This place needs a major upgrade. The entire complex needs a facelift actually. I stopped going here because I was tired of always having to wait in line because only 1 register would only be open during busy shopping times. I happened to stop in the other day for a quick snack and noticed that now the liquor is barred up. This does not make me feel comfortable to shop here. Because to me that says that they get robbed a lot. I could be wrong but that's the vibe I get from this place. read more

Came here to exchange new unopened diapers from one size to another. Have previously had no issue here with this last month. Had the unfortunate experience of encountering supervisor Sam who was appallingly dismissive, rude, and overall unable to communicate professionally or even properly. I had to go to the level of calling the DM Shawn who has been more than helpful and kind in such matters. When attempting to speak with Sam, she refused to talk with him, stating "I don't wanna talk to him." If she's this rude to the DM, you can imagine how she treats customers. They ultimately refused to exchange the NEW UNOPENED diapers for a different size even though Shawn approved the switch. No problem, we took our business elsewhere down the street to Ralph's who were happy to exchange them for us. Though Shawn is a great DM who tries to improve Vons stores, he seems to have an unfortunate crew of "supervisors." read more

I saw those 2 stars on Yelp? I think it worth more. Maybe not 5 stars, but still, the place is beautiful. It is big, they have many quality merchandise, and they even have Starbucks inside. One thing bothered me about today's visit (Thursday noon), is the smell that came from their Deli area. Really bad small that made me feel little sick. It is a great market, big fruits and veg section, and easy to find what you are looking for. Needed answers for some basic questions, but couldn't find anyone to answer. So walked all the way to the cashier for answers. Overall it is a place I am planning to return to. And always fun to finish with Starbucks to go. read more

Nope. I get suckered in every few months because it's super convenient, but this place needs to go out of business. As always: 1. No express check out and always only one register open. 2. "Everyone's a criminal" lock up for every toilertry. NO ONE IS STEALING PRELL! 3. Their produce is so bad it's breaking scientific laws: how can an avocado be squishy, brown and overripe on the outside but still rock hard in the middle? Prepping one is tougher than an artichoke. True story: to save it I'm using a meat tenderizer read more

The 5 stars is for the young man working the deli section. Whenever I go to get some lunch I always see & hear him. Idk what's wrong but he's usually the only one there helping EVERYONE out. Idk why he doesn't have anymore help especially during lunch time. This young man has curly blond hair with glasses (forgot to ask his name) but Vons give him a very nice raise or promote him I've been coming here on and off for years and he's always busy but very helpful and kind. Old people love him! We need more people and employees like him read more

UPDATE: Lucy is a MANAGER!? Ridiculously unfit for her position. Lucy was incredibly impatient and disrespectful toward a worker AND customer. It made me so appalled that I had a full on melt down in the car. Grocery stores are already so triggering because of this virus, and to see the worker, and then an elderly customer who had basic questions, be treated this way was too much for me. The worker was outside after she was so rude to him in front of myself and another customer, and he looked so stressed. Nobody needs more of that, especially not now. read more

Has only 3 checkers and the lady Stefanie in aisle 4. Says the lady has more than 15 items I said who cares there are only 3 checkers open and all 3 should take anyone. It doesn't matter I didn't even care I only had 1 item. Geez lady help everyone who cares how many items she had. The store is also extremely out dated no self check out either. Looks unorganized as well. read more

If I can give this place negative stars, I would. The manager, Lucy, SHE WAS SO RUDE. I have seriously never met someone so rude before. Like honestly, I doubt I'm ever going back to this location. Would rather drive a little further and go to another location. Dont go here. read more

every other day passing by the store. never problem with parking . great food selection . very clean and friendly workers . I recommend these store read more

I just want to express how pleased I am with the outstanding service, attention and respect I constantly receive from Cesar Cobian whenever I am at the Vons produce section in Tarzana,CA. Cesar is always so friendly, responsive/attentive and constantly goes out of his way to make sure I have the items I want and am fully satisfied with my shopping experience at Vons. He is a true asset to your company and represents Vons in a very upstanding and professional manner. read more

Very poor customer service, retention and overall product quality. Management is nonexistent, taking smoke breaks or gossiping with coworkers. Cashiers often gossiping loudly, cursing and swearing clearly with customers. PRODUCT IS OFTEN OLD OR EXPIRING. Produce is always on its last leg, soggy beer boxes I mean its endless! Shop at Ralph's down the street its got bad parking but anything beats this! What a mess! read more

Sometimes all it takes is one person to make all the difference in the world. The supervisor lady that just helped me didn't know how to blow up balloons but when she heard my dad was in the ER next door, she went above and beyond for me by learning how to blow up the balloons, helped me put together a nice arrangement and then gave me a lovely discount to make my day better! This lady made me cry! I gave her a hug after and thanked her. God sometimes sends angels and she was definitely one! read more

I was asked by a 'produce' manager a week ago to wear a mask. I had forgotten to put one in my purse after a long day at work! Apologized and went to get my mask. Upon my return, he said "Thank you." Two days ago at the Tarzana Von's, I entered and saw two women NOT wearing masks! When I approached the cashiers Mary and Maria, they said they "were told not to confront them" This is NOT COVID regulations! Either your customer wears a mask or they are asked to leave or wear a mask!! read more

I tried to shop a minute ago. I saw 20 people in lines. There are no self checkout. People are asking for manager. I put my merchandise back and left the store. I'll go to Gelsons instead. read more

I've been meaning to write a review on this particular Vons location forever! This is the worst Vons in the whole valley. I live a block away and go elsewhere because of how bad this one is. No exaggeration every time I go in the checkout people are ALWAYS unprofessional, distracted, don't greet the customers, the checker and the bagger always have a conversation if their own going on and it's always something that shouldn't be talked about in front of customers. They are oblivious to the fact that people are there, last time I was in a couple weeks ago the bagger was cursing while laughing it up with the cashier, never once greeted me or looked in my direction. One time there was some drama between employees and the cashier was talking smack to the bagger, they yell across registers to each other, a cashier said blah blah...... better not or I'll kick his ass. I mean really????? The employees are an embarrassment!!! Keep your personal convos in the break room! Greet your customers! And be professional for crying out loud. Your behavior is disgusting. Also....don't take a smoke break right outside the door. Go around the bldg or something. Ugh! Horrible behaviors! read more

I'm begging this Vons to get their act together. First of all - the parking lot needs a major makeover. Repaved, repainted, better lighting, nicer landscaping- it's a complete dump. Second- you've lost my business in your bakery department. I literally went in five times to order a cake and the only cake decorator you have was either on a break or at lunch or left for the day at 2pm. You need to hire more people to run your departments. Please talk to CVS - You guys can work together to make it a nicer building and a higher end shopping center. it's disgusting. Tarzana needs a makeover big time. read more

Worst service. Closing lines while people are still waiting. Don't shop here. Better experience making your own groceries from scratch.

This was my first visit to a Von's. It was rather cozy with narrow aisles, but it did the job. Picked up 4 lbs. of sugar for $2.49. They have a shared parking lot with the other businesses on the plaza. read more

Disappointed is all I can say. What's the point of having a sign that says a mask is required to enter the store when it's not enforced? Man walking around with his wife/girlfriend without a mask. She had one on, but he didn't. He was a very tall & solid man, so maybe staff was afraid to approach him? Another man had his mask below his nose when I was checking out.cashier didn't say a word, not that I blame her because people can be psychotic. I honestly don't feel safe shopping there anymore as I live with someone with health issues that would have a serious outcome if they get the virus . I continued to go here because it's a nice Vons even though the cashiers are so rude, but now I'll just go to the Gelson's across the street. read more

I have been there yesterday bought a salmon It was super smelly and wasn't fresh. I didn't even try to cock it I throw it away read more

This place is like an episode of cheers. Everybody knows your name! The staff are usually super friendly. There is one manager who is a complete jerk (you will know who it is as soon as you see him), but I don't let him ruin my shopping trip. Well stocked produce (minus the onions, not sure why they are always on the verge of being old) and very well stocked meat. Tri tip and London broils are always on sale here. They have the five dollar Fridays which can get you a whole chicken or fresh sliced luncheon meat. Also they have a decent selection of low carb ice cream bars! I like the size of this location. Its a smaller grocery store, still packed with tons selections but you can always be in and out relatively quickly. read more

The employees here don't have respect for their customers, saying unwelcoming and disrespectful comments towards their customers constantly. The management at this store obviously doesn't care about this issue, I'm not returning to this store if it keeps happening. read more

This is where I have been shopping for the past 2 months since its close to my new house. Prices are pretty high, but its usually clean and well stocked. Tonight Izzy was our cashier. She didn't greet us, smile, or anything. Borderline rude. Not sure if she was having a bad day, but damn! If you are in customer service as least be pleasant! I work in sales so I know better. Parking lot can be a nightmare, so be careful with all the shitty drivers in it. I much prefer the Ralph's down the street, much better selection and customer service. read more

They need to teach their staff how to carefully place beer in a bag. I bought some beer at this store. The cash register person slams the beer on the counter trying to put the counter trying to bag it. As a result, all my beer is flat. Good job dummy. read more

Unbelievable!!! This is my neighborhood Vons. I've been coming here for years. I miss the old manager and employees. I was in there this evening and couldn't believe my eyes and ears. They have 3 undercover/loss prevention employees. They were profiling an older guy because he had a ponytail. They were following him around trying to catch him doing something and he did nothing. I watched until he left the store. It was like a movie. Then they start watching the people in lines, looking at there baskets, as if someone in the line was going to steal. I felt very uncomfortable. Not everyone comes in to steal. There has to be another way. Very unprofessional. We are in a well to do area mind you. read more

This Vons is low key, unpretentious and has everything you would need. I have never encountered anyone rude working there, in fact the opposite. I much prefer it to the White Oaks Ralphs which is overcrowded no matter what time of day it is. They also have a Starbucks here as well. Everyone had a mask on and I never felt unsafe- the prices are much better than other stores as well. read more

I used to like shopping here as a cheaper alternative to Gelson's. But, the parking lot is full of homeless and grifters. I no longer feel safe shopping here. Also, 1 time an alarm went off and nobody knew how to turn it off even after it was determined that the alarm was erroneous. Also the food quality and selection has gone downhill. Ralph's is better and has similar prices and more/better employees to get u in and out smoothly. read more

The floral department, brakes my heart! They get beautiful, beautiful, flower bouquets, the price is reasonable, but the potted plants are always being let to die.Why do they order potted plants, if they kill them? What a waste!!! Another big problem, is the tall, big guy at the meat counter. He is there for years, but he does not want to do anything, or the list possible. He never knows anything, he never has anything you would ask for. read more

The lady with red hair working the cash register was rude, she had the audacity to put the closing sign after me and my family have been waiting in the line for five minutes and we were the last ones in line. The prices are high.. almost 4 dollars for one avocado and the parking is TERRIBLE. They have gates around the parking lot that if you were to park next to the gate you would be closed in by another car. read more

I must say how happy I was there were open.... I needed to make a super early 6:30 am meeting for work and wanted to pick up some breakfast for my team. I yelped surrounding grocery stores and they all seem to open around 7 am. Ugh. Totally my fault for not planning ahead of time. I drove to this Vons, Tarzana location, because let's face it it's close to my house and a 24 hour Wenchells donuts ( when in doubt donut shops are open super early). And to my surprise I saw customers walking out of the store. Keep in mind it's 5:45 am and I'm desperate. I pulled and clerk let me know they open at 5 am everyday!! Horray!!! I was able to grab fruits and freshly baked bagels!!! And my team definitely loved that I supplied breakfast this early!! Thanks Vons Team. You really made my morning. read more

Nothing wrong with this place. good food. Pretty average customer service. People are pretty nice. It's just usually busy when I shop here.

This store is utterly terrible. Let me express to you how unprofessional the management is at this particular store. It's quite appalling. They seriously need to reevaluate their management and try to emulate Ralphs considerably more -- where the managers and staff are considerably more friendly. It's no wonder that Ralphs is always so packed -- better service, cleaner store, lower prices, and fresher produce. This particular Vons is utterly terrible and I will be sure to make a complaint to Safeway about it. read more

I have been in a lot of Supermarkets in my time - this MUST be the worst. I've never encountered more miserable employees in my life. It's so obvious they hate their jobs. Never, ever a word or a smile. And, there's rarely more than 2 lines open. Just stand there and wait in a line with 6 + people ahead of you. Really bad customer service - rather no customer service! Thank heavens the Starbucks crew are very nice and friendly. I think this store needs a greeter or something!!! read more
