For anyone interested in renting a karaoke machine for whatever reason, look no further…read more Last year, my husband and I got married at Kualoa Ranch. My husband's family is Korean, so rather than have a dance floor we decided on having a karaoke machine. We are not from the island so we struggled to find someone reliable to rent from and took a risk by going with Hans Vending despite finding no reviews for them online at the time. We used their online system to set up the rental, signed the contract, and hoped for the best. The day of, someone from Hans Vending came and set up the equipment and walked my friend through how to make sure everything was working/troubleshoot any possible technical difficulties--we rented the commercial grade premium rental system, a large disco/karaoke light, Korean songs, and delivery and installation. It was a blast! Everything went smoothly, there were plenty of song choices, and the microphones, sound system, and light all worked very well. We had so much fun singing and dancing the night away. Hans Vending's services truly made our wedding so special and fun, and people from both sides of the aisle still talk about how much they enjoyed themselves and how fun it was to have karaoke. Even at the end of the night as things were wrapping up, the person from Hans Vending who was supposed to break things down let us get an extra few songs in! I could not be happier with this rental company--definitely money well-spent (and quite affordable in my opinion) and I HIGHLY recommend Hans Vending to anyone on Oahu wanting to rent a karaoke machine. The only thing I wish they would change is offering a larger monitor for rent that wouldn't have to be drilled into the wall. We bought a large-ish, cheap TV monitor which we gifted to a friend on the island after the wedding but it would be a great option for them to include in their rental package in the future. Still, I have no complaints at all for this company and hope more people rent their equipment for weddings and other special events!

The men who completed the installation were very polite and knowledgeable, and taught us how to make our selections easily. We were able to use our own TV and added a medium-sized disco light which was timed to whatever song was playing; it added much to the festive atmosphere. I would recommend anyone who wants to have their own karaoke experience in their home to choose Hans Vending.

I did a search on Instagram and came across this business Ohana Karaoke Cafe & Grill, for Korean foods. This is all for my other half since he is a meat Jun Snob, he loves his meat jun so I decided to check out this business for our 2nd lunch. Nice idea, Karaoke and Korean foods, great combination! There are tables for dining and about 3 Karaoke rooms ( small, medium, & large) Connie (owner) greeted us and took our order. She was super friendly, usually at the restaurants here on Koreamouku, I have to be extra nice so they can be more friendlier. *note, no complimentary water here at all, you can bring your own or purchase the water here. Our orders were the meat jun and fish jun combo ($19.) and it has been a long time since I last had my Korean noods, got the ramen noodles with dumplings ( $10.) Big portions, everything was enough for 2 even came home with leftover jun. So the verdict and I ask the other half, so Mr. Meat Jun Snob what is the ratings, he said "7/10 and the fish jun makes up for it". hehe. Even though I can fancy up my Korean ramen better with the fixings, the noods was a great fix, There were 5 ban chan, zuchini and broccoli was too salty but enjoyed kim chee and sprouts. It was nice enjoying Korean foods on Maui! The other half thanked me and I am glad he was happy with his meat jun fixed. If we are back on Maui for longer than 3 hours, we would def. be back again! The prices for portion size and quality is reasonable! Support this wonderful local business!

My wife and I live in the SF Bay Area and wanted a destination wedding in Oahu. We travel to Oahu…read moreonce or twice a year anyway and thought it would be a nice way to double up as a vacay for family and close friends. Initially we expected 40 - 45 people, so it wouldn't be that big of a deal, right? Well..... 10 more people got added.... And then another 10 were added... And then 20 more... And all of a sudden our initial headcount doubled. Yikes, it evolved into a big deal. We had to manage, coordinate, and pay for vendors based on phone/email and a 5 hour flight away. This would prove to be a daunting task... Mike Bell and his team came highly rated on The Knot so we gave him a call. He's super chill, professional, and competitive with his pricing. Once we expressed interest in his DJ services, he forwarded us a questionnaire. It asked about the types of music that we like and the types of music that we don't like (aka music that will be banned). It asked which specific songs would be played during which specific portion of the reception (entrance music, father daughter dance, garter toss, bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc). It was very specific as to which version of the song (original, cover, acoustic, etc), which artist, and which year. We thought to ourselves that a person that puts this much thought and attention into his questionnaires would put even more into the actual event itself. DJ services: Done. Many of our family has kids, so we wanted to add a little fun to the reception. We were hoping for a photobooth. We reached out to all of our potential vendors for leads and contacts. Mike Bell stated that he had a guy and if we opted to upgrade our DJ package, he would throw in the photobooth for free. Photobooth: Done. Next, our event coordinator asked us who was doing our "uplighting". We explained that we thought that lights were included in the package. She said that basic room lighting is included with the reception, but suggested we hire a vendor to do our "uplighting".... Grrrrrreat, let's add something new to our ever growing list. Again, we reached out to our potential vendors for leads and contacts. And again, Mike Bell came through in the clutch. He stated that for a nominal fee, he'll handle all of the lighting. Uplighting (whatever that is): Done. Lastly, our pastor was unable to make it to Hawaii because he already had an event scheduled for that weekend. We reached out to our event coordinator and all of our vendors for leads and contacts..... And lo and behold... Mike Bell himself is a wedding officiant. And he's not just qualified...... he's kind of overqualified. He circulated another detailed questionnaire about our relationship to help provide more insight and to make the ceremony personal. We checked out samples of his work on YouTube and were brought to tears. His words were extremely inspirational. Wedding Officiant: Done. Our daunting task of hiring vendors was cut in half because of the services of Mike Bell and his team. Fast forward to the wedding day.... Mike spoke such powerful words at our ceremony. It spoke to both of us and brought about tears of joy. He used a lot of material from the questionnaires to personalize his anecdotes. I felt like I knew him since kindergarten. And so did some of my family, LOL. Feel free to peep the video here. https://vimeo.com/252007158 Mike killed it (in a good way) at the reception. He played all of the music from our extensive playlists and made some good executive decisions on his own. When he noticed that people weren't dancing to specific types of songs, he'd fade it and return to ones that brought people back out. He noticed that the Electric Slide brought a lot of people to the dance floor, so once things started slowing down on the dance floor, he switched back to the Electric Slide, followed by the Cupid Shuffle, followed by Cha Cha Shuffle 1 and 2. The dance floor was packed. And it was 25 minutes of non-stop cardio and sweat flying all over the place. The lighting was beautiful. Feel free to peep the photos here. http://www.mesascottohana.wedding/photos/1542334 The photobooth was so fun. I kept looking over at the bar and thinking to myself that our bar tab was going to be super expensive because the line was long .... all night. And then I realized that it was the line to the photobooth, which was adjacent to the bar. Phew, that was a close one. Mike and his crew provided a ton of fun accessories and props. The technology was top notch and self supported. You simply click on the button on the screen, pose, and wait for it to print. There was staff on hand to add paper and answer questions, but it was super easy to use. My nephews and nieces had a blast. Kortni and I highly recommend Mike for all of your wedding needs: DJ, lighting, photobooth, officiating Mike Bell and his staff are top notch. Blessings, Vince & Kortni

In short--Mike Bell was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT and took our money without rendering any services…read more Called us "disgusting" for wanting our money back even though he was the one who cancelled on us 2 months before our wedding. Several of our vendors said they did not like him and that we were better off without him. Before COVID hit, I chose Mike because of his ratings, his charisma, and his willingness to decrease his price to match another DJ. When one of my vendors asked which DJ we went with we told her Mike Bell and she didn't say anything, but she had this look that made me think, "I wonder what happened for her to have that reaction." Our wedding was supposed to be in April 2020, but with the CDC gathering restrictions of 50, we decided to postpone. Mike said he would be able to do our wedding which we decided to move to September 2020. Of course things were still not good then, so we decided to wait a whole year in hopes things would be better in HI by September 2021. Come July 2021 we get an email from our coordinators saying that Mike may not attend the wedding due to him moving back to the mainland and not wanting to take any of the 3 steps to travel to HI. I emailed him if he would be able to attend and he replied it would be a good idea to get a backup DJ in case the restrictions wouldn't be lifted by September 2021. So 2 months before my wedding I frantically looked for a new DJ, this time going with a recommendation from our coordinators. Go with Crichton with The Perfect Wedding DJs. He literally saved us and is the kindest person who has a heart and cares for couples! I emailed Mike asking for a refund since he was cancelling on us in which he stated we would not get a refund. I couldn't believe that he wouldn't even offer a partial refund...HE WAS THE ONE CANCELLING ON US! I then wrote back stating we would take legal action in which he replied that our actions were "disgusting." Really? You're the one taking ALL of the money without rendering any services (again--he cancelled on us!) and then calling us "disgusting." Really goes to show the character of this guy. He then attempted to defend himself by saying it was for his safety (if it was, you would take any of the 3 steps to make it to our wedding)...but obviously it was about his greed. He wrote the date was a "courtesy date transfer" and nowhere in the contract did it say he needed to attend our wedding in September. Out of all of our vendors, he was the only one who used this excuse. Even if we didn't sign a contract with the other vendors of the new date, they still went by their word when they agreed to be at our wedding. This got me thinking that he probably had already planned to screw couples over which is why he didn't have us sign any contracts. If he really was planning on attending the wedding--and the contract is so important for him--then he would've made us sign a new one. He also attempted to make us feel like we missed an opportunity by writing that he would've (yeah right) recommended to us another DJ, but decided against it because he didn't want us suing these DJs. 1) You still have our money for services you didn't render, 2) Why would we trust your judgment after you stole our money? 3) So you were going to tell us last second of a trusted DJ when you had told us to look for a backup DJ? Bunch of BS. Do not go with Mike Bell. Completely unethical guy and not looking out for couples at all, only looking out for money.

Anyways we set up a meeting, talked about what he can bring the to table to our event with the 'kamaaina' price. He explained what he can do, who he worked with etc - more on the bragging side, which we understood because you're a businessman selling to a potential customer. We asked him if he could emcee our party and host our games and he said he's able to do that (like his wife mentioned on Facebook) I also asked how I would like lights around the party, and he said he could fulfill that and also asked if he could play mermaid theme songs from little mermaid, he then mentioned he can play ANY kids songs because of the many kids parties he got hired to do. That right there was perrrrfect for me, because hey it is a kids party! His pricing was very reasonable too. We talked a bit more, and then came the set up. He gave me his opinion on how he would love to be on the middle of the stage making sure everyone's eyes is on him. Keeping the party alive and how no one will really pay attention to our decorations.....I, on the other hand didn't agree with that but respected his opinion. Day of party: Kalani showed up hours before the even to to take a look at the stage and noticed all our decoration was on it, and is Dj and emcee area will be right next to it. His face looked VERY displeased. But hey it's my event, and I'm paying you. Anyways, an hour before the even starts, I believe I ran 10 minutes late from what I told him I will be there. He is waiting for me to open the doors for him. GREAT! He is on time! But gave me the impression that he wasn't happy? Maybe I'm wrong, idk but that's I felt. I gave him the agenda (which he agreed to follow) and the run down on the games (which he ALSO agreed to do and happily host) and the reaction I got was confused. Time went on, party started and music played prolly 20 min later. And he did not bring the lights that He said he could bring for the party. He played ok songs, but some songs that I did NOT say I wanted but was still alright. 7:00-7:15PM was to be the start of our prayer/dinner. And he went beyond that! I was so caught up in the party I didn't realized until our magician asked us when it was his time to go on! Kalani finally announced what is going on and etc. later on through the ending of the night, we planned to host games. My cousin, asked him to start, but gave her the impression that he absolutely did not want to do it. I was annoyed just because in the meeting Kalani was so happily to do things, but wasn't really being an emcee that he agreed on. At this point I was over it, I basically gave him the money on his way to the restroom and said thanks for his service. My fiancé cousin actually ended up being the host for games! Thank god! At the end of the night, after the fact that we DONE cleaning, he kept playing music. We ended up waiting for his to close up so we could leave. I wish things were different. Maybe I could've communicated w him more through the party? I don't know, but I already had my relatives doing it because he wasn't following the agenda I gave him (and again he agreed on) I'm pretty sad that he didn't live up to the expectations he gave me in our meeting and his promises. Personally I wouldn't hire him again. From what I see all over the internet, he seems great servicing car show events all in that area.. Anyways, 3 stars tops for REASONABLE price. great FIRST IMPRESSION And good communication with me and the magician.
