Getting anything done in a nail salon while we re-emerge from our Covid-19 shut down was NOT on my to do list. BUT--I injured myself and cannot bend my leg up to cut my toenails and do my own pedicure! So off to Mia's! I was SUPER pleased Von was taking appointments. I would recommend doing than Vs walking in, at least for a while. She then will text you the Covid-19 questions, and alert you when it is time to come into the salon. Thank you for keeping us all safe! When walking in, I found every other station set for a client. Surfaces that were NOT wipe able had paper covers on the chairs. Techs were gowned and wore gloves for the entire service. I have been here a few other times over the years and they always use a plastic sink liner-which is why I go here when I don't do my own nails. I was ecstatic to see instruments getting opened in front of me for my pedicure. I hope Von will continue to keep this practice for all clients post Covid-19!! The first time or two I went there (maybe when she first opened) this seemed to be a practice, but then it stopped at some point. Von, if you read this, keep up that UV tool treatment and the bagging! I have never been a fan of the callous remover tool (the cheese grater thing) but it was offered up and started. I asked the nail tech (didn't catch her name) to not use that and she didn't seem even slightly bothered by my request. Shaping of nails and polishing job were fantastic. Went to Von Few times for my nails. Then decided to do Microblading. Brows were great for a few weeks. So was looking into doing the micro-needling. Well then COVID-19 closed the store. So stayed in contact with Von without the pandemic. So when the store started to open up. She told me she could get me in for micro needling. Well I decided to postpone it due to vacation being so soon. But I said I really need my nails done. Then see blocked me and won't text back. But when I used my husband phone and text. She wanted to know what services are needed and what me name was. Wow not good customer services at all. Then told her who I was! Beware!! You did not get back to me at all, so I text you asking SHOULD I go to a different nail salon if your not going to get open in time. So you were willing to put needles in my face but not do my nails. OK so the name of the location has changed...Levi Nails or something like that. OK so I rarely rate 4 stars...much less at a nail salon, but this place was exceptional. When you first go in you'll notice the decor is nice. Crystal lamps, large comfortable foot spa and a nail drying bar. My nail technician was an older woman who's English was rather good which made it easier to have a conversation with. Her attention to detail was much appreciated. She was patient and really made sure that my nails were cut evenly and polished evenly. Finally she gave me a really nice design on my nail that was not an extra charge. Wow as for first impressions it couldn't have been better, not only was she polite and professional bit she was fun and great for kids. Noone else talked with enthusiasm and excitement about the party more like ' yea we can do it we have to but don't expect anything special or discounted. Tina was totally different I'm not gonna lie the price was a lot more age appropriate and she actually even sounded excited. I've been coming here for at least 6 years and I absolutely will not let anyone other than Von (the owner) touch my finger nails. She is extremely meticulous and the sweetest person ever. I've been getting the dipping powder mani here for a year or so and my nails have never been stronger or longer. Von also does my eye brow waxing and has even microbladed my brows and I am OBSESSED with them. She really outdid herself on my brows- I get compliments practically daily and I love that they are zero effort. I called today to get a last minute appointment for my 7-year old niece and I to get manicures. They were very busy, so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes before we were able to be seen. Luckily the "fancy" decorations and two canaries kept my niece entertained. The woman who did our manicures was friendly, professional, and fast! We were both finished in about 30 minutes. I discovered this about 6 months ago and am addicted. I've gone to other salons for dipping and they have left the base coat or top coat over my nails and this has resulted in peeling of the polish or I have picked at it. This salon is one of the cleanest nail salons I have ever been too. That for me makes everything else worth it. The ladies were very nice and it was clear regulars have good relationships with them. I went as a walk-in and got a basic mani/pedi. Basic is anything but basic here--the pedicure includes a lengthy leg massage, and the manicure was also extensive. Be prepared for it to take awhile--not a bad thing, but something to expect. The only minor negative I'll say is that I felt that my nails are not shaped as well as I've had before, especially on my toes. There are some spots that are a little jagged rather than fully rounded out--nothing that would catch but not a perfect shape. I wanted to wait to try a few different nail salons around Zionsville before writing a review of any of them. Ya know, to compare them all. So far, of the three I've tried, I've liked Mia's the best Why, you ask? Easy - 3 reasons. First and foremost, cleanliness. While I've only been there once, it was clear to see that Mia's sanitizes their tools regularly. In fact, I saw at least 4 sterilizers behind the manicure stations, and I saw my manicurist take the tools she'd be using straight out of her sterilizer and open the sealed package. Second, their color selection for gel polish was excellent, and the manicurist was very patient as I struggled worth indecision! So many choices! Eek! Third, my manicurist, May, was so patient and gentle while also being very thorough. Unlike some manicurists at other salons I've visited, May did not attack my nails with a vengeance, stabbing and cutting like a mad lady. Rather, she worked efficiently and gently, paying close attention to detail. When I clumsily bumped my nails when putting them under the lights to cure the gel...not once but TWICE...she patiently and kindly fixed them without losing her patience or complaining. Suprise! I thought of a fourth reason I really liked Mia's - they did not rush their work on me to get to the next client. It was lovely. In short, I'll be back! read more

This nail salon is okay. Had to wait 20 minutes to get started without anyone telling me it would be that long. My pedicure was flawed in that cuticles were trimmed at the end, no cuticle remover gel was put on the stone before buffing skin, all nails have a different shape and polish application was sloppy. Toward the end my big toe cuticle was roughly scraped to even out polish lines. Furthermore, I asked for my nail corners on big toe not to be clipped... and she clipped the corners. I decided against adding a mani because I've already been here 1.5 hours. This was a waste of precious time away from my 1 year old. read more

I was only intending on getting a fill, but because of Von's excellent knowledge of nails, she recommend that I get a full set and removed my previous set and it was very evident they were not done correctly. Von was very kind and wonderful to work with. From the time appointment (was able to text to secure the apt) to the end I was very pleased. Von is the best. If she is in the salon and they are not busy - this place is wonderful! The color selection is fantastic and the decor is super cute. However, if Von is not in the salon or if they are busy, then it's a total waste of time. You get put into a chair and wait for 45 minutes instead of just being told that there will be a wait for services. They are then so frantic that the work is sloppy and you are rushed through. I don't go anymore after 4 and certainly not on Friday/Saturday. But the last time I took a long late lunch on a Tuesday - my gels lasted for almost a month. Great place - hire more staff! read more

This is my absolute favorite nail salon! I've been going here for about two years now and I've never been happier with my nails! Von is FANTASTIC!! She's kind, knowledgeable, dedicated to making sure you're completely satisfied with your experience, and she's great at what she does! I'm picky admit my nails because I'm a nurse and my hands are in water all the time. I want my manicure to last, so Von suggested dipping powder. I LOVE IT! Came here two weeks ago and got an almost-perfect shellac manicure (it was a little rushed). My pedicure however, was less than perfect. They tried to push back my cuticles way too far, creating a wound. I spent my vacation in pain every time something touched my toe. After two weeks of healing, it still does not look good. I have written exactly 2 negative reviews in my life. This is the 2nd. I wish I could give this as good of a rating as others but after one horrible experience I cannot justify it. I don't want to hold the whole shop responsible, which is why I gave it a 2 instead of a 1. This was entirely the work of one individual. There is a particular nail tech in this salon who really needs to hang up his cuticle trimmers. I do not know his name but he is an older gentleman. This man butchered my feet! He hurried through the entire process, cut me twice (I bled!) and forgot to finish what he was doing half the time from foot to foot. He applied the sloppiest paint job I have seen, then proceeded to mess it up when trying to put on my sandals. (He did redo it.) He was very forceful when moving my feet in or out of the water and it hurt at times (he holds your foot like a vice.) I could not understand him in the slightest so I didn't know what he wanted me to do half the time which only proceeded to make it worse and more forceful. I read the price for the service I requested and then he charged me something different. When I asked him about it he played dumb. I was so upset and desperately wanted to get out of there, I didn't put up much of a fight. I was probably the worst experience I have had at a nail salon to date. I honestly wanted to get out of the chair and walk out the second time he cut me and now I am sorry that I didn't. 4 days later my foot is infected and tender from the cuts. Even the other nail tech (owner?) looked over and gave me a look of surprise and sympathy whenI cried out. This was about the least relaxing salon visit I have experienced. I could tell the other techs in the salon knew their stuff and were much friendlier and professional with their clientele. The ambience and decor were nice! I have been a customer at Mia's almost since the opening. I liked the cleanliness of the salon, and developed friendly relationships with the staff and owners. I regularly referred friends and colleagues to Mia's, and took my own daughters there as well. I was a very loyal repeat customer, who always tipped generously. However, a recent experience was less than stellar, and Mia's has lost my business. Another reviewer commented that service at Mia's is slipping. That was definitely my experience. Recently, I took my daughter to Mia's for a "Mommy-Daughter" mani pedi day. When we arrived, I mentioned to the owner that it looked busy, but she assured me that all was well, and told me to sign in. After waiting for 45 minutes, with part of the time seated at nail stations with no service, an older woman who had arrived after us began to throw a loud hissy fit over her "long wait," which at that point, was 15 minutes for her. The owner then directed the noisy customer to sit at the nail station next to me, where I had been waiting for about 25 minutes with no service...but with repeated assurances that the nail technician would "be with me soon.". The owner then began a manicure for the disruptive customer; the customer turned to me while she was getting her nails filed and said coolly, "Oh, are you waiting too?" At that point, I arose from my chair, quietly told my daughter to pull her feet, wrinkled from having been in the pedicure bath for nearly a half hour with no service, from the water, and put on her shoes. We walked out of Mia's and will never be back. I will not frequent a business that rewards rude, entitled customers who throw a loud fit with instantaneous service, while simultaneously penalizing other customers who have been sitting quietly, waiting their turn. read more

She also started to speak in her language about me but I still understood that she was talking about me and not in a friendly way.. I'll never return.. Worst service ever at Mia Nail Salon. Went for a mani and pedi and tech decided to only mani right hand. Tech was in hurry and decided left hand looked "clean" and no need for mani. I would say my experience here was mediocre at best. My acrylics were OK and my pedicure was OK. My big toe was smudged by the dryer under the nail station and the guy doing my nails just put a drop of polish on to try and fix it...it looked pretty awful but whatever. I didn't mind that much cuz it's my toes. When he finished my set of acrylics I legit had acrylic all over my hands and fingers...it was also jammed up under my nails and I couldn't get it out. Just really sloppy. I faked off the acrylic that I could. When we finished he walked me over to the dryer and walked out the door and never came back. My purse and shoes were still sitting over by the nail station unattended so that made me kinda uncomfortable. I'm not even done with my pedicure and I need to give Mia's a poor rating. They were very busy but they did a poor job keeping track of customers and who's turn it was to get services. I had waited a 1/2 hour and was seated at the same time as another walk in who had just come on. The manicurist came over and started to wait on that person I had to look at the man an say, "excuse me, I was next". After that he seemed rushed to do my pedicure and not very friendly. I would have paid for a deluxe pedicure but he didn't even ask me. While I was waiting I heard another customer complain about being skipped over for services. I'm brand new to Zionsville so I will definitely try other salons before coming to Mia's again. I'm very disappointed because so many of the other YELP reviews were so positive.
