Came for some takeout from here on my way home on Friday June 9th. This place is conveniently located right off the 580 freeway, Airway exit in Livermore. I ordered the large fried chicken combo. What I like about this is they offer different combos of how you can pick the meat. You can get either 5 drums with 10 boneless, 15 wings, or 10 wings & 5 drums, hopefully I'm getting that right. I also got fried onion rings, cheddar fries, & spicy rice cakes. The rice cakes were really good, they had really nice texture, and sweet flavor. I would probably request them to be a bit spicier next time, then they'd be perfect. The chicken was really good. You get a good amount of chicken portion wise on the large order too. I had to drive another 30 minutes home after leaving then go to an event once home. On our way back from Santa Rosa to San Diego, we stumbled across this hidden gem. Korean BBQ Chicken in the middle of nowhere, what a treat!! We ordered the E. Crispy Fried with Honey Butter. Since we ordered this to-go for consuming in the car, we opted for the half order boneless chicken for $15.99. It was so yummy, I wish I had ordered a full order for $30.99! The order came with 2 sides of pickled daikon. It was a bit pricey, but so delicious! The place was very clean, nicely decorated, and they played K-pop music and had a K-drama on the TV. I came here after going to the outlet in Livermore and it seems like there were many people getting take out but I decided to dine in since I thought it'll be easier. It took around 30 minutes to get our food and many people were waiting on their food for a while as well. So I wish they prepared better but the chicken was really good and worth it however the fries and kimchi rice could be better. However the guy who was getting the orders was really sweet and was apologizing to all the customers for the wait and gave us sauces and radish without hesitation. We've done plenty of take-out orders from this location and it has always been on time and still hot when we get home. Crispy Fried Chicken-Crispy chicken fried and coated with soy garlic glaze. Nice and crispy with a great coating of the soy garlic glaze. Great soy flavor that still remains crispy and the chicken is juicy. Honey Butter Fried Chicken-Another crispy chicken with a sweeter coating of honey butter. One of my kids favorites. Crispy YANGNYEOM-Whew, medium still got some kick. But you can still enjoy the juicy chicken. Mandoo-Crisp dumplings coated in soy glaze. Crispy on the outside and tender filling inside. Small location with plenty of easy parking. Was watching all these cooking shows showing Korean Fried Chicken (KFC). Decided to order some chicken from Vons Chicken. I was kinda confused when I first heard about Vons Chicken. It's not chicken from Vons, but a separate entity called Vons Chicken. Ordered 5 piece drumsticks (half order). Wound up being 7 drumsticks in the box. All were delicious. Got the Crispy Real Garlic Chicken. Fried chicken with a light sweet sauce. Lots of garlic flavor. Each order comes with a small container of pickled radish which helps cleanse your palate. Order was ready when they said it would be. Lady behind the counter was friendly. Didn't order Japchae this time, but that's always good too. read more

Korean fried chicken bears no resemblance to Kentucky fried chicken. If American style fried is what you crave, your urge will not be satisfied here. If Wingstop style wings are what you crave, that urge will also go unfulfilled. At Vons you really get Korean style chicken, so get you gochujang taste buds ready and have a moist wash cloth handy to wipe your sticky mouth and fingers. We ordered japchae as a side order. We ordered two, but one would have been sufficient for the two of us. The japchae was ok butvlacked flavor and there were very few veggies in it. I wasn't sure how the portion size would be for two harty eaters, but what we ordered was ample. We had two orders of japchae and a half order each of crispy yang nyum and soy sauce black vinegar chicken. The yang nyum was not crispy, but a very gooey chili paste based coating that was very filling. The soy vinegar baked chicken didnt have crispy skin, but was flavorful. We only ate half of what we ordered because we were both unpleasantly full. The chicken and japchae were ok day 2, but lost some flavor and we only ate it because we had spent so much money on the meal. If we ever go back, one order of japchae would suffice two as a side and actually 10 drums was enough for two also. We had ordered wings for part of the order, but only received drums. Compared to other fast food places offering chicken and wings, we thought Vons was over priced at $77. The setting is clean and tables and seating comfortable. There is complimenary hot tea. The person who takes orders was polite and helpful explaining the menu to us. Overall, I dont think we will be back. The chicken just didnt hit the feel good spot that either home- made, or southern style fried chicken hits. Also, its too expensive for what you get. When the Korean urge hits, we will stick with the local sit down Korean restaurant in livermore. read more

My second time visiting Vons Chicken and my first time at this Livermore location! This Vons is located in a smaller area next to a busy Starbucks close to the freeway. There's plenty of parking though and they have online ordering. I came in Saturday for lunch and ordered online. My order was ready in about 25-30 minutes. Inside, it seems indoor seating is limited as there's only 4 tables inside (and 1 outside), with each fit to accommodate about 4 people. It's extremely clean however and the employee assisting us was pretty nice. We ordered the Vons special sauce (half order, boneless), crispy fried (half order, boneless), honey butter wings, sweet potato fries, and mandoo. The crispy fried were a bit dry, the sauce was good (I wish I ordered extra sauce on the side though)! The Vons special sauce came in a cute container and was super moist and had a great flavor. The sweet potato fries being waffle fries were a pleasant surprise - had a perfect crunch to it with every bite and came with ranch. The honey butter fries tasted okay, but I appreciated how it came with a lot of the powder. Mandoo was very crispy and also tasted good! Definitely a lot better than the location in Dublin. I wish I had gotten the wings (maybe it could've helped with the dryness in the meat?) but overall it was a great experience! read more

KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken ) has been spreading from the heart of the Bay and reaching further and further out. This location is currently the newest Vons addition, introduced not so long after its other location in Dublin. If you've had Vons before, you'll know what to expect here as well. Fresh and delicious fried chicken. Our go to's are always the Yangnyum and Crispy fried chicken, asked for extra crispy. You can't go wrong. Their fries are also pretty tasty, but the rest of their sides are comparable to other locations. When it comes to KFC spots, Vons is usually my choice in regards to chains. However this location still has a few rough edges through their soft opening. Here are some of a few things that need a bit of work. Their orders took about 10 minutes longer than other locations we've been to, despite not being as busy. But they did finish on their eta. The service wasn't particularly bad, but it was lacking attention . Other locations give you half cole slaw and half radish for your sides. You can ask for all of one or the other. This location didn't bother asking, so I assumed I'd get the half and half, but I got all radish. Speaking of lacking attention, my soy garlic chicken was missing the soy garlic glaze. Very saddening. I'm hoping this location will pick up on these little details as they go along and become another awesome Vons. I'll probably come back after giving them some time to work out their rough edges. read more

Needed something to eat for dinner because my hotel room was nearby. I had a taste for wings and thought I would check this place out. Prices were pretty decent and I ordered the bone in wings. The woman at the front counter suggested I get the signature flavor wings so I tried them. Definitely was pretty good. But I was surprised to find they gave me two chicken legs and two chicken wing dings. Put them at the bottom so I guess they thought I would not notice it but I did. Fortunately, I like chicken legs, so it didn't bother me, but I think it's pretty deceiving because typically people expect to get wings when that is what's advertised. I got a salad instead of fries and it was OK. Had a lot of large chunks of iceberg lettuce mixed in with spinach and other items. Probably won't go back, but the food wasn't bad. read more

I love this place so much, after binge watching Crash Landing On You (k-drama) for the past two days I was craving some Korean Chicken. Went on Yelp and saw this place. Made my husband drive to pick up our order and LET ME TELL YOU, wow my cravings have been fulfilled. Their spicy friend chicken is so good, so flavorful and so crispy. We also got an order of the japchae, it was fire . This is my go to spot from now on, check out their lunch special if you are wanting to try the different chickens they have.
