Shopping in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California... Why is it so challenging to find postcards? Is it a dying past time? Is it an unprofitable commodity? Is it an unpopular type of merchandise? This was the fourth CVS store that I visited. (I tried Arcadia, Alhambra, and Hollywood on Cahuenga Boulevard before this location.) Eureka! I found postcards here! First of all, I found street parking without a meter on Hollywood Boulevard! When I walked in I saw postcards on a tall rack at the entrance! When it's good, it's great, when it's bad it's horrible lol Have to give genuine feedback back. Security is great (depending who it is) for the most part they are professional, with some being unreasonable. The employees are both good and not so good. This is the first time I've ever said something like this lol There's no improvement without genuine honesty. Some employees here are outstanding, they literally make sure every single client is seen, helped and acknowledged, while some are unrealistic. There's time where I got my debit card from my bag and they made me get in the back of the line on a busy rush of people lol I respect policy, everything is with discretion. I still have maintained good character and edicate after moments like that. Another time, I was shopping for a client, I was unsure what she needed, the manager told me I couldn't wait like that while In the isle, it drove me away as a client respectfully. I don't hate this location or people, I'm giving honest feedback. If they can model after the employees that make this place great, the cvs brand would be known for more than just a competitor, they would be known as the main brand of drug stores. Not entirely horrible just not as great as they can be. Street parking varies, love how there's many shops nearby. The best of all about cvs is their rewards and coupon system. read more

I will say I've had a better experience at this CVS than the one at Cahuenga Blvd. This one often has the medications I need in stock, and the pharmacists are friendly and extremely helpful. However, I will say if you need a couple of small things, you're better off getting them on Amazon because almost EVERYTHING here is locked up. I get it, it's LA, but still. "Oh no! A homeless person stole a $5 bottle of Water from a multi-billion-dollar company! Whatever will the company that made a monopoly from screwing over people via the pharmaceutical industry do?!?!", like come on dude. In addition, trying to get my Adderall refilled here (or at literally any CVS, really) is such a damn pain. FFS, how is it that every CVS Pharmacy within a 10-mile radius of me is completely out of the ONE medication I need to help me function? I know it's absolutely not the fault of the pharmacists; the people blaming them are directing their anger at the wrong people, but regardless. Please get your shit together, CVS. read more

So I've lived in Hollywood for over 3 years now and this CVS has improved their staff in the last few months. Shoutout to Marla who was extremely kind ! 1) Don't come if you're in a rush! Almost every self care necessity is now locked up, you'll need to push a a button for lock assistance for alcohol, toothpaste, all other self care products too. It's not too big of a problem unless you're in a rush. Please come with patience. 2) Be extra vigilant if security isn't present Riff raf show up to cause ruckus when security isn't present though it happens very rarely. 3) Pharmacy is great, everyone is kind and answers questions etc. Thank you to all the new staff that are consistently working hard, you're seen and this regular cvs customer appreciates your work ethic! read more

I've lived near this CVS and used it for years. I've been meaning to make a review because their rating is so bad, and I find that to be undeserved. Majority of the time, the employees are super helpful, kind and sweet. They're truly hoping to be your ally and I've had so many instances where they go out of their way to help me save the most money that I can on my purchases. They are genuinely helpful and honest individuals most of the time. Sometimes they aren't, which is what the rest of these reviews rely on, but consider: these people are getting minimum wage. Hollywood is a dangerous city and the people they deal with aren't nice to them. There's been crime inside and outside their store, so they need to hire security. Most of the time employees are snappy because they're having a rough day and people have abused them or mistreated them as customers regularly. I think a lot of these bad reviews need to understand, this is JUST a general store. These people aren't paid enough to give you top dollar service, they're just humans doing their best and enduring MANY rude, abusive, and even dangerous people on the regular who don't even give them a basic amount of respect that an individual is owed. Most of the time, when I encounter a snappy or rude employee, I show them patience and kindness and they cheer right up and apologize and explain the awful things that've happened to warrant the behavior. Sadly, too many of them brighten up significantly when I show them simple kindness and empathy. One or two bad apples can happen, but their employee turnover rate is significant because it's a temporary job for all of them, nobody works at CVS forever. So all of the employees shouldn't be judged for one performance. I have an infinite amount of good stories compared to bad ones. Consider being kind to one another and understanding of people's circumstances, and your world will be brighter. These employees are a group of lovely people doing a vital service to the Hollywood community by giving us vital general materials that we locals need in our day to day lives. We are human. Everyone gets grumpy or tired or exasperated sometimes, that does not make this store or its workforce irredeemable. Thank you for your service CVS employees! read more

This CVS has really improved since the last time I went in there. I never wanted to go back after my last experience there, but I had no choice. I had a terrible cold and needed something to stop me from coughing before a concert near there (not Covid--lung damage). So, in I went. The security guard was the first person I saw and asked him where the cough medicine was. He was super helpful. I found what I wanted and got in line. The line was not long and this time the staff was really nice. I am so glad that last person is either gone or not there. I was coughing and said to any one near me, that I don't have Covid just a cold. They were all very nice and took care of me fast. I was very appreciative and now I will go back. read more

Came here yesterday. They had incredible deals this whole week! Sometimes even better the grocery store (on certain items). Plus their monthly membership perks are awesome and come in handy. Jake helped me out, he was outstanding. He had a bright attitude, made the lines go quick and when it was time pay, he was very kind and professional. UPDATE 12/19: spoke on the phone with Evelyn who corrected the situation and apologized for the employees from last night. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Went to buy cold medicine, the store would not honor the online price in-store. It was only 80c difference, not sure why they couldn't just mark ti down and honor their own advertising. They directed me to order with the app for pickup, but then once I had placed the order they said it was not yet in the system and they could not give me the item I paid for, even though I showed them the receipt. Huh? Now I've paid for the item and they won't give it to me. They accused me of stealing and told me never to come back, even though I clearly paid for the item. This is nuts. Does it make sense to not honor your own advertised price and then when I try to use your app to place a legitimate order your employees act snarky and won't just release the item after seeing the receipt? Make it make sense! Honor your advertised prices, empower your employees to do basic transactions, fix your app, and don't accuse people of stealing after they pay for your overpriced items. This location was alright. I only stopped in because I was on the quest for a certain ice cream that wasn't expired over 3 months (don't ask.) I found this to be a smaller store, but the people I interacted with (security and cashier) were pleasant. And no, they didn't have the ice cream I was desperate for. Pull into the garage off of Argyle, it's 20 minutes free parking . MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR VALIDATION IN FIRST, it even says so on the ticket but I'm yelling it here just to make sure. And no, I didn't mess it up but that is certainly something I would do. read more

I come here all of the time! It's such a convenient location a hop skip and a jump away from the metro station, the grocery store, the gym, and next door to my favorite coffee shop! The checkout process is fast and smooth, which is hard to find - they even have self checkouts ! They ALWAYS greet you with a smile and say hello and are sure to wish you a nice day when you leave. The store is very organized and employees are always eager to help! When they are out of items you can get rain checks , and be sure to sign up for CVS REWARDS , it will save you a bundle! The more you spend the more you save and they even give you free CVS money to spend in the store. There is ample parking between the street and the garage. Can't really say enough except this is probably the cleanest and friendliest CVS I have ever had the pleasure of walking into! read more

Just wanted to give a shout-out to the pharmacy staff for handling some disgruntled patients with the utmost grace today. Great selection of every day items right on Hollywood Blvd near the W hotel and the Hollywood/Vine metro station. The cashier was pleasant. She greeted us on the way in and was very nice during checkout. A regular CVS, it has all the essentials like snack, water, refrigerated items, beauty products, etc. Nice lighting and ample windows make this a bright, modern, easy to navigate store. read more

Arrived here at 9:30-store closes at 10. I come here at least twice a week so I know that is accurate. The security guard had already locked the door and was refusing to let anyone in. I had placed a pick up order several hours ago for same day pick up. I never received a notification so I waited until 9:30 to pick up. I specifically waited until then so it would give plenty of time and also not be too close to closing. So frustrated. read more

This review is for the PHARMACY only. I had to get a prescription filled and my doctor called it into this location because it's close to my workplace. I'm usually not a fan of CVS as the previous CVS I refilled my RX at had the worst customer service so I eventually transferred my prescription to Ralph's. Anyway, since Ralph's was unable to procure my prescription, I decided to give CVS another try. David was the pharmacist on duty and he went above and beyond to help me. I wanted a particular brand and they were out of it, so the alternative brand wasn't accepted by my insurance and would have cost $60 out of pocket. But, he found a different brand and called my insurance and was able to get them to cover it for free! Seriously, no pharmacist has ever taken the time to be so thoughtful and accommodating. I highly recommend this pharmacy because of David. He even called me back a week later to inform me that he was able to get the brand I wanted and I could go back and get it. I can't speak for the store itself, but it seemed fine when I briefly perused a few aisles. read more

I walked in and was greeted by Mirna and I was so impressed with her customer service ! She helped me find what i needed with a smile and even checked inventory on an item in the backstock room. Before you get a covid vaccine, make sure you contact your doctor to see which vaccine would be best for you. I got my covid vaccine here and had a positive experience with the pharmacy staff that helped me with it. The reason I am not giving this store more stars is because the associates/cashiers in the main store (not pharmacy) are extremely rude, and have no basic customer service skills. They also do not let you use the restroom. This place should let customers use the restroom, especially if we are giving you business, getting a covid shot, or having an emergency. If it were not for these inconveniences, this store would be great. read more

Let me start by saying this part of Hollywood is the definition of congestion and tourism. The CVS is surrounded by popular local businesses....SoulCycle, The Hollywood Pantages, Dunkin Donuts, The Fonda Theatre, Shake Shack...you get the idea. It's right on Hollywood and Argyle and right off the 101. You'd think it'd be a headache to get to....but no. They validate parking (the structure entrance is on Argyle, off Hollywood), it's so clean, and very organized! They have become my go-to stop when I'm in the area. Honestly one of the worst CVS locations. The consultants gave me the wrong medication for a head injury that caused me to have even more issues. They are always late to restock medicine that has run out and when you ask them, they can't even be bothered to check the back. This pharmacy is awful. Refills are never able to be done on time for a wide variety of excuses. If you have to call to check on something, you'll be on hold for at least 15 minutes. They will completely close at random times for a lunch break because for some reason they don't have anyone who can operate the register when the pharmacist is out. And I've had medications that have come back with the wrong count/short. My expectations for CVS are low already, but this location is exceptionally bad. read more
