Employees i have come across at the Shopping at Rose Vons there are great, but have heard the boss is horrible, word has spread around by employees that the new manager cory is a horrible store director and cuts into employees hours which often leads to less help for Checkers up front. Explains why there are always long lines. Very selfish man and has no business being a store director, treats his employees terribly, a friend of mine who works there has told me. I usually don't go to Vons if I can help it because it's so expensive unless I cut coupons. I went to go get the chicken they had on sale in there weekly ad and they didn't have it in stock which has happened more than once. So I went to the customer service and asked the totally unfriendly clerk for a rain check. She rudely told me that they have a 3 pack limit which didn't really work for me because if they had it in stock I would of purchased more than that. I have to say though they have an amazing assortment of beautiful succulent arrangements and fresh flowers. read more

Lets face it Vons is big time and groceries are not cheap here even with Vons club so it really bothers me that they have one, repeat one, customer bathroom that is unisex and completely gross! Management has the audacity to post a message about how cleanliness is important and to notify staff if it needs attention. Don't post that if you don't mean it, end of story! I have severe distrust in the cleanliness of the rest of the store, if this is what we can see what's happening in the areas we can't see!?! read more

This so-called pharmacy is the worst place ever. The employee turnover is constant, so nobody knows what's going on. Their inventory is laughable and the staff is unfriendly, lazy and not willing to assist their customers. They are grossly under staffed and the pharmacist is a condescending wannabe. Stay away from this place if you need re-fills or if you appreciate good customer service. The worst I've ever experienced, ever....and I've been a cancer patient for five years. Rude service! Horrible. Left with out groceries for my family all because my card had sharpie on it. It literally has my name on it. I offered to show my California drivers license showing proof that the card is mine. The lady went insane screaming and yelling at me. She not only embarrassed me she embarrassed herself. Never go here...I went shopping with my Dad and had to use the rest room...after asking for where it was I was told I had to go to customer service and ask for a token first. This Vons is an "eh" one. The need for my stop was strictly for driving home from LA to Santa Barbara and I needed to stop for a restroom break. I walked to the back and started walking along the last aisle because most vons/safeway have restrooms in the back. I was really in a rush to go and then an employee said, if you are looking for the restrooms, they are in the front. What! By then I was like get the hell out of my way everyone, lol. I was so disgusted with their restrooms hence the rating reduction. Grateful for their public restrooms but will hold it in next time and go to a cleaner place. read more

The store itself is fine, but they should be more cautious with who they hire. One of the cashiers had the worst customer service I've ever dealt with... she had the most disinterested attitude and never spoke or answered back. It definitely makes the experience shopping there completely awful when you greet a cashier with a smile and a good afternoon and all she does is stare back harshly and coldly without reply. This is our preferred store near our home and last night unfortunately changed that. My wife and I went in to get some slider buns to get ready for the SB and to our disgust we saw a huge rat running around the bread aisle. We notified the store personnel but you know that's not the first they see it. Hope they get that store back into sanitary conditions soon, I can only imagine the back room! read more

The lines here are always ridiculously long and blocking the aisle way for shoppers. I can never expect a quick stop here - even if it's just for one item. I don't understand why more lines are never open or why enough people don't work here. read more

The store itself is ok. What is really bad is their Pharmacy. I have been a customer here for for a long time, and this past year things in the Pharmacy have declined considerably. The older pharmacy tech with blonde hair, blue eyes, and an accent is terrible. She is unfriendly, rude, and plain unprofessional. Her name is Anita, I believe. The pharmacy manager is also very unhelpful. There is extremely high turnover and it seems that many of the Pharmacy employees are bothered by the customers. I hope upper management takes notice and hire professional employees once and for all. read more

Went in not to long ago to get my favorite sandwich and Kurt Walters can really pull it off!!! Not only was he kind and attentive, but put a smile on my face when I was having a horrible day! It is cause of him and this locations great customer service, that I drive from Victoria to rose just to shop there! Retain him and promote him!!!! read more

This Vons is less than a block away and I would rather drive to Ventura or Camarillo for groceries. Watch for out of date product. This has been a problem for about 5 years. Veggies not fresh. No meat butcher, guy in back says they order pre-cut and re-package to sell. When the employee came from the back of the meat shack he said every foul language in the book. My 8 year old really liked that but hey its the Nard what can you expect. Pharmacy gave wrong product and the girl in ringing you up about as friendly as terrorist. Every time I go here its horrible... The pharmacy is not that good unless you get this one angry bald man that always pretends my meds and my moms heart meds aren't there or aren't available so I always have to ask someone else if they are there so I can get them so that's worse... Many times he's talked shit to me... All I'm trying to do is pick up meds and shop honestly if I had a car and didn't have to walk everywhere with my 6 month old I would drive to a different Von's... Also the cashier with blond hair and glasses is horrible she's always mean and the first time I had to deal with her was when we had to purchase something with change instead of dollars me and my husband were counting the coins in front of her and once we were done she yelled at us to take them to the coin machine and to come back in line to purchase our item when we were done... The bathroom is always so disgusting... And today I had to change the babies diaper while I was there so I wiped the changing table down and found out that even though I locked the door people kept unlocking it with the code and barging in... Even when I would yell I was in there... And they would leave the door open when they left... So I don't feel safe in those bathrooms.... What if someone's child went to use one and a man came barging in?! Its not safe!!! I would say if you have a car and a choice don't go to this Von's!!! I wish I had a car v_v so I'm stuck with being harassed and such but I wouldn't want anyone else to go through such hell its not worth it!!!!! read more

My go to Vons due to convenience of location when I need to grab a few things. I am a SAMS Club/ Costco king of gal. Clean and well stocked. Staff are always helpful and polite. It's been a good few months since my last visit and not sure what it is but customer service has gone downhill. Waited in line for the 1 cash register that was open. Wait wasn't long. My turn. Hi?? Nope. Started scanning my stuff and she shouted pass me to talk to a fellow employee on how much she needed a coffee. How blah blah blah she continues talking loudly pass me. Ok my total comes up and I swiped my card. The guy who bagged my groceries says thanks and leaves. So I thanked him. They normally ask if I needed help to my car which I always decline but just thought it was another difference I noticed. Cashier hands me receipt and hands it to me. No thank you no eye contact the entire time. Maybe just an off day. Weird... read more

This vons is usually really clean, but every now and then I'll go into certain areas that doesn't seem to be in place. . There also light issues when it comes to the store where one part is bright and other parts are dim. Prices tend to be out of my price range as a college student, but it will sometimes have items I can't get at the neighboring fresh and easy. . Overall people seem to be nice and they do have good stuff, just don't have the money to go often. read more

Super long lines! Usually only have 1 or 2 lanes open. SHERRI the cashier doesn't seem to like people who use coupons. She brings out her magnifying glass and scans each coupon and checks total. She thought we were trying to rip off Von's! She's rude and defensive. read more

I shop for groceries and buy nearly all my medications from this Vons. I have had serious medical problems with my Knee for almost 20 years starting at the age of 11. I am now 28 years old and facing a knee replacement. I have been on pain meds for a very long time due to my knee issues and i decided getting a knee replacement this young would not be the greatest course of action. My doctor referred me to a pain management doctor and i saw him today for the first time. My pain management doctor wrote me a prescription for a large amount of narcotic painkillers and the for no good reason the pharmacist denied me and implied that my prescription was fake as i walked away worried about how im going to go on, continue work, school, and manage my pain. After walking nearly 20 feet away the pharmacist says "NO ONE AROUND HERE WILL FILL THAT PRESCRIPTION". SO RUDE! SO EMBARRASSING!... I walked across the street to Wallgreen's and got my prescription filled no problem... Ill never shop at this Vons again, including my family. read more
