I used them (Mason) a couple of times several years ago. For the last time I used them, I had a confirmed appointment and Mason never showed up. I kept calling and coud not reach anyone. When I did reach him late in the evening, he told me he had been busy and his attitude was "so what." Horrendous lack of professionalism. And this was after I gave him a second chance after he changed his quote to install a new electrical panel. I had asked him if it included all costs and was told yes. The wiring in our house is very old and confusing and they were unable to find it, but rather than charge me the full price per hour, they not only came back the next day to try again, but lowered the rate to the standard service call rate since they were unable to find the problem. They gave me options for ways we could open the wall to continue looking where the problem is likely buried in the wall or a way to reroute the electricity from another location. First of all, I very rarely leave reviews on Yelp; even when I am satisfied with the work. Volta definitely deserves a review from me for their professionalism, work ethic and prompt responsiveness. Having said that, I found Volta while looking for an electric company/electrician to install a Tesla wall connector in our garage. I looked around quite a bit and got a lot of quotes including one from Volta but the main reason I went them is their prompt responsiveness. From the moment I emailed them about a quote to scheduling a walkthrough of our place, Kara was very helpful and very responsive to emails. Jason (electrician) came to our place to check our breaker and find the best possible solution for running the wires (Our breaker is in the basement and the wires needed to be run from basement to the garage). Once Jason finished the walkthrough and told me that he would be able to run the wires without any holes in my basement ceiling, I was very ecstatic. (We have a finished basement and my wife would not have been happy with the holes in the ceiling). Having agreed to their proposal, Volta wasted no time in getting the permit and scheduling me for the installation. On the day of the installation, Jason and Charles arrived on time and finished the job very professionally and they even vacuumed all the debris from the installation work; which definitely tells me a lot about the company. Finally, after the installation, Kara wasted no time in scheduling an inspection with the county and also provided me updates about their arrival time. All I had to do was be present and the inspection went without a hitch. This company definitely knows how to run a business and I definitely recommend them for any and all electrical needs. UPDATE (5/16) - We finally picked up our Tesla on 5/14. Brought it home and plugged in the charger and for some reason, the amperage never went above 12A (11mi/hr charge). This was very surprising because Jason had installed a 60A switch, which means the car; which is able to pull in a max of 48A should charge at 48A (43mi/hr charge). I tried everything - unplugging the charger and plugging it back in, even took the car back to delivery center to use their charge and it showed me a speed of 48A. So, I took the necessary screenshots showing the charge speed and amperage and sent an email to Volta at about 9pm on 5/15. Amazingly, Mason replied within minutes!!! He told me that this is just a tiny issue with a small connector pin in the charger and that he can swing by in the morning and fix it. I was really happy with the prompt reply and the quick scheduling for the fix. As promised, Mason came around 7:45am. I was at work but my father was home and within 5 minutes of Mason's arrival, my after called me saying the Tesla was charging at the proper amperage. I was able to see this on the app as well. I have stated this before and will say it again - this company definitely knows how to run a business, but more importantly how to look after its customers. I found Volta on Tesla's website and received e-mail response shortly after inquiring about service. I work odd hours and my preferred means of communication are e-mail/text. Volta's communication and replies were fast and efficient. Mason came to my new home in Richmond, VA and upgraded my service to 400A. He removed an old 200A panel that had hazardous wiring and installed two new 200A panels, a new 400A meter, and a new Tesla Wall Connector which uses a 100A circuit. Mason handled everything from permitting to coordinating appointments with Dominion (local power company) and county electrical inspectors. I couldn't be happier with the service and experience. Mason was very professional and friendly. Mason made this installation as smooth and convenient as possible for me. I will definitely be contacting Volta again to install additional Tesla Wall Connectors, Tesla Powerwalls, and for any other electrical work I need in the future. They are paid by the hour with a one hour minimum, so when Bobby quickly fixed my initial issue, he stayed (at my request) and checked all my outlets and replaced a broken one and took time to explain how the house was wired, so I could get my whole hours' worth. We recently hired Volta to add several outlets in our new office space. We were very happy with the service we were provided. First, their quote came in much lower than the other 2 companies we received bids from (by almost half). The owner, Mason, showed up with the team the first day to view the space and we ended up talking through some other recommendations. He said there were a couple of items that would be out-of-scope from the additional quote, but made sure I was comfortable with the additions before they proceeded. They worked quickly and were neat as they went. The only thing I noticed was that on one outlet, there were some cuts in the drywall about 2" long that looked like they didn't mean to make- but installed the outlet and plate over it, with the cut still there. I was fortunate enough to have painters coming the same week so it was not a problem for me to fix it. However, if we had not, that would have been one item of concern.
