I originally tried using the Lowe's install option, but Lowe's outsources installs to the Angi app which was awful to deal with - miscommunication all over the place and dealing with their customer service was a headache. I finally reached out to Old Town to try a local installer. I'm so glad I did. Old Town were great communicators throughout the entire process, showed up on time, were professional, and the project cost was significantly less than what Angi was asking. The last project included adding a outside hookup and line that attaches to our portable Generac generator outside to our breaker box inside, also replacing most of our old and dangerous inside electrical outlets, and checking and repairing a couple of fan switches. They also placed a surge protector into the breaker box for lightning strikes. He explained his recommendations and what would be cheapest for the client in terms of materials. At the end of the day, he installed the EV charger and it functions as it should. Why I wouldn't recommend: (1) Ahmad consistently communicated unrealistic expectations. At 11:30am (after arriving an hour late) Ahmad told me my project is a 3 hour job. At 4pm when I shared concern with the lack of progress, he said it would be done at 7. He left at 10pm. Ahmad set up expectations that he could not deliver on. (2) Several reviewers have said that Ahmad tidied up and was very clean but that was not my experience at all. I have several piles of broken up drywall, a large hole in the wall to fix, and other screws/wires to clean. Pictures attached. Overall Ahmad is a great guy, I have nothing personal against him, but I would not recommend him to a friend or an internet stranger.
