I worked with Vonetta, the owner, to achieve my look, and she and her team were a lifesaver. As someone with colored hair, it can be difficult to find a stylist who can achieve the look you want while still prioritizing the health of your hair, but at Signature Image Salon, I never had to worry about that. I received a traditional sew-in with minimal leave-out, and I was also able to purchase the hair directly from the salon. Vonetta made sure the bundles matched my natural hair texture perfectly, and the hair she provides is extremely full and high quality. If you are looking for quality bundles in the DMV area, I highly recommend her. She also did an amazing job coloring the hair to blend seamlessly with my hair color. During my appointment, Vonetta provided me with a regimen for maintaining both my natural hair and the bundles, which showed how much she genuinely cares about her clients' hair health even after they leave the salon. I am extremely pleased with the service and results I received at Signature Image Salon and would highly recommend Vonetta and her team to anyone looking for expert-level work.

It was a basic hair cut and she Charges 125$ which is too much for only a hair cut. My hair was clean, they washed it again. I said I do not want to brush she persisted on brushing. My review is pretty much identical to another person who got her hair silk pressed by the same stylist as me. The curls were non-existent as soon as I stepped out the salon even though she sprayed hair spray per my request. I didn't even really see the results until I saw it in my reflection in a window when I left. It looks like a blow out or how my hair might look if I leave it straight for a whole month. It is ridiculously dull looking. It feels like I have a whole head of fly aways. My grdauation is tomorrow, so this was *perfect* timing. I wouldn't be surprised if it's heat damaged (it wasn't thankfully, though I had to advocate for myself to have her put in heat protectant. She was a bit annoyed since she said she has a lot of exerience, but she did do it). Luckily, I was able to get it touched up by my sister. She commented that it didn't look like she straightened the roots in the back. If you happen to only see the reviews of your stylist while you're sitting in the chair like I did, I recommend making sure that you can see what they are doing - don't let them have you turned away from the mirror for long. And you might want to deep condition before straightening.

When I first walked in I was greeted by the male receptionist who called me Shante, I politely told him the pronunciation of my name and she proceeded to say, "Shante is in the book". So just because Shante is in the book, you are going to continue to call me Shante. Umm NO. I had an appointment at 11 am with Kim, the salon owner Ms. Liz who assured I was going to be in great hands..BUT Kim never showed up. I was waiting until 11:30 after the male receptionist stated "he thought she was parking". After speaking with several stylists the receptionist decided to pass me along to another stylist. Phanatasia (spelling?) who is daughter of salon owner was friendly and excited to take on new clients. She asked me about my regime, hair, preferences and she was receptive to concerns. I have not been to a salon since I went natural about 3 years ago. I was no longer apprehensive but comforted about her knowledge and concern for me. I received a shampoo, deep conditioner, trim and a press and curl totaling about $70 which was amazing for my wallet! I tipped her about $25. Phanatasia will be my go to going forward as I continue my natural hair journey. Thank you Natural Motions!

AVOID THIS PLACE…read more Went in for a haircut late April due to their 20% new client discount and to try them. Showed up for my appointment and the salon was dead empty (1st red flag) with their discount on papers plastered everywhere (2nd red flag). Had to wait 10 minutes as they got my hairstylist who was doing who knows what in her car....(3rd red flag). I asked for a simple "modern mullet" hairstyle similar to what I nornally had with just the sides shaved and top and back trimmed. My hairstylist then proceeds to shave my sides almost all the way to the top, so I resemble "Cillian Murphy" from Peaky Blinders. I get it caters to a female clientale more, but really....? Turns out the 20% discount ended up not even mattering. The total cost was $40, but yet I had to pay $36...(20% of 40 is $32). Still, I chalked it up to just a bad haircut at a shady place and I could move on. Yet, turns out AGAIN, my debit card info was stolen from here, resulting in multiple DoorDash orders totaling over $500. So I beg anyone, avoid going to this place or you definitely will be paying for more than just a terrible haircut.

I purposely scheduled my appointment for 8:30 AM so I could leave no later than 1 PM…read more Unfortunately, I wasn't finished until 4:40 PM.....nearly eight hours later. What should have been a simple takedown, wash, and closure install turned into an all-day ordeal that completely derailed my Saturday. Looking back, I wish I had read the lower-rated reviews before booking. It's clear that closure installs are not this salon's strength, If I was to view the lowest reviews they mention the same issue. During my entire eight-hour visit, I wasn't offered water or food, and by the time the bundles were being sewn in, the work felt rushed and lacking care. The closure was barely customized, just washed and trimmed. There was no color or makeup applied to help it blend naturally. I asked for a small leave-out to cover the lace and weft, yet the result was one of the worst installs I've ever received. When the final reveal came, I could literally see the lace lifting. It felt like a slap in the face after such a long day. They offered 50% off, but it still feels like a waste of time and money, especially since I now have to find another stylist to fix it. This experience left me extremely disappointed and questioning the consistency of their service. I genuinely don't understand how this can be the same salon the Washington Commanders chose to represent their brand. After posting my review on Google, the salon responded with an apology and blamed a scheduling mix-up which is an explanation that doesn't address the quality issues or lack of professionalism. At this point, a full refund would have been more appropriate, as I clearly stated I wouldn't be returning. The money I paid for such poor service could have gone to a salon that values its clients, regardless of internal scheduling errors. Below is their display of service. I am subject to wearing a hat or a scarf until I can find time to take out the install and do it myself.
