It has been over a year since they installed my HIDs so this review is long overdue. Shaw was extremely professional in coming over to my residence and explaining the entire process. During the installation, he had some difficulties due to my vehicle being a newer model so he had to upgrade some equipment - and he did this at no additional cost than what was initially quoted. Really appreciated his professionalism and sticking to his initial quote rather than adding on additional costs. I will definitely come back to Shaw for future installations. read more

I had my the headlights restored last May, I was quoted 110 via yelp and then once he got here to start the job he bumped it up to 160. My experience seemed more like a sales push from the 50% price adjustment to the hard push for upgrading my headlights to HID. I wouldn't recommend this business. read more

I called him at 11 am and he booked an appointment for 1 pm on the same day. Extremely fast service (he finished within 1 hr). He gave me a rundown on how to keep the car headlights from damaging any further. If you want to get your headlights restored would not recommend anyone else! read more

I'm so glad that my boyfriend and I found Shaw! Shaw stopped by our house to work on my bf's Mercedes headlight as it was out. Luckily, Shaw had enough time to work on my 07 Scion tC that had terrible aftermarket headlights. He examined my car, gave his honest opinions with options of what services he can provide from budget friendly to maximized efficiency. Even while providing these options, he recommended the best solutions regardless of the pricing. He was very respectful when it came to my budget. During the service, he was very thorough and knowledgeable. He told us every detail step to step so we were aware of the process. He replaced both of my fog lights and high beam lights. After that he removed the oxidation off my yellow nasty headlights. He provide the BEST service and jokes (haha). He even went above and beyond fixing my crooked front license plate. I had such a wonderful time seeing him in action and I am very VERY happy with the results. Tested the lights for both cars that night and it was *chefs kiss*. From before where I needed to use my high beams to view the night road (and it was still horribly lit) to my new visible and clear working headlights (not needing the high beam anymore)!!! I have already recommended Shaw to my friends and family and I would recommend whoever reading this to. :-) read more

Other than restoring headlights, if you need any custom work done? Don't. That is all I have to say. Trust me.

I got in touch with Shaw from Vivid. He's a straight shooter and did what he said he would do. My halogens were a real pity. "Let there be light!" Thanks for the no-drama service and straight talk. read more

Shaw went above and beyond for me. The results are great. I wanted a same day job, but he strongly recommended the next day because he needed more time to fix the turn signals and to take off the excess uv protection that was a botched DIY job by me. He also managed to buff out the excess DIY uv protection that got on the bumper. I'll be hitting him up again for future jobs. read more

Can't recommend anyone higher than Shaw at Vivid Headlights. He took my '15 BMW 328 with the weak, yellow halogens and upgraded them to HID low beams and LED fogs. The difference is amazing, cutoff good (no blinding anyone), and he did it the proper safe way. What I mean is that he did not "code out" signals between the computer and the light, but rather added proper resistors on top of the existing wiring. This is great because it safer (coding out mission critical things like headlights is a liability for the owner of the vehicle), and if I ever need to revert back to original, he did not rip out any original wiring (simple to undue, if needed). Shaw is very ethical and trustworthy, not skimping on cheaper components- after original idea was deemed not optimal, he upgraded me to better components and kept my costs the same. Really appreciate the work, and recommend Shaw highly! read more

I have a Dodge Challenger SRT8 and it has Xenon headlights that are so difficult to change the bulbs I can't do it myself. When Vivid came to look at my headlight because it was out after just 2 years being replaced He was able to diagnose the problem and it was going to be a big job taking off the front bumper cover to take the headlight out. I didn't want to do it because I know it is not easy so I got the bulb and ignition wire to do it myself and then discovered I asked for the shorter wire and I was wrong . I had my car torn apart and needed the longer wire so I called and he had me come by to swap out the wire for me, I was borrowing my daughter's Jetta and I didn't have GPS connection and got lost, I was guided while on the phone by him and it was really nice to see they really care about their clients. Got home and plugged in the new wire and it lit right up! I highly recommend this company for all your automotive lighting needs. read more

I was shopping for new headlights for my 2010 BMW 535i. When I found out that each OEM headlight would run me approximately $1,500 ea. I decided to look into headlight restoration. Shaw did an amazing job. I am extremely happy with the results and it cost me a fraction of what I would have spent on new headlights. After seeing the results of the headlights , I asked him yo do my fog lights and side markers too. He tells you exactly what to expect and his pricing is reasonable. Overall, I recommend his services. read more

Shaw is truly one of a kind. He's thorough and honest, and shows great pride in his work. He is priced extremely fair, and goes above and beyond. He showed up on time and was not only able to install my headlights which I had trouble with, he fixed several broken clips left behind by previous installers. I've since asked him to complete other projects on my truck including custom cargo lights and dual led lights on my rooftop tent (red and white lights) with dimmers. I was amazed and impressed by his work - especially since I've worked with several other highly regarded installers. I have a 2019 Tacoma with a ton of aftermarket goodies- I plan on sharing Shane's work on Tacomaworld when it's all done! 5 enthusiastic stars and highly recommended! read more

Great job bringing my lights back to life. A little on the high side when it comes to price but I guess you get what you pay for. My lights look great now. They came to my home, did the Job pretty quick, and did a great job. I'm happy with the result. read more

Most headlight restoration places just buff the lens out... Yes, it may look good but it won't last, I learned this first hand, they were cloudy within a few months. Before moving to CA, I paid the money and had them cleaned, re-glazed and UV protected. It cost's more but we're going in 3 years and they still look great. My girlfriend's car needed the headlights restored but I wanted it done right. I called a few supposed headlight restoration places here in Cali but found the same old "buff the lenses" type work. I continued looking until I came across Vivid Headlight Restoration. His website provided me the info on the restoration process, it's a true restoration, exactly what I wad looking for. I scheduled the appt, he arrived ontime, checked the lenses and went right to work. About an hour later, he was done. Wow! The headlights had that yellowish haze before, now they are clear as if they were brand new. He's passionate and a perfectionist, his work is impeccable. As per his instructions, I have to let it cure, so the car will sit overnight in the garage and won't wash it for at least 24 hrs. Yes, it costs more but it's worth every single penny. Want it done right? Schedule your appt with Vivid. read more

Night and day difference. Had someone try to do this job years ago and destroyed them. It was difficult and dangerous to drive at night with the bad headlights. I messaged Shaw and he was able to come out to my apartment complex the next day. He was able to fix all the micro cracks in the headlights + fog lights and remove the oxidation. Now they look and perform as if it just came from the factory. He is such a nice guy I hung out with him during the service. You will not find another headlight restoration service with this quality of work at this price. Not only does he treat the headlights with a UV protectant coat but guarantees a Warranty on his service for life. Thanks Shaw for an awesome job! read more

Shaw was absolutely amazing and trustworthy in the process to fix my completely destroyed drivers side headlight. And he was super communicative thru the whole process. He came to my house when I received the part and was done wayyyy faster than he stated. We have a MBZ 2005 CLK320 and a MBZ 2006 E350 wagon that had very faded/cloudy and worn headlight lens. Shaw showed up on time and even texted he was on his way. Shaw looked at what had to be done and went to work. He also changed out the halogen headlight bulbs too. All I can say is no better customer service. Shaw is 100% customer friendly. The end product is we have like new headlights on both vehicles. I have been looking for a while for someone that does "real" headlight restoration, and did find it with Vivid Headlight! No more cloudy headlights! Lifetime warranty too, just need to register your receipt. Beat my expectations and thats what we all want! read more

Shaw is a top notch professional. Responded to my initial request quickly and answered all my questions. Flexible on appointment times, etc. Great communication from start to finish. Arrived on time and gave me a heads up call he was on his way. He did an INSANELY amazing job on both my 2014 Toyota Tundra and 2006 Honda Element which have never been garaged. I highly recommend Shaw with Vivid Headlights. I was more than pleased with the work he did on my headlights and fog lights. Shaw is very professional and does really high quality work at a fair price. At first glance, you may think his going rate is a bit steep compared to others in his industry but trust me when I say, don't waste your time or money on anyone else. He does the job CORRECTLY, just as though it's fresh off the factory showroom floor. He doesn't just buff out your lights and call it a day like most other automotive detailers, he actually fixes the root of the problem by sanding the exterior of the lights down to the bare surface and then rebuilds it by applying multiple layers of clear coat. The long-lasting results then speak for themselves. He's the type of guy that only puts his name on the highest quality of work. I says this because I myself work in the automotive industry and can easily spot exceptional work a mile away. Shaw pays close attention to every detail and makes sure that his customers are satisfied with the finished product. Not only that, but he stands behind his work by offering a legit 5-year warranty. You won't find this type of guarantee anywhere else. I contacted Shaw through Yelp and his response time was practically immediate. He had great communication and was very helpful in answering all of my questions and concerns. I will most certainly be referring him to everyone I know in the industry. read more

I was searching for a headlight detailer for awhile. When I asked Shaw for a quote and had a brief chat with him, I know right away that he knew what he's doing. I scheduled him for an appointment the next day, and he came to my house on time. Shaw is friendly and very knowledgeable in what he's doing. I have an aftermarket headlight installed in my BMW, and like most aftermarket lights, it had a very thin clear coat. After about 3years using it, the clear coat started to peel. Shaw educated me on how the clear coat on these headlights works, and started working on my car. Right from the start, I know that he is a perfectionist who paid attention to every single detail. Unlike other detailers, he went above and beyond to sand the headlights and remove the old clear coat, polish it, then applied the new clear coat. After the car's done, he also made sure that he cleaned his work area and cleaned the car. I highly recommend Shaw as he also guarantees his work with a 5-year warranty. I will definitely refer him to my friends who'll be needing a headlight work! read more
