The market had a huge selection of merchandise from Japanese snacks and beverages to grocery items, housewares, beauty products as well as some special and unique items. We were able to spend a fair bit of time walking the aisles looking over items we don't usually get a chance to see too often in Las Vegas. I really enjoyed how many options there were and the overall feel of the store. Visiting the store was a great way to end our time in Little Tokyo and we actually picked up a couple of items to bring along on our travels! Marukai Market is definitely worth stopping by while visiting the neighborhood! There are so many different Japanese snack foods. If you need to do some grocery shopping as well in the area for your hotel stay or are looking for something new to check out, this is a great place to stop by!

The store is clean and well stocked. The lines for registers tend to move fast. Parking is free for two hours in the structure with validation. Always understaffed at the registers, the employees clearly hate their jobs and lives and there's one check out guy who screams at customers to move through the checkout line because he's afraid he'll get stuck ringing more people up than his counterparts. He's a super aggro, you'll likely feel like punching him in the face annoying. Yes, you know who you are sir. I hope you read this. So....if you don't mind obnoxiously long wait times to check out and an insane check out clerk yelling at the customers like you're in boot camp this is a great place to shop. It's called Canyon Coffee, but the menu has a rotating selection of espressos, so I'm assuming. The cashier ladies are nice, a bit slow, but there's a seating area so you're not in a long line while a bunch of people wait next to you. They always close the hot foods early so if you need to customize any drinks or order a matcha first, be sure to go to the espresso station and then the cashier station, before purchasing groceries. Better than Lazy Acres/Bristol Farms. L.A. G&C blends in beautifully with the community the market with space set up for craft collabs and the holiday fair, and integrates nuances as distinguishable as Erewhon's, but defines its offering apart from other markets. The hot food bar definitely needs improvement and definitely not for those prices. Lacks flavor and the temperature is always cold. -_- I went there 3 days in a row and noticed The cucumber salad isnt fresh and made daily. Tried it and trashed it. Tried the Cortado and Latte and their espresso is very bitter and lacked depth. Most of the staff on the floor are rude and are "checked out" and very unwelcoming. He doesn't believe me, looks at me accusingly, and makes a face. He continues to ask me for a receipt. I repeat the same thing over and over again. At this point, I'm shaking. I ask him to please take a look at the CCTV, and if he saw me stole. To all of MY questions, he doesn't say anything. Why? Cause he has nothing to say. No proof. The woman and man who work there at the customer service state that it's just security's job and that I should've told the guard when I entered that these snacks are already bought. Falsely accusing people of shoplifting with zero proof is part of security's job? Towards the end, I'm so heated that I give security the snacks that I DIDN'T STEAL and he has the audacity to say Do you have more? and looks under the stroller. This market is actually crazy. I asked her how things worked and she explained it all. The kefir/kombucha bottles are $4 for 16 oz and they have 3 of each on tap. I asked Marcy about one before realizing everything had a QR code and you can easily pull up the ingredients and descriptions/directions for each item. I'm getting away from plastics and this place scratches me right where I itch! They sell just about anything you can imagine! I was so impressed w the selection! They even have produce and fresh sourdough bread! The day old is 50% off and I'm so mad I was in a pinch and had to buy store bought bread, otherwise I would've tried it today. I can't say enough. Even the music was fire and I was shazaming and jamming. Shower gels, body care, non seed oils, baking mixes, laundry pods and things you see in bulk at like Sprouts, but the quality and sourcing seems to be better. Some items don't need jars and they sell paper bags for .10 each. I did a kombucha/kefir tasting. Marcy brought these steel bowls over. No waste at all! If you drink the POG kefir soda at Erewhon and love it, try it here! It's made w fruit and is noticeably better! And POG there is my fave. Just try it at Re_!!! So when I was checking out I asked Marcy about being more prepared and bringing my own glasses next time. They've thought of everything!!!! There's iPads and scales in the front of the store. They weigh your empty containers and give you a sticker with the tare weight and then subtract it from the weight at the end! Revolutionary! They add 3% for the employees. I should've added more. Marcy was amazing and worth it. I'm honestly not big on tipping everyone for just breathing but if all the employees are like Marcy, they are worth way more than 3%! If you sign up you get 100 points instantly, $1 = 1 pt, and at 200 pts you get $10! It's not hard to spend in places like this but it's beyond worth it. I keep seeing things about the harms of plastic and don't get me started on all the other crap in our food. I foresee this as a new staple in my diet and home. They even have cleaning products!
