This VONS is awesome for many of the same reasons other reviewers have stated - it is very clean, organized with a super friendly and very helpful staff. I visit this location once or twice a week and with every visit I am asked if I need help finding something at least 2-3 times. My only criticism is in that they do not carry some items that I used to buy at Albertson's on a regular basis - like light minute maid OJ for example, so I still need to visit other stores. I did inquire on whether this store might be able to carry the products I was looking for - one of the employees took down my name and number, did some searching around for me and called me to let me know that they were unable to carry those items. So, waiting in line with one person in front of me and there's a problem with the person's order. They purchased about 10 to 15 gift cards and cashier made a mistake. So instead of ringing me out I was the only one there, she calls in another ringer and moves over to next register and starts ringing out others...wow and leaves me hanging not even telling me what's happening. I had to ask to be rung out! ...wow so wrong! So I ask about the situation and if I could be quickly rung out as I had a few items ... the cashier gives me a face and does not even acknowledge the situation. I was treated so poorly by the cashier and then the manager Page who starts questioning me and not even acknowledging the situation. Overall very bad customer service! This situation was poorly handled by both the cashier and manager. Overall the store is showed poor organization and customer service! It's too bad it's giving the Vons name a bad rep! My daughter had a wedding planned for 200 people at a country club for May 24th. This was cancelled due to covid19. About a week before the date, they decided to get married in the back yard with a few family members. I approached 3 stores to have a wedding cake made for their celebration and all said they either needed 3 weeks notice or some were not even making wedding cakes. I was so happy when I went to the La Verne Vons and spoke with Jessica about a wedding cake. She was extremely helpful and spent time with me to make sure the cake would be just what I wanted for my daughter's big day. When I picked up the cake, Jessica put it into a box and even carried it out to my car for me. She also gave me a small tube of frosting to adhere the cake to the cake stand. I don't know what I would have done without her, she really came to the rescue. It was beautiful, and I received many compliments. I will try to post a picture but am not sure how to do that. Stock/Night crew is RUDE!!! If you come to this location any time after 8pm be prepared to deal with the rude night crew and stumbling over merchandise just to get down the aisles. Mind you the store closes at 11. Night crew stacks tons of boxes of merchandise right in the middle of all the aisles making it hard to shop. They then look at you like you're inconveniencing their work. There's tons of boxes EVERYWHERE. Is Vons waiting for a lawsuit to happen from someone tripping over a box and hitting their head or what?? Why not stock the shelves when the store is closed? Had a night crew member purposely stack boxes right in front of my cart so I couldn't move anywhere, she looked at me like I was in her way. Thankfully another crew member saw her do that and came to move the boxes she put in front of my cart. This Vons location obviously doesn't value their customers. I don't need to struggle to go grocery shopping after work, I'll just go to one of the other various grocery stores on foothill. read more

This Vons deli also makes fresh sushi, that seemed to be pretty popular during the lunch break, not to mention their very popular chicken deals! This Vons is the best. It is pricey sometimes depends on what you get. But I'm paying for the best customer service Ever! I love Judy in the Deli very nice and quick. MaryLou, Amiee and the rest of the gang in the Pharmacy are all ways super helpful and kind. Never have a problem with them. Cashiers are great, so friendly they greet me everytime I come in. Usually 4 times a day because I have no life. The general manager is cool, he gives a big donation to my son's school. Jim is also cool guy, so are the other managers, and key carriers. Dairy deli guy is funny and nice. The deli is stocked and fresh. Just like the bakery. I've never was unable to find a product there. They all ways have what I need. If their is a problem the gm or other managers fix it lickety split! FYI: The lunchables are beyond expensive. But that's the only complaint. :) read more

Roberta in Deli was super helpful. MANAGEMENT!!!! you need to give this girl a raise. This was the 5th vons I've been too looking for a specific olive. All of the other vons around this area were not helpful at all. I explained to Roberta the situation. You can tell she actually cared. The olives I wanted were not out for picking so she stopped what she was doing and physically went in the back and opened up some fresh ones for me. She also put them in the large cup too. Never in my life have I experienced customer service like that. Fast, friendly and compassionate. The service around the store is great. The employees are always friendly and helpful. This is what happens all through out the store... Except at the Deli department. I love their sandwiches but it's always like pulling teeth. No one ever wants to go make them! I always end up waiting forever for someone to help. Like another reviewer noted: they always say they will be right with you while walking away. They could at least call someone else to help. I understand they could be busy with other tasks. There are 2 gentlemen in particular who always have attitude: Manuel and another heavyset man. Avoid them at all costs! Everyone else is nice just not willing to help when you want a sandwich. I've been going here since Vons Gas station opened. My family shops at Vons so we always get discounts for gas. The only problem with this location is the traffic. Depending on the time and day you might have to wait awhile. It can be frustrating when your in a hurry. read more

Just went to Vons for the first time. Only needed a couple of things but couldn't find an over the counter drug. Since I was standing in front of the pharmacy I thought I would ask the pharmacist where it was. Big mistake. I stood at the counter by myself fo 3 minutes with no acknowledgement from the two people working 5 ft away. I then said "excuse me" and was told they would help me when they got a chance. Then they went back to unpacking boxes. I waited another 3 minutes and walked away because my time is more important than that. read more

Bakery Review: Wow...very impressed! I was hesitant to order cakes from Vons since it was a party for my mom's 70th bday party. I went a few days ahead and bought a single slice of carrot cake just to taste the quality. It was delicious, so I decided to go ahead and order. I went in and Alyssa helped me. Extremely accommodating, was able to create a theme that was not in their sample book and helped me order the perfect amount of cake for 60 people. Everyone at the party raved about the cakes...they were delicious (they thought they were home baked). I went with carrot cake w/cream cheese topping and chocolate cake with fudge filling w/buttercream topping. Extremely pleased with service & quality. read more

This is the best gas station. It always has the best gas prices. Even before the discount if you have points from shopping in the store. I hear people say that cheap gas is not as good but I think that is all a myth. I track my mileage and I know that I get just as good mileage with Von's gas and any other gas station. read more

This is the worst vons ever. The bakery is a mess, they are making cakes, pastries, etc. and not wearing gloves. Checkers so busy talking to baggers, nothing gets done. This Vons is amazing! The courtesy clerks are all so sweet and helpful. Its very clean and everything is laid out nicely. And my favorite, the restrooms are always very clean! I love this store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I wasn't thrilled with the remodel, but the way that the store is arranged now makes more sense. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because they often seem to stop carrying things we really like. I also love the Starbucks in the store. There was this extremely rude Vons worker named Karen that raised her voice when me and my friends asked a very simple question for clarification on a sign. Her extremely rude and unprofessional actions mad me and my friends VERY uncomfortable and unwelcome at the store. She and another associate had spoken to us with such unnecessary anger and rudeness that we can no longer see ourselves coming to this store. Karen also aggressively grabbed the baguette from my hand without even listening to the entirety of my question. In addition to this, I had mentioned my hearing impairments because I couldn't hear what she was saying which seemed to have just made her angrier. I'm sorry if I can't hear Karen but, it is not my choice. Speaking of my hearing impairment, that shows even more that she was yelling at us seeing that even I could tell they were being exceptionally loud. I can only imagine what it must've sounded like to other customers to hear such unprofessionalism and unkind words to a bunch of teenagers who were just trying to get some clarification. Not only this but while I was waiting in line to pay for my groceries, I had to sit and wait for a good 4-5 minutes as the customer who had completed her purchase sat and continued to gossip with Karen. Karen egged on the conversation with this customer knowing full well that I was waiting in line and that she was still on the clock. I was not aware that Vons associates also get paid for gossiping.
