Vons in Hollywood EaHo/East Hollywood to be more precise is one filled with lots of essential things as the huge hub off Sunset Blvd for grocery locals and passers through. Located a beat away from Children's Hospital and a light or so east of Vermont/Sunset Station off Sunset Blvd/Virgil Avenue near where Hollywood Blvd merges into Sunset B. Expect the usually cool bakery, frozen goods, cold beverages, canned must, fresh fruit, nice veggies and essentials for your fridge, pantry and household. I've been a few times this summer either for a quick snack and refresh to stay hydrated, picking up grillables for events, bbqs and parties or even groceries for on my way back home. Some isles and areas get shopped super hard and it's a little hard to upkeep on busy weekends or holidays, but they try. The Vons crew is always personable and truly provide great service, but it can be a lot so I always take someone's poor judgement of making a mess with a grain of salt, especially if nobody let's them know about it. Why someone would leave a pack of open tortillas on top of the Kinder's spices display, close to an end cap with only one or two missing is beyond me. The parking lot is fairly easy with entrances/exit off Sunset, Virgil and even Lyman Place. After I believe 7 or 8pm the far east side entrance is usually close, sometimes even earlier than this. All the carts on this side are typically looked as well to cut down on theft. One thing I do appreciate this summer is their markdown on a lot of plant-based options. I must of got at least a half dozen of Beyond Meat products this summer #WeLoveFoodDeals #VonsHollywoodKeepsItReal Open from 5am to 1am every single day for all your Safeway needs.

A big shout out to Hazel in the bakery department!! Hazel is amazing!! Vons is lucky to have her , the best customer service and ability to go above and beyond, you have a loyal Customer. The end result was amazing and I told everyone to go see Hazel.

I placed an online app order for $5 Friday at around 1 pm knowing that I'll be doing some other shopping in a few hours. It's very strange that all three of the Albertsons owned grocery stores don't have the same sales as Pavilions ($5 fried chicken) but Vons & Albertsons did not. So, I bought two bags of frozen jumbo shrimp, a value pack of choice grade top sirloin steak, 3 large haas avocados, a bottle of kefir, a large veggie platter (got substituted, no organic), frozen diced onions, and an organic bunch of cilantro. This order was processed in 90 minutes when I received text notification. I made sure to do a soft check in on the app prior to getting in the car. I'm not even sure if this signals the store that I'm on the way there. Please be aware to expect a busy parking lot. I believe the hospital employees also use the lot. Parking is terrible, I doubt that any of those cars in the other 5 pick up spots were here for pick up. I did an official check in and entered the parking space number. I cracked the windows a little so I can hear for the delivery. It didn't take but a few minutes when I saw the nice man in the rearview mirror. I got out, grabbed the phone and gave him the texted code I received. Sure enough, all the items were in the cart without any bags as I requested per the order instructions. I helped open up two bags and he filled them with the items. I was really happy with the fast processing and delivery service. I recommend that you do not do big orders as it'll take more time and effort to deliver. Or if you do a large order, splurge on the bags to have them ready to place the filled bags directly in your truck.

I've had nothing but good things to say about Vons until now. On Aug. 5, 2025 and the 4520 W. Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles CA 90027, I purchased $85+ groceries on Aug. 5, 2025, including 2 Langers juices that had a very strong chemical smell, so I poured them out. I call corporate and they tell me to call the store. The store tells me to come in to resolve it, AFTER I explain that I've poured them out. My purchase(s) can be seen in my online Vons account. Come in for what?! This place operates like they're in South Central Los Angeles in the Nickerson Garden Projects. Are they fucking serious?!

Excellent selection of sales taking place on Sunday Funday, 07/07/2024 when I visited this Vons supermarket in Los Angeles, CA off of Hollywood Blvd and Sunset. They had A lot of sales taking off such as Chips Galore, Drinks and more....I was in dire need of some late night coffee, and I stumbled upon my favorite brand, Peets' iced bottled drinks from Vons, LA, CA's fridge section. Yummmm. I used self check out so it was fast. Ambiance: 10/10 Service: Self Check out available, 10/10 Selection of Sales: 10/10 I'll be back if I'm in the area again. That was a fun find!!!!

Cockroach found

I hate this store!! a worker called me a slur and refused to give me service I also found a dead cockroach in one of the stalls, extremely unsanitary and dirty!! The food is dirty, moldy, and expired, one of the uber eats guys almost ran over my 3 year old child. WILL NEVER RETURN hope none of you come here.....

Sushi

The sushi Corner was visually pleasing and the workers were very friendly. Definitely worth the price, every Friday they seem to have 5$ deals as well which was surprising to see.

Their marinated galbi short ribs are delicious, their marinade tastes like restaurant quality. There's also a good selection of marinated meats. They also serve hot foods like Korean fried chicken, kimbap, fried rice, and japchae located towards the back of the store. There's also a good selection of banchans, and I love their kimchi. I had just come back from going…read moreout and ran into my mom in front of the elevator, and she asked me to go to the market with her. But honestly, this place is absolutely terrible and horrible. Both my mom and I agreed that we will never come back here again. My mom had come to get a refund because one of the pears she bought the day before was completely rotten. The market manager refunded $2 to her credit card, which was fine. The real problem started after that. When my mom was trying to drive out of the parking lot, the gate bar went up after scanning the parking ticket, but then suddenly came crashing down. If my mom hadn't quickly backed up, it could have hit her car. The bigger issue was that after that, the gate bar never went back up again. Cars behind us had to use another exit nearby. My mom, who was very shaken, went to ask the market manager what to do, but she said she didn't know. (At first, I stayed in the car and had to tell the cars behind us to use the other exit because the gate was not working). I was very upset when I heard that, so I went inside and asked the manager for the building management's contact number. She gave me a number, but when I called, the person who answered kept saying she couldn't find the address even after I repeated it more than ten times. Eventually, she told me they no longer manage that building. So I asked her to provide the contact number for the property management that handles the building, and she gave me another number. but it led to an automated system. After selecting the emergency option, a man answered, but even after I clearly spelled out "Zion" multiple times (Z as in Zebra, I as in Ice cream, O as in Oscar, N as in Nancy), he still couldn't understand and then told me that they no longer manage the building and hung up. We arrived at the market around 5 PM and didn't get out until 7 PM. No one helped us at all. After the call, I went back to the market manager again, but she still said she didn't know anything. It made me so angry--how can a manager not even know the property management contact for the building they work in? I also have low blood sugar, so when I get hungry, I start shaking. I ended up buying a piece of bread from the Paris Baguette inside the market. I didn't have cash with me, so I had to pay $3.50 with my card, but thankfully, the staff there was very kind. In the end, my brother had to come all the way from Burbank to get a new parking ticket for us so we could finally get out--after two hours. If he hadn't come, we might have been stuck there even longer or had to abandon the car. Thinking about it now still makes me extremely angry. The customer service is terrible, the building management is a mess, and there was no security at all. I never want to come back to this place. We spent two hours there, from 5 PM to 7 PM, completely wasting our time. Because of this, I couldn't do anything I had planned for the rest of the afternoon and evening. It was an absolute nightmare. My mom was also very upset and couldn't believe a place like this exists. FYI) Every time I come to this market, there is absolutely no cell phone signal., which is another major downside.

Similar to other Asian market set ups you'll be able to pick up hot food and other items like sashimi as well as other Japanese snacks and goodies. I also happened to pick up some good protein shakes on sale there as well as noted some other staples that I would find in big chain supermarkets. I found the aisles to be well stocked. Prices everywhere are going up so I wouldn't say this is the cheapest place to shop but for what you get it's not bad, and if you are looking to get a variety of what you need for Asian cooking this is a good spot for it. Service was quick and friendly at the register as this no frills and casual market. There is a parking garage behind the grocery as part of the mall but it can get crowded on weekends so if you're lucky you can find street parking but watch for street signs and some areas and streets are not in the best neighborhoods adjacent so be wary of your surroundings.

I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products! I'm getting my spices here from now on too! I'm a fan and I'll be back! Thank you Marcy and to the owners that had this amazing idea!
