This review is a long-time coming. I contacted Shaw back in August 2025. It looked like a taller vehicle had backed into our car, causing some scratches on the hood of our car and cracking/breaking both protective headlight covers. I was afraid we would have to replace the headlights at the dealership which would've been exponentially expensive. I met up with Shaw and he said he'd be able to replace the headlight covers and save the existing headlights. I gave him a deposit. He ordered the covers. Once they arrived (one week later), he came to our house to remove the headlights to repair the damage at his shop. He returned another week later to reinstall the repaired lights, The lights looked completely brand new, like nothing had ever happened to them. In total, I would say it took a month from our initial meeting until he reinstalled the lights. It was so worth it to go with Vivid Headlights and Shaw! Shaw is a very nice guy and punctual. He arrived on time and gave me options on the light bulb. I went with restoration for my headlights because the top coat came off. And I also changed my bulb to LED. It looks great, the total for restoration was $150, labor cost $100, and lights was $76-$80 I believe, I saved a couple bucks from the original estimate, Shaw chose the best one that fit my car for a better price (correction; I misheard him regarding the bulbs condition for the application, he carries different types of LED). My total was $336.19 instead of $340. He finished in 45 minutes, and gave me good advice on how to clean and keep my car from damaging. He's mobile, so I highly recommended if you're busy and can't take your car out, super convenient. read more

Very unprofessional. Paid $185 with the expressed promised that the shop owner would have the parts to fix my headlights. After degrading the work done by the previous LED custom fabrication contractor, he took my bumper off, told me my lights were not working and that he did not have to parts to fix it. I basically flushed $185 down the toilet while listening to this clown complain about the previous LED contractor's work. Avoid this guy. I met Shaw around a year ago when he was a mobile business. He came to my home and replaced both of my headlights. You might call him a headlight guru. He knows everything there is to know about automotive headlights. He's also a no-nonsense guy, he doesn't just tell you to replace everything but will diagnosis the problem and replace or repair what's necessary unlike other facilities who charge you for unecessary parts and labor. Well, this week I noticed I had a headlight warning light on my dash. I found that one of my headlights was turning on and off intermittently. I called Shaw and explained my situation and he told me to come to his shop in Costa Mesa and he'll replace that headlamp free of charge! This is after 15 months of use. Who does that?! He said let's start with that and if the light goes out again then we'll know it's something else that's causing the issue. That just exemplifies Shaw's integrity and character. Excellent work on my 2017 911S. The best way to fix the "crazing" on my Porsche lenses was replacement. Porsche does not sell new lenses but Shah was able to perfectly install new aftermarket lenses. This is a very precise job as these are not meant to be taken apart. Porsche's solution is buying 2 new headlights at ~$4000 each! Not including install. Shah did the entire job which entailed removing front bumper to get headlights out. I highly recommend his work. He's very meticulous and very careful. read more

He had an opening the same week I called for a quote. 3. Boy did he works HARD on my busted up Mercedes ML350 SUV that is my baby!! I bought that car when I "made it" as a professional and its a 2009 yet looks easily only about 4-5yrs old. the left headlight on my 2019 Lincoln MKZ went out. i took it to the dealer, who informed me it would cost $2900 to fix because the entire headlight assembly had to be replaced along with removing the bumper. i talked to a private general mechanic and was told it would cost $695. i talked to a second general mechanic who said it would be $2300, since the entire headlight assembly had to be replaced. I saw Vivid's ad for being headlight specialists, called and got a bid for $475. Shaw came to my house and said the right headlight was wearing out and offered to replace both for $500. He replaced the headlights in my driveway with admirable efficiency. i talked with him and was impressed with his directness and honesty. Needed my running light wired, did the job well but insisted my headlights weren't bright enough and needed to be "upgraded"I understand he was looking out for me but I was clear that the headlights are fine the way they are don't need to be brighter because they are 100% legal. It's not his concern if my headlights are tinted. Good service but he tried to fork out an extra $150 to "upgrade" my headlights on the spot. Overall the service was good and fast but he tried to sell me on stuff I didn't need which is not acceptable at all. If I want cheap headlights for cosmetic purposes it's not anybodies concern about their functionality compared to what they would prefer.
