Ok, so my experience of EE during a recent upgrade has been poor. MEGA POOR. But there's a guy in…read morethis shop who is excellent. In fact, generally the staff in this shop are pretty good and know what they're doing. The same cannot be said for all EE shops, particularly the one up in Buchanan Galleries which is chaotic to say the least and has burning halogen lights that you could make toast under. Not a pleasant shop to endure. Long story short, I got an upgrade from a company who I thought were EE, they weren't, I cancelled it the next day, and then two months later, I was still waiting for it all to be sorted out, all the while being on a new unsuitable price plan, and with no new handet. The EE call centre, who are utterly hopeless, repeatedly failed me through security, so I had to come in to the shop. I'd had a total melt down on the phone to EE on the Sunday, so it took me a few days to steel myself to go through it all again in the shop. The assistant manager, Scott, immediately made the decision that he wasn't going to pass me to anyone else, but that he would sort it out for me. We were in the shop for almost 1 1/2 hours, while he spoke to various depts in the EE call centre, and the external company who I'd take the phone from - Get Connected/Upgrademymobile - don't go near them. The man has the patience of a saint. I would have been spitting chips but he remained calm and collected, and just battered on through it. He really was excellent. Another long story short - today I've been informed by Get Connected that the new contract has been cancelled, although I don't quite believe it yet. I'll go into the shop to check. Scott had jokingly said to me while we were enduring the mammoth rigmarole with the call centre 'hey you'd better get your upgrade from this shop after all this!'. I'm hesitating about this at the moment as, despite being an EE customer for 18 years, yes 18 years, I have been so disappointed in the service from the call centre that I just don't know if I can bear dealing with them again. The competence and attention from the employees in this shop is the only thing that will convince me to stay as an EE customer. So I'll go back in and see how that works out.

From all the phones I have had, Orange make being with them a joy, they definitely got it right with Organge wednesdays. This store was where I went when I lost my Blackberry. Sadened as I was the shop people gave me a few options of what I could do next: either barr all outgoing calls and still keep looking for it, order a new sim card and use an old phone if I had one, or pay £70 for a replacement phone and be enlisted on their insurance service. Well I waited and waited and looked and looked then ordered a new phone, then found my old phone. AHH. So I went back in with the replacement phone that I hadn't even opened yet, and they were very understanding and spent a while on the phone confirming the reactivation of my old phone for me. I couldn't ask for better service and I never even had to spend a penny.

Whenever I visit a new city or country, I always like to check out the Apple Store, as there always…read moreseems to be something going on, not just in the store, but the surrounding area and that's certainly the case here, as this location on Buchanan Street is in a terrific old building, in the heart of the city's shopping district, on Buchanan Street. The selection of the latest Apple devices from iPhone to iPad, from MacBook Pro to AirPods is extensive as one would expect, and the store's exposed brick wall adds a rustic charm and a juxtaposition between the modern technology and old building which houses Apple Glasgow. There are fewer open spaces to sit and relax compared to other Apple Stores - there are still some areas where you can sit, play around with the latest devices and charge your phone though, even if it isn't the most spacious and comfortable. The staff seemed friendly enough, but again not overly welcoming and engaging. The store does generally close at 7 pm, which is a little early for my liking but is amongst the latest in the city centre anyway so I can't complain too much there. 4*

Extremely unprofessional manager (short blonde hair) in the store today. No interpersonal skills,…read moreterrible communication skills, very immature and childish behaviour with a horrific attitude that clearly shouldn't be working in a customer based service environment! His unprofessionalism is a bad reflection on the Apple brand and clearly brings the Apple brand into disrepute. Apple need to pay more attention to their management selection process and the customer service/management training that they are giving these people. In this case, Apple have got it majorly wrong promoting this person as they're not management material in anyway!

GAMER'S FIX So today…read moreis Him Indoors' birthday...he decided last night he wanted to have "a two-console household"...ooookaaaaay darling!! ;-) He's already got a PS4 and today I got him a Wii U in this Game store. The location is very handy, close to loads of transport and central!! As soon as we asked for assistance, a very friendly girl came over and helped us out. She immediately told us about a bundle deal, where basically you get the console (for the normal price it is everywhere...) and a wee accessories pack free...and there are cheaper games (premium and new titles) should you chose to buy them at that point. The accessory pack had a wee stylus (the Wii U game controller is a huge thing with a touch screen and buttons etc, so this is a great wee bonus for NO MONEY!!) a screen protector for the controller screen and a pouch to keep the controller safe when not in use...FABULOUS wee extra!! The staff member then showed us where the pre-owned games were, there was a good selection! Him Indoors had a rewards card, so she happily put the points on there for us and explained that the points don't register for 24 hours, again, helpful!! He spied another game he liked the look of so asked her to put it aside whilst we went to look for other bday pressie stuff elsewhere (we ended up not going elsewhere, but she had already set it aside for him, so it was available ready to go at the till.) I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for games/consoles/iPads etc...they have a great selection (of new and pre owned games and consoles!) and they take pre orders too for the next Big Thing!!

Probably my favourite Gamestation…read more It's on a good location on Union Street near Fopp (a cheeky combo of CD's and video games, please?) and Glasgow Central. They have a huge range of video games on all the big consoles including X-Box, Wii and PS3 with different members of staff stating clear preferences for which one is their favourite. It's important to know this when you make big purchases because they will steer you away/towards particular products. They do good trade-ins and bundles and are always bang up to date with the latest releases. It's pretty big inside with plenty of room to move around and they always have playable demos of new releases which is always fun!

Came two hours later, he said that the non-original screen will not work, the original will cost 65 pounds and need to come tomorrow. Good. Came at evening of the next day and he tells me that he cannot fix and I need to go to the Apple store. At the same time he inserted the broken screen back, but completely destroyed so that nothing could be seen from the screen. I'm going to the Apple store, where they tell me that the previous person who opened the phone broke the fingerprint recognition button. I go back to G-mobile and say that I was told. Sherhan was gone, he was upstairs and I had to wait for him for half an hour before he came down. I explained the situation to him and he started to react aggressively. Took my phone, even the model which he identified is not correct (it was an iPhone 7, but he said it was an iPhone 8), pulled out recognition device and began to poke it in my face, simultaneously shouting that nothing is broken. But he worked before him. He also said that because they are not official seller even if he completely broke the phone, he will not be responsible for anything. Any other information to me refused to provide. Also, he did not provide me with a receipt for purchases, I still bought a mouse before. There was no evidence that he was the one who broke my phone. So I could not dispute his actions. The broken button cost me 148 pounds. What we have in the end: 1. Terrible service. 2. Not the professionalism of the employee. 3. Poor quality of work. 4. No guarantee. Such people create a negative image of all migrants.
