Well I'm trying to figure out how to start a review but I'll just say this I got that mentions $5 Friday at Vons I basically write a big check in 8 pieces you get for $5 now no I did not eat all eight pieces thank you very much, but Vons has customer service always been consistent whether it's here in lavergne daughter in Inglewood on Manchester going to Pasadena customer service all three has been consistent friendly professional and the food is always been good so I guess that's how I start review just saying kudos to the corporate office and kudos to Vons! read more

This Vons gas station is close to our home and also close to where we shop. The station itself usually has very competitive prices, so when I do not have time to run over to Costco for gas, we usually shop here. The station is clean and has about 4 islands with pumps. I gave the station only 3 stars because getting into and out of the station is just a nightmare! The access is terrible and is is almost always a mess trying to get in and out. There is a little market attached to the gas station so if you need a drink or something you can get it there. The station also gives discounts based upon how many points you have on your Von's Club card. The station has an air and water station and also has things to wash your windshield. Who the heck needs a yelp review of a gas station?!?! Well this one takes the cake! It's always super clean and they have dispensers of hand sanitizer at the pump! THE BEST part is that if you want to pump air, there is an intercom button to let the attendant know! Their convenience shop also sells items at the VONS store price instead of a huge mark up like most gas stations. 5 starts much deserved! read more

This review is mostly for the Starbucks, well the barista that is. She was just standing around ignoring me as I was standing at the register ready to pay and order something. I asked if she was still open and she driedly replied "yes" . So I ordered a cold tea and I tried being as friendly as I could because I'm new to the area and hopefully become a regular. She was super monotone and bored. And i asked for a bag for the cup I purchased she looked so bothered, like dude! Its just a bag. Anyway, I wont be a regular that's for sure. read more

This review is for the Vons gas station but since they don't have their own site I'll leave it on the Vons on foothill app. Went to go use the Vons gas station noticed they had new gas pumps. The pumps were extremely slow, and they didn't automatically shut off. I noticed four vehicles that were pumping gas at the same time as I and every single vehicle had gas spillage because the sensor on the pump did not automatically shut the gas off. This must be fixed asap. Poor clerk was running around apologizing and cleaning the gas off the vehicles read more

So after the upland experience I thought let me try Albertsons ..... nope !! Charged me wrong and my reward coupon would not go through!! I took Dawns advice and contacted customer service .. Gwendolyn said she was so Larry and would refund my 2.00 .. should have been 3.00 but anyways .. no refund in my account still . Chocolate fudge 1 and 2 layer cakes used to be delicious, using high quality frosting. Same with the chocolate eclairs. The cream puffs don't contain any cream, and should therefore be renamed to dessert puffs or non-dairy puffs. Too bad. read more

I Definitely Love this Vons to do my grocery shopping. I came in around 930ish to get some crab salad for my mother-in-law and I asked the woman behind the counter if She can help me and she replied, "sorry, we are closed." So basically I was a little bummed and started walking off and this young gentleman named Michael came behind me and asked what did I need? And he took care of me with such kindness. Could've been much better! Vons has a terrific flower department so I went to get some flowers the Saturday morning before Mother's Day. Sounds simple, right? Nope. I went to the refrigerated section and was told it was blocked off for customer safety. Okay. I get it. Then I found a lovely flower arrangement and went to ask for a box and was told I had to go to the front to get it. I told them all I wanted was a box and it was "too much of a hassle to shop here". I set down the flowers and left. (Btw, the aisles were so cluttered, the shopping cart wouldn't fit through them. So I then went to Stater Brothers and it took two minutes to grab the flowers and check out. I used to be a Vons customer for groceries, but stopped a long time ago because the check out line extended to the back of the store. Bad system. Today's episode reminded me of why I am no longer a Vons customer. read more

There aren't very many Vons stores in the area and I came here for the first time and it was good. Lots of open checkouts during a busy day a couple of days before Christmas so the line moved quickly at the self-checkout since they have a lot of them. Usually, other Vons stores have no self-checkouts and only have a few cashier lanes open so the lines are long. The items were well-stocked as well. read more

There are a few other gas stations by the Foothill Offramp in LaVerne Ca. Von's Fuel is usually the best price but its down the street from the freeway entrance so it pays to venture into this little town. This is also a very well lit and clean location and snacks are available at the grocery store in the next parking row over. read more

Last week at the Deli: Me: can I have 1 pound of turkey breast? Hands me 1/2 a pound -_- Flash forward to today: Me: can I have 1 pound of turkey breast Tries to bag 2 pounds -_- I come every single week to get my kids lunch. I order the exact same items every Sunday night. I don't expect anyone to know what I order but 1 pound of turkey is pretty generic and common I would say. This Vons is actually a great store. Just as an FYI please don't leave your grocery items in the hand held basket when putting them on the conveyor belt. The cashier Stella in the express lane made it CLEAR nonverbally by aggressively taking the items out of the basket, putting them on the belt and by being short in her responses that this was a major no - no. My family & I are frequent quests of this Vons, as we live up the street from it. I recently turned 21 & decided to purchase a bottle of wine for the occasion. When I was at check out, the cashier pointed out my license had expired, which I was well aware of. I had to explain to her that the DMV has extended all expired licenses from March to May of 2020, which I looked up before even heading to the store just to avoid complete foolery(LOL). She still denied this & immediately rang for her manager who I had to re-explain this situation to. Manager had replied to me saying it's their policy to not accept expired licenses. Which I completely understand, under normal circumstances, but we're far from normal right now. A friend of mine actually came into the store with me, purchased the same item as me, with no problem, even though her license was expired like mine as she was born a few days before me. We were at the check out stands at the same exact time. I had asked the manager why they accepted her expired license and not mine & she replied with "because it's you." Today I used Vons Delivery as I am unable to drive lengths of time nor be on my feet for to long. I went to Vons Delivery.com and signed up did my shopping and voila today they showed up with everything. Warren was my driver and he was excellent and even placed my groceries in the house for me. Paula I spoke with earlier on to confirm the time of delivery was kind and efficient as well. This store is located in great spot! I always do curbside pick up. Place your order on line then you choose date and time for pick up. Once you up to stall you call in and they bring groceries out plus load up in trunk for you. Zero contact for people concerned with covid. Same coupons on line and club card pricing. 8-18-2013 VON'S GAS STATION OF LA VERNE UPDATE... Gosh, just verified that VON'S GAS STATION OF LA VERNE has a cash and credit card price point. A Yelper brought this to my attention and I just found the non-illuminated board sign with the cash price posted. The cash price is not posted at the pumps or on the red illuminated price signage. This is very disappointing for our La Verne Von's to pull this trick on its loyal customers. Therefore, I must take a point away from my original rating. Kudos to Adam! My Fab5 priced-items were at the regular prices after checking out and reviewing my receipt. Two of the packaged cheeses were the wrong type (shredded vs. sliced) which disqualified the offer. So I waited for the cashier who now had 3 customers in line. Adam saw me and asked if he could help. He explained and directed me to get the correct packages. Once an upscale, great place, Vons in La Verne looks tired. The store today was as messy as I have ever seen it with multiple handles of refrigeration/frozen food broken and glass panels missing. Not the best customer service. I tried buying olives but was told it was closed despite the trays being full of olives. Good customer service would have been to let me know that they were almost done 'stocking' them and to return in 5 mins. Today I specifically called to see if they had a garlic loaf I was looking for and they did but she told me I needed to be there before 5:30 cause they were closing early. I got there at 5:20 and there was a couple young workers outside saying no one could come in. I told them I called ahead and he was very rude and swinging his arms saying no . I asked him if I could speak to the manager and again said no. I went to my car and called the store. Was out on hold twice and hung up on both times. So I went to Staters Bros. Up the street and they were open and serving customers. When I got home I tried calling again today told the lady on the phone that I'm trying to get a hold of a manager she said she would but me through on line 1 right away . Breakfast potatoes in the produce area, 1lb 6 oz wrapped in saran wrap instead of the old plastic container for 2.99 Product used to be sold in a plastic container that was resealable. Now it comes in a produce tray wrapped with plastic wrap. I cannot eat 1lb 6oz in one setting and miss the old containers. I'm not going to repackage this every time. The product dries out if not used right away. You're just giving me a reason to shop somewhere else to save half a penny on the packaging Otherwise, I like the store and love the people. I like the store, great produce, nice bakery, cashiers are pleasant my issue is with the Deli, theres a short, older , dark haired woman with no name tag, I keep getting her when I order. She was cleaning the floor when I stepped up to the counter, she glances up and says she'll be with me in a minute then continues cleaning .I'm the only customer there stop what you're doing and assist me and go back to it. Then I'm walking out of the store with my bags of groceries I decided to get some chicken to take home, she packaged it and I said I'd like to pay for it now, she says she has no way to ring it up I'll have to get in line to pay for it. I tell her I've already paid for my groceries and don't want to get back in line so I hand her the container of chicken back and she aggressively pulls the lid off and tosses the chicken back into the display case and says "I don't know what to tell you ". These are examples of a few encounters, I actually avoid the deli if she's working. Vons, please do some customer service training. This is our neighborhood and the people who work here are part of our everyday lives. All of the staff members working in the checkout lines are the most important public face of this business. Today I went to Vons in the morning. Due to the Covid19 pandemic the line was longer than usual. The customers were anxious. There was just one check stand open. The customers were greeted by Faith, one of the regular checking staff. Faith is a gem. She is always a cheerful face , a kind word, a caring member of our community. She had a line with more than 30 customers waiting to check out. She still projected a bright and sunny outlook. Faith made my day. Thank you! read more

Such a marginal store. I highly recommend if you need to shop specialty items for diet restrictions to go elsewhere. Vons has started carrying gluten free and dairy free products but in my experience the majority of the time, like 80%, the products are out of date. I can't count the times I've had to return items for being out of date. I guess that's my fault for not checking in the first place. But, when you hurry in just to quickly pick up a few items it's so irritating to get home and find your products are out of date. Secondly, how many times have you purchased meat and when taking it out of the package find that the underside is so bad you would not have chosen that package. I even tried selecting from the counter with the meat cutter. He held up a nice piece of meat and I purchased it. Stupid me! Do you think I asked him to turn it over and let me see the underside? My last and final experience was enough to warrant to leave such negative feedback; and it was enough to inform everyone I know never to come here. I refuse to support a business that treats his customers so poorly. The particular manager, or lead, of the night was beyond rude, obnoxiously dismissive, and belittling. Instead of explaining policy to us, because we were confused, she refused to attend us. We are all adults; and she treated with such impatience ( it was almost hateful). I just wanted to forget the experience all together, but I cannot, I'm good conscience, leave it be. I want people to be aware and for people to change. People like Jacqueline should not work there. Vons has had continues expired food on shelves for the last 9 months, and it is getting worse! My wife and I have returned milk, yogurt, and many other consumable food items that were bad. Some of the items have been bad, although they were not expired, and many of the items were expired. For example, one item that we purchased was Nestle's Boost drink, which was expired six months ago (February 2020), and we purchased it in September. My wife drank and got sick. the things that came out of the bottle were hardened macaroni type flat, about and inch wide things that were sickening!!! Vons did not do anything to make things right, I have contacted the corporate office and even Nestle company! Shame on them!!!! read more

Not happy with Vons Club pricing. Too easy to be overcharged or miss out on coupon specials as happened to me today. Cashier said she forgot to take the coupons off. Manager did some quick calculations for money back at the checkout but my review of the receipt at home still showed me overcharged almost $20. Do I really need to check the register price as each item is scanned? Club pricing seems to benefit the store to the detriment of the unwary. Vons misleads with advertised specials that a shopper must be vigilant to obtain. I'll stick with the non club competition. read more

The folks at Vons Pharmacy are the BEST. They always go the extra mile to ensure we pay the least cost for every prescription. I mean they ALWAYS take the time to see if Good Rx or some other venue will get us the lowest price. They are also really great about calling you back if they are busy or working with the insurance carriers. A full service pharmacy with best staff around. read more

This review for the pharmacy dept. I never encountered a problem with the cashiers or other staff. Everyone is nice at Von's. Except the pharmacy dept. I say hello and none of the women acknowledge me standing there. I was there Thursday morning and stood there for 3 mins. No greet no we will be right with you. There was no one waiting. This is why I canceled all my prescriptions and moved them to another pharmacy. After this day my husband will be transferring his refills another pharmacy. I've been here a number of times and have never encountered a negative experience. Most the time I am there is for the bakery or lunch... I will say today it took a while for someone to acknowledge me at the deli. Stood there about 2 minutes and nobody greeted me or let me know they'll be with me soon. It was 9am on a Friday so not too busy of a time. Other than that I would say the workers are great and the store has basically everything I could need! Including Starbucks!
