As a singer-songwriter, she pays homeage to the female jazz greats of the past while bringing her own unique sounds to the stage. Her new album "Only a Dream" contains many of the songs she played last night. I highly recommended getting a copy. If you're into jazz, you will not be disappointed!

It is a true dive bar, although, unlike some in the city, it now accepts cards and cash. To be honest, I miss the way it used to be in the original location. The bartenders name slips my mind, but I remember her serving at the second location, so she is a long time fixture. I am fairly certain the three older musicians playing that day are fixtures too, although I have never seen them before. As you enter, you will find the walls covered by ones that locals and tourists sign and affix there. Menu is limited and the drinks are much cheaper than Lower Broad, although more expensive than some of the other dive bars around the city (Santa's comes to mind). If you are around Music Row and searching out a dive bar, this is definitely your place.

When I walked in I, immediately, thought of Haven (RIP https://www.yelp.com/biz/haven-miami-beach-2). From the LED wall to the music to the drinks to the vibe... I didn't feel like I was in Nashville anymore. the back corner stands out and gives Middle Tennesseans something that's not readily available in this area. If you're in the mood for a little coastal cosmopolitanness (is that word? It's not a word), the back corner is about to be your new favorite place. The neighborhood gets things moving in the right direction. For as much as Germantown has (scenic streets, fancy high rises, coffee, good eats) it didn't have a nightlife destination. Putting one here makes a lot of sense. Building off the 5th & Taylor imprint, the back corner starts off fancy (but not pretentious) and builds to memorable. Upon entry, the first thing you notice is the LED wall and stage. With a changing display of electronic intoxication, you're drawn into a world far away from Lower Broad. If you can break your gaze away from the stage, you'll notice the upper and lower lounge seating. Intimate, cozy and a bit mysterious, the seating at the back corner lets you decide whether you want to be front & center or if you're rather sit back and take it all in. You can be as public or private as you'd like. If indoor seating isn't your thing, make your way outside to enjoy the fire pit and Germantown night sky. Just do us all a favor and refrain from smoking. Seeing cigarette butts along the patio or by (in??) the fire pit is not sexy and very off-brand. All the above said and noted, the back corner is not a huge space -- which is a plus and minus. It's a plus because it never becomes the cavernous mess of bass and desperation. The minus is crowds gonna crowd and with a lot of people, the space will be tight. I don't know how to fix that. I suppose a velvet rope and waitlist will keep crowds at bay but neither feels very Nashville. Hmm... Another minus (relating to the size) is that there's only one bar. One bar in a space this cool is a bit tight. I know the space behind the bar isn't huge but I would staff it with 3 bartenders at a time so as to keep up with the crowd. Because you're going to want to drink. A lot. The cocktail program at the back corner is a bit unusual for Nashville -- and very Miami. Expect rum, colors and a boozy punch. Actually, the menu could use a punch. Get on that, tbc. Re drink progression... start with the gimlet. It's pretty to look at and refreshing to drink. All the mixers, juices, etc. are made in house so you're getting quality fare. From there, hit the No. 4 and, then, the No. 2. If you're still upright, drink some water. Water? Who am I kidding? Cocktails! You're in Miami, [redacted]! Well, sorta. If you need some noshes, 5th & Taylor is serving up bites. Don't come here for dinner. Who eats food? Let the music and booze nourish your body. As perfect as the back corner is for DJ sets, live music (this *is* Nashville, after all) works as well. the back corner isn't the Downtown dance club people have wanted for a (looooong) while. But it is a welcome addition to the city's nightlife scene and, very possibly, you're new favorite place to go. Bienvenidos a Nashville.

We had the best time with all the other Steelers fans. The Terrible Towels were flying, Black and Yellow was playing and there were plenty of people wearing their Steelers attire. For food, I enjoyed their chicken fajita quesadilla. It was filled with chicken, red peppers and onions. I also appreciated that they served non-alcoholic beers, and ended up ordering the NA Corona.

I love that I can meet up here with a large group and no reservations and there is something for everyone. It's also one of the rare spots I actually crave coming to when it gets a little chilly outside because the outdoor fire pits and flannel blankets make it such a cozy fall vibe! My book club often requests that we meet here when it gets s bit chilly since it's dog friendly and really easy for a small group to have their own space for a hangout. Parking on the street can get a bit busy during oral times, but I'm always able to find a spot within a block walking distance. Service is fast and friendly, and you never have to wait long to order, even if it is more crowded (as it can be in good weather days and weekends.)
