here, especially if you are doing the gluten-free, vegan, keto ... or whatever crazy diet... you CAN. for the most part find items at Vons that are unique, delicious and a nice change of pace to the normal items that you buy... but THEN !!!! you come across items that are things that you would normally buy every single time you shop for groceries and it will be 5 to 10 times MORE expensive at Vons that anywhere else ! I just do NOT get it. This is the primary reason why Vons never sits at the top of my list. Pricing irregularities is the name of the game for Vons. read more

One of the major appeals of Vons is typically the deli counter, with great specialty sandwiches and sides. In this particular location, they should abandon the deli counter, and rebrand it as a museum, where visitors can go see an exhibit of the two most laziest people on planet earth. The service is awful. I asked if they are making sandwiches today... to which I received a confused look and "huh?". They revealed that their menu was broken... but they could still make a sandwich. When questioned about it, I come to find out that their toaster is broken too. The two workers both tried to tell my wife to order her sandwich from the other worker. Nobody approached any customers asking to help them. And in the end it took 30 minutes to get a plain turkey sandwich and a small container of Mac and cheese.... read more

Vons has a wonderful bakery. We've purchased their "signature" Apple, Peach, Cherry and Boysenberry pies and all are very good and around $12.99 ea. Today we bought the NY cherry cheesecake and to no surprise just as yummy priced at $15.99. Their jumbo chocolate chunk cookies are wonderful normally $7.99 for the dozen. Honestly we haven't had a bad experience yet from the bakery. My only complaint about this store is the slow checkout. I've stood in line for as long as 16 minutes with meat, milk and ice cream in my cart (yes 16 minutes, I timed it). Vons need to pay closer attention to the check out area and get customers checked out quicker. The slow check out is my reason for the 4 stars. read more

I was on my way to the Joshua Tree National Park and I stopped by at this vons location to get some food. From the deli I bought two pieces of chicken breast with two sides. Right after eating this food I got a severe headache and one hour after that I started vomiting really hard. Eating those contaminated foods ruined my day and my trip. Honestly I have not been that sick in my life. Instead of enjoying my trip I became sick because of going to Vons. Two thumbs down for this disgusting place. read more

Ordered a breakfast burrito without meat today. The girl making it made me a breakfast burrito with just eggs. No potatoes and it took 15 minutes. $5.99 for a bad burrito with just eggs. They're also not very sanitary there. They walk around touching all sorts of things back there then come back to the deli to make you your burrito or sandwich without changing gloves. 5/5 stars for mobile pick up services. 1/5 stars for the deli. read more

I've been coming to this location since the 90s. Always loved their store, they always have such great deals. I feel the store is unique, and stands apart from Stater bros and the others in the area. The maangers pretty cool. Their service at the deli counter is always quick. Worth coming here for their selection of produce too. read more

This store is problematic. Organic vegetables are consistently rotten. The deli is usually rude and not appearing they care. They shut meat counter down by 8pm or earlier. It smells or caught rodent at the entrance by flowers most of the time. Door on flower entrance has been broke for months. Majority of employees are super friendly. Not sure if the problem is management or what. I would never shop here. read more

I was recommended to shop here by one of my old friendship And let me tell you a wonderful visit. Also, it was a very nice store well put together .Great customer service by Trey R. Very nice young man Took his time to show me where things were located in the store. I also have bad shoulders. He lifted heavy items for me. Very nice, and also very patient with good customer service. But As i was loading up in my car. He ran over to give me a hand with my items. During his own lunch break!! Can you believe that! Stopped by Von's this morning to pick up a birthday treat for friend at work. Got in store at 8:45 stood at bakery counter for a few minutes with four employees behind counter with no one asking if they could help. Waited another few minutes and finally said excuse me but is anyone working at counter. An employee asked another to help. So now I've been standing about five minutes waiting which was fine. The employee comes over I show her what I'd like she gets it goes to put in box and kinda gets the whip cream and blue berries stuck to lid, I say it's fine. She then goes to far right side of bakery/deli with cake, the original employee I asked for help goes over and I can't see either employee anymore. Finally after waiting 15 minutes I gave up. It felt very odd to me almost bullish because I asked for help. Not sure why customer service has become a commodity and when you ask for help, even in a nice way it seems like a challenge to employees. When four people stand there and you see them notice you but don't say anything and you patiently waiting hoping they will help you so you don't have to ask. I finally stop and let the manager know before checking out. read more

I usually come here for anything I forgot to bring from home and also firewood. They usually have a stack to sell outside the store.

Quite possibly the most poorly managed grocery store I've ever seen. Consistently out of routine items. If you ask, you're told the truck is late. Doesn't matter what day of the week or time of day, it's always "the truck is late." The people at the deli aren't properly trained and can't cut meat. Employees don't understand how their own pricing works. The manager is rude. The pharmacy is incompetent. Employees take up parking spots in front of the store even though the parking lot is like 2 acres and always empty. Everyone here needs fired. read more

I have been a customer at the Yucca Valley, Ca Vons store for quite sometime, mostly RX. The customer service is great, in store. I try to call ahead to make sure all meds are filled and ready for pick up, as one of my children usually pick them up. Maybe they are strained for hours or short handed but every time I have called there, NO Answer! So I have transferred my scripts to another local pharmacy that delivers. If I could give no stars, I would. While waiting in line, our cashier had to jump off our line and help another customer with lottery tickets...more than 20 at least. There was a young mother behind me with a 6 month old and a two year old. She had a few frozen items, and so did I. Instead of checking us out and closing the line temporarily to help with the tickets, we had to wait for over ten minutes. When I said something, I was ridiculed by the bag check girl and a cashier at the other register. The "manager" finally came over and said, "I'm sorry that's how we do things here". Well, if it doesn't work for all your customers, you need to change it. Period. Close the lane, temporarily, check out existing customers quickly, and then help the guy with 100 tickets! read more

Von's saved our stomachs. We tried to eat breakfast in Joshua Tree, however the wait was too long and we were hungry. So we decided to drive down the road to Vons and grab a breakfast burrito for $3.50. And while we were there we grabbed some fruits for snacks, bran muffins, bubbly water, etc. Yeah we didn't get the cool hip breakfast experience, but hey hunger called and we ended up saving money.
