I have Always come here for the fresh tortillas. They make them daily and always a good deal. Recently, bought the 80 count and it only had 68. I count them to store in freezer bags for future use so that's why I know I got short changed. I hope this was just a one time mistake! The meats are priced better here though and they have a much larger selection of cuts compared to other large chains. Today I came only for the Tres Leches cake. I got an 8 inch Tres Leches horchata cake that came out to around $23. Can't beat that price anywhere else. I prefer a super milky/drenched Tres leches cake and this was spot on. However, on 11/14/2023, I was served by Martha Rodriguez who also asked if I'd be interested in buying the shrimp they had on sale. And informed me there would be some real savings if I used the online SUPERIOR GROCERS app, which I didn't know about. I gladly uploaded it onto my phone and applied for the coupon which would save me money on this visit. I was able to buy the first pound for the promotional price along with getting a second pound for free. If that's not a great deal, what is? I look forward to receiving any future promotions. I just purchased some meat, I asked for 2 lbs of prepared mean which the who helped stated they were out so I asked for 2 lbs of un-prepared meat and asked for them to prepare it for me. The man weighed the meat pieces to 2 lbs then walked to the back to add some of the seasoned juice and re-weighed the meat. He add about 1lbs of this seasoned juice so when he weighed the meat again it was almost 3lbs. He then priced the meat at about $20 when the price was $6.99. The bakery is great, and the grilled (NOT the roasted) chicken is unbelievable. Best around. But the Taquitos were rock hard. I gave them to my dog, a puppy with his brand new adult teeth, and even HE had a rough time gnawing on them for a while. As a grocery store it's alright, the prices are good, but don't expect to find your favorite shampoo or mouthwash. Their selection of hygiene products is very limited. They often have a very good deal on prepackaged taco meat, asada, carnitas, and a third kinda all packaged together, over a pound each for just 10$ You get the best prices here if you buy multiples. Most of there best deals are "must buy 3" or "must buy 4" so keep a really close eye on those price tags to make sure. read more

I've been going here since they first opened, just to get Carneasada. Back then, it was very sketchy, creepy and gross, stank, and most of the produce was old and rotten. It has come a very long way! It's still somewhat sketchy, lots of sketchy people in the area. But, good news is they hired security to help keep shoppers safe, and they've cleaned it up inside a ton! They have an amazing hot and ready food grab and go with Mexican rice, beans, soup, whole or half rotisserie or fried chicken. They also added a floral department recently which is lovely. Produce is 100 times better, I actually like their produce more more than Vons. Wide variety of fruits and veggies, and tropical vegetables too! Love their fresh made tortillas, and salsas. Carneasada is the best around here at their butcher counter. Wide variety of Mexican sides, spices, and sauces. DONT COME HERE FOR: Chips, drinks, pastas, or canned foods. This place is great for bargains, I love the bakery department here. Purchased several cakes throughout the year and yesterday's chocolate cake did not disappoint. It had several large marmalade strawberries on top covered in chocolate with chocolate filling. Everyone enjoyed it. Only cost $12.99 prices are so reasonable here that's why we purchase all our cakes here. Plus they can customize any cake. Only downside is the surrounding area has gone to crap! They have a security guard on watch to assist with homeless area in Pomona. At least go during the day and park close to entrance. read more

Sometimes I eat burrito or tacos inside the store. They have like a small canteen and you can have some Mexican food. Disclaimer: I rarely if ever shop superior so for me I didn't expect much,but my mom occasionally comes here for items not found in abundance in most of the suburb chain stores. Also let's be real,the ethnic stores are cheaper with the heavy demand meats & produce ! Check dates on their merchandise . Just noticed today I bought expired noodles from here . Just an FYI since I don't want to waste the gas over some 99 cent food to get my money back but in the future will stick to 99 cent store for these items as they're always shockingly in date there . Next,Some of these staff needs major customer service training! My mom asked an employee rotating the meat around if they had any turkey wings and they did not but then as my mom searches other meat items,this chick trailed behind fixing packages she'd just moved as if she were following a toddler and picking up after him. She's not that busy where she couldn't have done that after the customer moved on . It's a flaw in service etiquette happening here ! You never know could be a language barrier or racial that motivated her behavior. Lastly,I've tried the in house flour tortillas at both el super and here and honestly the processed Romero's from Walmart come out on top everytime. Idk why and a close runner up is the Diana's tortilla brand . Even Smart & Final house brand tops these stores . You'd think they'd have tortillas down to a science but no. We attended the grand opening weekend and have gone back frequently, since my boyfriend lives a few blocks away. Such a great supermarket with tons of different international products, quick and easy for a last-minute run for most things we need. The good: - Bakery section - One of the market's best features. Tons of professional-looking, beautiful, fresh cakes, desserts, pan dulce, and other goods. I definitely plan to make this my first stop the next time I need a party cake. Don't miss the freshly made tortilla chips, either! I keep a bag around and snack on them all day, by themselves. You can judge me, my boyfriend probably does, but I don't care. They are amazing. - Meat/Seafood - top notch! Delicious marinated carne and pollo asada, prepared ceviche, and even fresh cheeses. - Liquor/beer/wine. Great selection, and most of it is cheaper than other stores! I would not give them 1 star if I didn't have to. The butcher Romiro is prejudice and so is the other heavy set guy didn't get his name. I waited for 15 min while they helped everyone else but me and I was only white Person waiting. Romiro was a smartass when I told I had been waiting and he said "I said next" but he said it in Spanish I told him sorry I don't speak Spanish he said oh well and went to help the people who came after me. He is rude and condescending and prejudice. I will not be coming back to this store. I have been coming here for 4 yrs and never have I been treated like this.
