If you are up for a full dinner, the food is second to none. For many years I went to hear the great John Johnthis, and was so excited to hear that Terrific Terri is now holding down the fort. The first time I heard Terri play and sing was at a wonderful restaurant in Green Hills -- since gone the way of all flesh. I told Terri after the show "I'll bet your parents were shocked when you came into the world White and Blonde." (She told me later that was the finest compliment she had ever received.) Of course, I said that, because she covers Dionne Warrick like no one I have ever hear, and get's down on the Blues. It is hard to say whether Terri is a better singer or jazz pianist. She is simply terrific at both. Terri has a great personality and talks to the audience between tunes, which is both enlightening and entertaining. So I am awarding V'Lounge Five Stars and look forward to my next vist.

This FREE concert series at Cumberland Park on the East bank of the Cumerland river (next to LP…read moreField) started this year and runs the third Sunday of each month from August to November (4 concerts total). It goes from 5-7pm and will be returning next year in case you can't make the last date of November 21st. It features famous jazz musicians playing original and classic tunes. They play in the amphitheater in the park, and there are no seats, so bring a blanket or chairs or, if you can make it, you can sit on the wall. I heard about this through the Artober Nashville promotions, and having never been to Cumberland Park I decided to give it a try. I will review that park in a seperate post, but it is absolutely beautiful and I can't wait to go there again. Beautiful views of downtown Nashville at sunset with our wonderful pedestrian bridge...yeah its pretty much the best setting ever for a free jazz concert. And Nashville, for being Music City, we sure do lack good jazz. But apparently you've realized that, and found a solution in this little gem. I thank you for that. This is still a new event so it wasn't crowded, and it was very relaxing. There's a concession stand near the bridge but that's all for food or drink as of now, so I recommend packing a picnic, and bringing extra clothes as its chilly this time of year (not so in the summer months). It's a great way to wind down a Sunday, and like I said you can't beat the views. The musicians were beyond talented, and the music is so soothing. The quartet that played this weekend did a great rendition of "What a Wonderful World" that seemed to resonant with the surroundings themselves. I will be going to the one in November, even if I have to wear winter gear to do so. I will absolutely support this great idea so it keeps happening. Please, remind Music City that we like more than country. This was a great event and I am so happy I got the chance to try it out.

They had a food truck circle at the end of the path and snack vendors along the way. It might be me, but I feel like this event is overshadowed by some of the other outdoor musical events and it shouldn't. It's a perfect way to end your week!

I didn't catch her name, but her warmth really made the visit memorable. I ordered their seasonal cold foam iced espresso that I customized (not on the menu). It was smooth, bold, strong and creamy. My daughter tried the Forget Me Not mocktail, which was herbal, full-bodied, minty, and refreshing. She said it was completely new taste for her palate in the good way. Both drinks were delicious and well crafted. The lounge itself has a relaxed and versatile atmosphere that makes it easy to enjoy in any setting. Some people were working on laptops, others were chatting with friends, and there were even board games like chess and trivia cards for anyone to use. It's a space that balances cozy and social perfectly. It was great to have found a coffee shop that serves good coffee.
