NO MORE RAIN CHECKS!!! Just to let shoppers know. I probably spend $5-6,000 per year at this store. Or I should say used to. Today I went there to shop and as usual found several items that were advertised as sale items that were not in stock. This happens all the time with their FAB 5 items. Today they advertised diet Dr Pepper, not on shelf, and when I asked they said they were out. The same for the orange flavor MIO. That can happen once in a while but when I asked for a rain check, as is the policy elsewhere, they told me they don't give rain checks. I'm never going back. read more

I have been a loyal Vons Customer since the 1980's (Crenshaw and Olympic) and since moving to Quartz Hill in 2006, I have been a loyal customer at the Palmdale Location; Store 3017, where Tony La Barba has been at the helm for most, if not all of those years. In spite of the flux of the condition of the store over the years it still remains my go to store, and Tony and most of the staff are always very pleasant and helpful. Today I made one of my many stops and was in Raymond's line behind a mask less woman who Raymond engaged in conversation. Raymond asked her if her not wearing a mask was from her being "defiant" or because of the mask mandate that was recently lifted in LA County. The woman perked up and proudly said "defiance!". She went on to say that she was an educator and was required to wear a mask all day at school and that it was "insufferable" and just "so unfair" for her and the children blah blah blah. I totally respect her decision for herself, but what was unsettling for me was the fact that Raymond loudly expressed his worthless opinion saying he "totally" agreed with her, and went on to say how much he hates that his "company" Vons requires their workers to wear masks; and said he disagrees with wearing masks period just as he disagrees with the vaccines because none of those measures protect any of us! As a company person on duty at that time, serving the mask and maskless community he should never have expressed his personal views nor publicly objected to his company's rule or mandate. He should have never given his personal opinion especially on such a polarizing topic while in the workplace, where everyone should feel welcomed. I was disgusted by their loud and obnoxious conversation and high-fiving attitude, and the fact that they were holding up the line with this worthless banter. Do better Raymond! Just keep asking folks if they have their Vons card and keep it pushing. read more

I drove by this location due to the fact that we were making a beer run! This Vons location has by far the best beer selection I have seen in a grocery store chain. I am used to seeing typical domestic beers at my local stores, but this location had some of the best choices such as Hefeweizen, Newcastle, Guinness, Grolsch, etc. Very clean store run by very helpful staff. Wish I lived close by here just for the beer selections! I know this review seemed only focused on the beer selections but to make it short and simple, clean store, well organized, friendly staff and a killer beer selection! read more

I buy most of my produce and vegetables here. They are fresh looking with no bruises noticed. I use the bakery for cakes and bagels and the area where the hot chicken are displayed. I buy my meats from the case and from the butcher depending on what I need. The hours of operation work very well for me since l am an early bird for shopping. The employees are friendly, helpful and smile a lot. read more

There are a lot of food allergies in our family so I'm always on the look out for things that are food allergy friendly. I love that I can find Tofutti cream cheese and sour cream, Daiya cheeses and cream cheese (team Tofutti all the way though), as well as Earth Balance dairy free butters and spreads. The only other place that I've seen carry Earth Balance in the AV is at the Whole Wheatery and their prices can be a little steep sometimes. There's also a small section dedicated to gluten free products. They do carry some gluten free bread but those are mixed in with the regular bread in the bread aisle. I appreciate how they have different styles of gluten free bread besides sliced loafs (i.e. ciabatta, etc.). They do carry wheat free pastas in quinoa and veggie forms but I've either overlooked any rice pastas or they simply don't carry them. read more

I don't know why people slam the Deli Department. They are the best. They are very friendly and courteous, a few years ago there were some rude ones,but that has changed.If you want a great sub or sandwich this is the best in the Antelope Valley hands down. A 6 inch is 5.99 and a footlong is 8.99. And they use quality meat. Real Turkey and Roast beef,not that pressed water filled crap. This store, while well stocked and comfortable, is dark and dreary to shop. I understand saving electricity, but parts are so dark as to seem closed for business. Ever hear of skylights people? Secondly, the lines are almost always ridiculous. Why have 10 or so lines and even when busy you only open three or four? My last trip here on last Saturday, was typical...long lines, only a few lines open. The line I was in was the worst. The bagger, seemingly dressed like someone of position, was glacially slow and inept. He dropped the groceries of the couple in front of me. Even though I only had less then 10 items, he was still catching up when I had paid and was ready to leave. Maybe some company sponsored coffee would help... read more

Usually enjoy my experience here until recently. I saw a think of wings for .99cents in the heating table (or whatever it's called). Just to make sure, I asked the woman at the deli counter to scan the price on the tag. The woman could barely speak English for one, and then she goes over to the other woman behind the counter out of confusion, then she RIPS the sticker off of the package and then comes back to me and asks "how much was this?" Bitch! It said .99 cents. I asked you to scan the sticker. Plus it is ILLEGAL to remove a tag off of an item that has already been displayed. Her sheer ignorance and lack of language skill infuriated me, and I just said forget it. Can't shop somewhere with incompetent people who can barely communicate with me. read more

Google claims this Vons used to be a Safeway store. A few weeks ago, this Von's wouldn't cash my check unless I was an employee. nforming me that the fees they would take would make it not worthwhile. We're talking about a whopping $6.86 check made out to me from a Rodman V. Safeway Esrow Account. THIS IS MY SETTLEMENT PORTION OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WON AGAINST SAFEWAY ! (Rodman vs Safeway) where Safeway was accused of charging more for groceries ordered online (for home delivery) than the in-store grocery price; yet advertised that there was no price difference in the groceries. I even informed the customer service employee, (and her manager) that I intended to spend all of the check proceeds in their store. WOW, VON'S, NOT VERY GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! PS: The Von's manager did recommend I try Advance America in the same shopping center, where I was informed that they no longer cash checks either! read more

If I gave a review based solely on one item that I didn't find, Vons would receive a solid one star.. I've been craving Little Debbie products since past weeks and this is the second Vons I've come to. I entered with high hopes but I only left the same as I did on my first exploration to the previous Vons franchise in West Palmdale: sorrowful. There is demand here and it needs to be supplied by those boxes pictured with that cute Caucasian ginger girl. Only Little Debbie can revive my smiley smiley goodness and until I am reunited with those small delights, I refuse to return to Vons... I will never buy an ounce of meat here ever again. This is the final straw for me. I bought so many Tri Tips that are supposed to be trimmed. When I get them home and out of the package I find a fat cap of a half inch to an inch thick EVERYTIME. This has also happen to me on several pork and beef roasts at this location. I understand that a fat cap is normal for roasting but as you can see by the photo the $10 worth of fat weight is non sense. It's a money grab. Elsewhere I go. read more

Disappointed in Vons Deli customer service. Went to Vons today around 2:30. Had a very bad experience in the Deli section. I was totally ignored as I stood in front of the chicken section waiting to be assisted. Then 15 minutes later a heavy set girl came to assist me with an attitude. She had no time to listen to my requests and then became angry when I told her it want wrong. Her tone of voice was short and discourteous. It took everything I had to control myself from asking her for her name and asking her why she was acting like that. If people cant have any common courtesy they should not be working with people. Vons should have surveys at store to report such rudeness. read more

This Vons is probably one of the nicest looking grocery stores in the AV. Not only that, but they ALWAYS have plenty of people working the registers so we don't have to wait that long. They have great deals on their cookies. 50 fresh baked SOFT cookies for $5. I can't NOT get them, and it sucks because i probably end up eating more than half of them in like 2 days haha ughhh =[ But as far as selection, service, cleanliness and value, this vons has it all. So my wife was at the store this morning and a guy behind her in line was whispering to her that if he stabs her in the neck the devil made him do it. He kept repeating this statement over and over and a little bit louder each time. Another man at the atm machine overheard this and came and stood near my wife. Thank you for that kind sir. When she got to the check out clerk she complained and was told yeah that guy is crazy he says that stuff all the time. What? Really? You allow this in your store? Needless to say my wife got out of there as fast as possible. When she got home she called Vons corporate customer service and they told her that she should have just left the store and they were more worried about being sued by the crazy guy then her safety basically. When my wife asked her if the guy had actually stabbed her would they take responsibility for it the customer service representative was silent and gave no response. This is not the only issue with this store and harassment of female customers. I have witnessed it before in the parking lot and ran a guy off that was pestering a young woman. This is a great vons, the hours are long so you can come early to get starbucks or do grocery shopping late after work. Do be careful though because there was a homeless guy in there that was following me around in the evening. Not the best selection of meats (although definitely not terrible...I was able to find a whole duck to roast, but it was frozen). Other than that, this place is THE BEST place to get groceries if you're stationed at Edwards. Sure, it's a drive, but as long as you're planning your Lancaster errands, you can be sure to do your grocery shopping here. The deli and produce sections had a HUGE variety of quality choices. There is a Starbucks inside, also. Pries are high-ish, but I expect that for quality food, so it wasn't surprising, and it was still within the realm of reasonable, for me. read more

This is a pretty nice Von's compared to other stores in the AV. It has a very nice selection of produce which I like and their shelves are always pretty much stocked. This location also has a Wells Fargo inside including ATMs AND a Starbucks!!! One stop shop if you ask me. The checkers and the staff can be a hit or miss. I've had some really nice people help me while others look at you with disregard (I'm looking at you checkers) but other than that it's pretty much a good store. Out of all of the grocery stores in Lancaster, this is my first choice. I actually used to get all of my groceries at Walmart, because they were inexpensive. Vons is a bit more pricey, but they make up for it with their customer service and products. The shelves are always stocked and no matter what time of day it is, the employees are always friendly and willing to help you, not to mention, the store itself is gorgeous inside. read more

The only good thing the pharmacy has is the girl at the counter. Shery I believe her name is. The others treated me like if I did something wrong. They were supposed to call and verify my meds.( new rule) when they called they didn't ask the doc the correct questions. So now I have to wait more. So far 4 hrs. I've always admired the customer service in all Vons stores I've been to so my 5 Star Review might not come as a surprise to most people. Vons is the store close to my house and I love shopping there. Everyone is super friendly, always offering to help and going the extra mile. The entire store is always clean and organized. Today, I had a really great experience with this really nice person helping me ring my items. His name is Luis and he was extremely nice and helpful. I've never seen him at the registers before. Thank you Luis for helping me with my plant and listening to what I had to say. I recommend this store to all my neighbors, you'll find nothing but the best produce and best customer service, all the employees will greet you with a big smile on their face. There are five stores around my house that carry grocery items. I actually drive out of my way to shop here. The store is always clean and well stocked. The staff is friendly and helpful. The vegetable and organic selection are awesome. Things cost a little more here but it is well worth it for a better shopping experience. read more

I really don't know where to begin last night I stop by Vons normally my go to place is across from were I live at Albertsons. The reason for going to Vons was to get a few stuff and see what pastries they have. I bought the small package of sugar cookies for $3.50 and oh my they were hard and stale. Albertsons has fresher ones. The cookies suppose to be soft and chewy. Yuck had to throw them away. To top off my trip I saw a criminal that did time for robbing a bank I used to work for. She was just standing there looking around with a basket full of stuff waiting for someone. The idiot recognized me. Lol I should of said something but she is not my problem. I am very pleased to say that the Von's bakery items/cakes are amazing! This Von's is pretty far from my home but since I work close by I've always had my cakes and cupcakes ordered here. Nancy the cake baker/decorator is wonderful! She makes the most beautiful/ tasting cakes and cupcakes ever! The staff in the bakery department are really nice and sweet as well! I had originally ordered three cakes from the Von's in Palmdale, thinking all Von's were the same; two cakes were to be picked up the day of the party and one of the cakes was to be picked up two days before the party. Let me tell you, I was not happy with the way the cake looked nor tasted. The cakes were for my daughters bday party. I was really disappointed. The morning before my daughters bday party, I decided to pay the Von's in Lancaster a visit and talk Nancy, the cake baker/decorator, see if she'd whip up two cakes for me, considering it was last minute on a weekend. I explained to her how I wanted the cakes to look, how much frosting to put and the colors of the cake, she said she could do it :) The day of the party I was running around picking up balloons and other items needed for the party. I drove all the way to Von's in Lancaster to pick up my cakes. I was amazed! The cakes looked beautiful and perfect! I was so happy and pleased with the service I wanted to tip Nancy! .... To bad you can't; Von's policy. She did an amazing job with my cakes! Nikki one of the bakery staff was really nice, she helped me to my car! Spent two hours in the store shopping with their app, coupons, and ibotta. The staff on the floor was more then friendly. Went to use the app at checkout, and the cashier had no idea how to help and was rude about it. Ended up walking away from a basket full of groceries.
