Good concept but service is unreliable, during installation, they blew me off more than once where I took the day off to be at home for installation and they never show. I am now using them but not sure of the junk on my roof is worth it. Think twice before hiring this company. The contract and the rates are in their favor 300%. If you want solar power buy your own panels if you can afford it. But this company has a long way to go as they grow they seems to lack the basics read more

Had sensors installed in April. After several sensor failures & the devices on my entry doors started falling off I decided to cancel service. Which they make as difficult as possible! Can't request through chat / you have to call their 'Loyalty Specialists'. Who will waste your time trying to upsell you. Extremely frustrating. After 20 minutes on the phone I told them to simply cancel my account as I had no more time to negotiate. I did not receive confirmation it wad cancelled so I called today to check. Was informed my account was not canceled & could not be until I answered all their questions. I asked to speak to a supervisor & was told that 'was not necessary'! Yes! It was! After not being listened to, talked over & interrupted I was given a WARNING! Outrageous. Terrible customer service, terrible products, terrible company. read more

I guess I should have read the reviews on here before calling Cranney in Danvers. My AC stopped blowing cold air so I called Cranney to try to fix it. The technician arrived and asked to go on the roof first to check on the condenser. After about 30 minutes he came back and told me that there were several things wrong with it and that the whole system needed to be replaced. I asked if he wanted to look at the air handler in my crawl space but he said that there is no need that the whole thing needed to be replaced and that with a crane rental the total would be about 20k. I asked when I could have someone here to give me a quote and he said they can have someone here within an hour and that they would be calling me. No one ever called. He left and I called JF HVAC for a second opinion. He came over the same day and looked at the condenser on my roof and said it was fine and then looked at the air handler and said that the drain was clogged and the emergency switch had been switched off. He drained an entire shop vac full of water out and switched it back on and it works perfectly now. My guess is that Cranney technicians get commission for convincing homeowners that they need a whole new system even when they don't. Very shady, don't use them!! read more

Awful! The customer service is unbearable. Any time you have a question or an issue the way the staff talks at you is despicable. Now lets talk about the equipment, it was faulty to start. When they came to install, they used the old equipment that was there from a previous service she had. My mom is obviously older and had this alarm company, they would double dip in her accout twice a month for payment. The whole experience was terrible, horrific even. I really wouldn't recommend this company to my worse enemy. I even hate that the system wont allow me to not give any Stars at all as they dont deserve the 1 read more

NOT WORTH YOUR AGGRAVATION THEY WILL BECOME A FULL TIME JOB JUST TRYING TO GET THE BILLING CORRECT ! So I purchased solar panels and a small home system came with it from Vivint. I have had nothing but problems with the whole thing ! I got the door bell camera and the person that came out said he couldn't find the power for it. So it sat on my counter for weeks. They called me and asked how things were and I explained that the camera wasn't installed. They sent someone out to fix it and it now works but at that time I purchased the door lock but they couldn't install it cuz I didn't have a hole in my door for it. So that sat on my counter cuz they told me I needed to hire a lock smith. In the mean time I'm getting bills for 800-900 dollars ... say what !!! It was free !!! Come to find out they were charging monthly monitoring which was also free for three years I've only had it in for like maybe 4-5 months . The lock I purchased went on sale within 30 days of my purchase but they wouldn't give me the sale price so I returned it. I even confirmed with them that they received it. I'm still getting a bill for the lock ! I've been told it was the solar company that set up my account but when I talk with them they say it's on Vivint cuz they can't and don't have access to their accounts but I swear there are not allot of smart people working there cuz I'm constantly calling about there billing !!!!! I have nothing for them to be billing me for at this time. Getting several calls from their collections department. read more

I have been a faithful customer since 2011 or 2012. At this time, I am no longer able to keep the service. I am now on a fixed income with permanent disabilities, and will be moving, as will everyone else in the household....house being sold. Vivint wants me to still pay $45.99 per month for 3-4 more years to "buy out of contract". Don't remember any such agreement being made and the fact remains I can't need the service anymore. I was one of their first customers in my area, and besides, my cameras outdated, nonfunctional, and never updated. Model no longer exists. All I get is "front/back door open"!!!!! Don't want anything, just want out without ruining my credit!!! read more

I've had Vivint for several years now(contract)...and they are the worst....if you have a issue they want to charge you 49.00 to send out a technician....so you want me to pay for the equipment plus pay for the monitoring that isn't working plus pay for you to come out......as soon as my contract is up....I am going to another company...one that dosent seem to penny pinch.....YOU DO NOT GET YOUR MONIES WORTH....do your self a favor...BUY A DOG.....USE A NIGHT LIGHT....HIRE A NEIGHBOR....ANYBODY BUT VIVINT ....THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORST read more

These folks are pushy. Beyond pushy. During the summer months these guys seem to come by once a week! We have said "NO" in every way imaginable. I have called their corporate office and even asked that our address be left off whatever list we are on. No none who has their products has any positive feedback. We certainly don't want to partake in any of their offerings. Winter has brought stop to the harassment. guess it's too cold out for these clowns. read more

Great concept but customer service is awful. It is easier to charter a spaceship to the moon than get a technician to go to your home. I would not recommend them. They mess up appointments and blame you for it. May be cancelling service. read more

yesterday I received a call saying I owed 3000 dollars for a system I kept active for a month or two after being told by my sales person I could cancel at anytime if I did not like it finding out now it's not true and that I am locked not a five year contract for something I am not using. I went on chat with them and spoke to someone named Vance J who said nothing he can do for me and gave me an 800-216-5232 number which I called many times no answer will contact better business bureau . I am 61 and feel I was taken advantage of extremely poor business read more

Still waiting for 3 months for the a service on non-responding system!

Nothing but problems. Cameras keep going offline. Had problem addressed with Verizon blocking Vivint and much better, but much better from horrible is marginal at best. I've had so many techs out and called customer service so many times I've lost count. Main panel keeps freezing. Phone app is horrible. Now it will cost me almost 3 thousand to get out of contract. It's almost worth it. read more

Scam- Be Careful- Read my advice. Vivint sale rep came to my house which located right in the corner and told me that would put the entire system in for free since my house easy to see by other so they can advertise, after he explained all the detailed information and how much I saved compare to other security company, have 10 days to try out, can cancel any time without any charges or penalty, so I give it a chance, took about 1 hour for the guy to install the system. I signed the paper when I was so stupid in a rush, and I figure that they came the right time when I want the security system for my house, next day, I sat down carefully review the paper that I signed, so here's the tricky parts: First, not because my house advertise for them or not but everyone got the same package. So, don't let they fool you. Second, there's no such thing as 10 days trial period it's only 3 days, but the rep never tell you this, he secretly circled the 3 days on the paper without you notice it very small print on the bottom of the contract. Third: Contract: 60 months, yes, that's 5 years, if you cancel before the term end, you going to pay the remaining balance, if you move, bring ur system with you, if you out of your job can't pay your bill you will be on collection... So, after review the contract I call Vivint to cancel it, lucky I did it right the next day otherwise I will stuck with them for 5 years. Another tricky part, once you sign the cancellation notice and fax/mail/email in, it's not cancel yet, you would have to call back in 2 days to confirm the cancel again and schedule the technician to come to pull the system out. If you forgot to call Vivint back after they received your cancellation notice then you'll stuck with them. I ended up with ADT, a better reliable company, you can get pretty much same price, better service. **second day right after contract signed, they electronically charge you 1st month into your bank account . So would have to call them to get it out. Vivint previously APX company which got a lot of negative comments. So do some research. Don't let these guy come into your house. read more

VIVINT SECURITY SYSTEMS ----- our family has tried for 12 months to cancel services with VIVINT . our MOM passed away last november 2013 and our DAD passed away this November 2014, less than a year apart. It is a very difficult time for our family and we have to sell their home. VIVINT refused to cancel services a year ago because my DAD was still in house. We needed services while MOM was alive due to her frailty health. My DAD refused to use this service and it just sat there but they would do nothing to help. My family has contacted this company they give us the runaround saying BIlling department is closed today , call back next day , call back next day they say they were open the day before but not today !!! we have called countless times. we have sent emails that they request --- they will pass it on to a special decision making office and get back to us --- THEY DON"T !!!!! every time you call they transfer you to another department !!! I spoke with a rep from their company say that he read the notes and stated that this is silly that they have dragged this out for 12 months and still going !!! I would never recommend them !!! they suggest that we take their equipment and install it in someone's home. http://www.vivint.com/solutions/packages/home-security is the WEBSITE why make us drag this out ???? any help ??? any suggestions on home to get this cancellation ?? read more

Yesterday i called in after my alarm was trigged by my dog after he jumped on the door. I called it reported it was a false alarm and asked if they could contact my towns police department to see if someone could go close the door. She said she would call them and let them know. I got a call 5ish mins later stating they won't go out because it's not an emergency. I thought it was extremely odd but I needed to get back to work. I called my towns police department after work and they said they never received a call from Vivint or anything regarding my address. So I call Vivint to get information and I get the run around and no one is willing to give me info. I filed a formal complaint and asked for the calls to be reviewed and determine what happened and who screwed up. I get an email the next day and Vivint tells me that the monitoring rep did in fact lie to me and never called my towns police dept. She took it into her own hands to decide I wasn't a priority for her. After more run around for over an hour. I finally get information that she was instructed by a supervisor to lie to me. And all they'll be getting is "coached". Utterly ridiculous, I pay monthly to have people monitor my home and I can't even trust them. No one could even apologize for the hell they put us through. The amount of disrespect is outrageous. read more

Nothing but problems with this company from day one. The motion detectors didn't work. I was guaranteed that animals under 30 pounds would not set it off yet my 8 pound cat set it off daily. So I couldn't use those. The keypad door locks didn't work. I had to have four of them installed over the course of the year and they charged me 50 bucks every time they come out to fix it when it was their issue. The smoke detector didn't work right. It went off many times when I was cooking dinner. The videocameras didn't work right. They stopped recording before the person came in the front door. When I had some of these extra features taken down because they didn't work they still refuse to reduce my monthly bill. Customer service is no better. I am buying a new house and have a year and a half left on my contract and they will not let me out of it even for a fee. I have to pay the remaining year and a half. Ridiculous. Horrible customer service. Terrible company. Steer clear. read more

At first i was skeptical because the representative came by my house around 9pm at night. After asking him for his credentials i let him in my home. I have had this service for two years now and I am very happy. The sales representative was educated and resolved the few concerns that I had. Thank you Vivint. read more

The company's service is generally good. Their sales technique, however, is sleazy. They came to my home unexpected and unannounced, offering to replace my ADT system to a new wireless system at no cost. Sounds good, right? I failed to read the fine print, which was that I was locked into a three-year contract. Now that I've sold my home, I'm still paying for a service that I am not using. Don't be fooled and pressured into signing a contract! read more
