As mobile phone shops go, this is a pretty decent one. It looks recently re-fitted - it's slick and modern, quite spacious, and nicely designed into sections, rather than just two big racks of phones against the walls like you get many other places. When you are with an adviser, you are taken to one of the private tables, which are sort of tucked away from the main floor, which is good given that you are giving out sensitive information like your bank account details and such.
The employees are lovely too. You are greeted at the door, and are then allocated to a person who will help you. All the staff I spoke to were helpful, knew their stuff, and were normal - like they are allowed to have a personality, and not just be mad sales pursuers.
Having had an immensely frustrating experience with EE, and being free to look for a new contract, I went into all of the phone shops on Buchanan Street, and did a comparison of which one I felt would offer me not just the best deal, but also the best service. Having weighed up all the options, I eventually went with Vodafone.
This was partly due to the employee I was dealing with, Kirsty, being very very helpful and nice. She quickly understood everything I was looking for, didn't try to do any annoying up-selling, and was great to deal with. Part of the way through, there was some sort of system issue and I was on my lunch break, so was running out of time to faff about with it anymore. She said she would sort it out for me and I could come back after work and get the phone and she would have sorted everything out for me, which I thought was great customer service. She even put the wee scratch resistant screen cover on for me.
A top tip is that they offer discount for employees in certain companies. I know some places do this for employers like the NHS or the Police, but I'd never have thought it applied to my company, which is a big financial company, but it did! So it's worth checking this out. read more
