I really really like this Vons. It is new, always very clean, modern looking and houses an amazingly helpful staff. You will always be greeted with hello and they will even ask you if they can help you find something. I one time asked if they stocked something and they took my information and did some digging. They even called me back to apologize that it was something not something Vons had in their inventory anywhere. The meat counter guy is a riot. I one time could not find Old Bay seasoning so I asked him. He kept saying, never heard of the stuff. In fact, he did not move to help me find anything. It was because there was a huge display of Old Bay Seasoning right behind him. The fresh sushi is a great plus. She will custom make anything you want and is there all day till 7pm. I am impressed at some of the more unique things they have on the shelf but they are limited to the size of the store. A little more space with custom items like make your own candy bags or trail mix and I would be in grocery store heaven. Also, the person who commented about the price baffles me a bit. I find this store to be quite affordable, especially with my Vons card. I have shopped the San Dimas Ralphs and Alertsons and always feel I am paying more. I am a Vons bum because I work in the same shopping center and come in every morning for their Starbucks. This VONS is awesome for many of the same reasons other reviewers have stated - it is very clean, organized with a super friendly and very helpful staff. I visit this location once or twice a week and with every visit I am asked if I need help finding something at least 2-3 times. My only criticism is in that they do not carry some items that I used to buy at Albertson's on a regular basis - like light minute maid OJ for example, so I still need to visit other stores. I did inquire on whether this store might be able to carry the products I was looking for - one of the employees took down my name and number, did some searching around for me and called me to let me know that they were unable to carry those items. I went back today for the first time in five months since Melissa in the gas station store was so awful to me. Wouldn't you know it she was there again. I bought $20 in snacks and gas too and she doesn't even say hi she lectures me on how I parked. I can not believe that Vons keeps her working there with such a terrible attitude . The service around the store is great. The employees are always friendly and helpful. This is what happens all through out the store... Except at the Deli department. I love their sandwiches but it's always like pulling teeth. No one ever wants to go make them! I always end up waiting forever for someone to help. Like another reviewer noted: they always say they will be right with you while walking away. They could at least call someone else to help. I understand they could be busy with other tasks. There are 2 gentlemen in particular who always have attitude: Manuel and another heavyset man. Avoid them at all costs! Everyone else is nice just not willing to help when you want a sandwich. Just went to Vons for the first time. Only needed a couple of things but couldn't find an over the counter drug. Since I was standing in front of the pharmacy I thought I would ask the pharmacist where it was. Big mistake. I stood at the counter by myself fo 3 minutes with no acknowledgement from the two people working 5 ft away. I then said "excuse me" and was told they would help me when they got a chance. Then they went back to unpacking boxes. I waited another 3 minutes and walked away because my time is more important than that. read more

Bakery Review: Wow...very impressed! I was hesitant to order cakes from Vons since it was a party for my mom's 70th bday party. I went a few days ahead and bought a single slice of carrot cake just to taste the quality. It was delicious, so I decided to go ahead and order. I went in and Alyssa helped me. Extremely accommodating, was able to create a theme that was not in their sample book and helped me order the perfect amount of cake for 60 people. Everyone at the party raved about the cakes...they were delicious (they thought they were home baked). I went with carrot cake w/cream cheese topping and chocolate cake with fudge filling w/buttercream topping. Extremely pleased with service & quality. read more

Now workers walk past you without an acknowledgement let alone offering to help you with anything. The women in the floral department act like you're bothering them when you ask a question and they ignore you. The five star review is definitely aimed towards this Vons meat&seafood department in particular, I've visited other locations but this one really provided outstanding service and quality . I've been going here since Vons Gas station opened. My family shops at Vons so we always get discounts for gas. The only problem with this location is the traffic. Depending on the time and day you might have to wait awhile. It can be frustrating when your in a hurry. read more

There was this extremely rude Vons worker named Karen that raised her voice when me and my friends asked a very simple question for clarification on a sign. Her extremely rude and unprofessional actions mad me and my friends VERY uncomfortable and unwelcome at the store. She and another associate had spoken to us with such unnecessary anger and rudeness that we can no longer see ourselves coming to this store. Karen also aggressively grabbed the baguette from my hand without even listening to the entirety of my question. In addition to this, I had mentioned my hearing impairments because I couldn't hear what she was saying which seemed to have just made her angrier. I'm sorry if I can't hear Karen but, it is not my choice. Speaking of my hearing impairment, that shows even more that she was yelling at us seeing that even I could tell they were being exceptionally loud. I can only imagine what it must've sounded like to other customers to hear such unprofessionalism and unkind words to a bunch of teenagers who were just trying to get some clarification. Not only this but while I was waiting in line to pay for my groceries, I had to sit and wait for a good 4-5 minutes as the customer who had completed her purchase sat and continued to gossip with Karen. Karen egged on the conversation with this customer knowing full well that I was waiting in line and that she was still on the clock. I was not aware that Vons associates also get paid for gossiping. Karen if you see this, I really hope that $2 loaf of bread was worth it. read more

This is the best gas station. It always has the best gas prices. Even before the discount if you have points from shopping in the store. I hear people say that cheap gas is not as good but I think that is all a myth. I track my mileage and I know that I get just as good mileage with Von's gas and any other gas station. read more

This is the worst vons ever. The bakery is a mess, they are making cakes, pastries, etc. and not wearing gloves. Checkers so busy talking to baggers, nothing gets done. This Vons is amazing! The courtesy clerks are all so sweet and helpful. Its very clean and everything is laid out nicely. And my favorite, the restrooms are always very clean! I love this store. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I wasn't thrilled with the remodel, but the way that the store is arranged now makes more sense.
