Viva Mas has gotten so expensive from the last time I visited! We got two burritos and one fountain drink and our lunch was $50! Overall decent food. I got the steak burrito. It was good. Steak was cooked well, but not overdone. It had great flavor. A little skimpy on the cheese sauce in my opinion. The restaurant is always very clean and the service is good.

A very colorful place. Reminds me of the Rainforest Cafe

Went looking for a mexican place that we went to at the beginning of our trip, but came across this place on Yelp so we decided to check it out. The food was good, service was quick and attentive. They have a daily lunch special that runs until 3pm even on the weekends, so getting a meal under 10 bucks isn't hard to do. I got the #11 lunch special which was the chile relleno and bean burrito plate. Very filling and tasty. Post meal i got the flan which wasn't outstanding, but still good enough to eat the whole thing. The egg in the custard was over cooked so it wasn't as creamy as i would've liked, but like i said, still good enough overall. A great place to go if you're craving affordable mexican fare. Great atmosphere, quick service, good food, affordable pricing.

I went to Viva Mas in Bloomington, Indiana with my family before we went to my niece's play.  The restaurant is bright, vibrant and welcoming.  The walls and booths are covered with Mexican inspired artwork and paintings.  The ceilings hang bright star-like lights.  The menu offers pages and pages of food choices, ala cart items, and appetizers.  The bar menu has specials as well as dietary need drinks - I ordered a "keto" margarita - all natural ingredients, no mixes, lime juice, booze, salt on the rim, with no sugar.  How awesome is that!? Everyone in my party ordered different entrees from fajitas, Chile relenos, taco salad, combination platters, etc.  All the food was superb.  All the food was flavorful and filling.  I cannot wait to visit my brother and his family again with hopes of going to Viva Mas again. Yum!

The food and service was really good! The food came out very fast! There are a lot of nice items on the menu. My fajita was excellent it came with beans, rice, and tortillas. The price was reasonable.

On a recent trip to Bloomington, IN we were taken here by some friends that we met for dinner. They asked "Is Mexican OK?". My response is always "REALLY?!?!". Ok, right off the bat, this the single-most colorful restaurant you'll ever eat in. Seriously. The use of colors is amazing...almost to the point of overkill, but it works with the theme of the restaurant. We were seated immediately and given the menu. The menu here is gargantuan. Seriously. This bugger is ENORMOUS and comes with everything...EVERYTHING you would ever want in a Mexican menu. We started off with drinks. My wife had a margarita, I opted for a Michelada. The beer choices for the michelada were sadly limited so I had to settle for Modelo when I prefer Pacifico. When it arrived in its tankard of Michelada I was surprised at how big it was. To be honest, not one of the best Michelada's I've ever had. It was lacking in the tomato sauce (whatever they were using -- often Bloody Mary mix) and seasonings. What was supposed to be a tomatoey/spicy/beer mixture ended up being more like red-tinted beer. After much debate (YOU try to filter through a menu that big in just a few minutes) I decided on the Viva Mas Sampler....--BIG MISTAKE-- Not a mistake because something was wrong, but that there was something right. Something HUGELY right, and that being the size of this meal. Generally when you get a sampler it's not 5 full-sized items, but smaller sized. NOPE. Not here. A full sized taco, enchilada, tamale, chile relleno, and chalupa. OMFG there was a lot of food. So much, in fact, that it was delivered on three plates. THREE PLATES of food. Holy shit. Was it good? VERY. The taco and the chile relleno we exceptional, but three plates of food (plus beans and rice) can be a challenge to eat. Ultimately Jim did not end up a member of the clean plate club. I did what I could, but only managed a little more than half of All That Food. If there was a downfall to this visit, it was the service. Our server wasn't very....engaged. We asked for ice waters for all four of us and it took three trips to get all three. The drinks took an amazingly long time to surface, and any add-on items seemed to take a lot of effort to make our way. I'm given to understand that Viva Mas is relatively new, which can explain the service shortcomings. Aside from the disconnected service (and the marginal Michelada) I can see a lot of promise is this color landscape of Mexican food. I hope to visit it again some time.

I am on a quest to try out different restaurants in Bloomington; so we pulled into the lot at Viva Mas Mexican restaurant The Mexican music is delightful and the restaurant is colorful. The chips and salsa as appetizers hit the spot. We both ordered variations of the taco salad. Sandi ordered the beef taco salad and I devoured the fajita chicken taco salad. The taco bowl was crisp and delectable. My wife and I will be back again. If you are interested in good Mexican food you will want to try them out.

Viva Mas finally opened. . . And it was worth the wait! This is now #1 in my Bloomington Mexican Restaurant Lineup. This location has been many things - it started as a Chi Chi's, was a Margaritaville, a Hu Hot - and probably more in there, but I hope this one is here to stay! The food is great - traditional B-ton mexican menu. . Similar to the El Ranchero menu but maybe a few additional options and some more 'upscale' (take that in context) options. It's the location and decor that set it apart. It has a cool look and feel. Much like an explosion of typical mexican colorful decor but with a modern vibe, better music, and much more airy and comfortable. It's big. Tables are spaced out. There is a private party room, and a big fully stocked bar. I'm a fan of a few places in B-ton that have similar food and even basic look, but this place looks and feels 'more' - that's the best explanation . Our party of five ordered a bit of everything - tacos, quesadillas, pollo camarones and fajitas. All reported the food to be fantastic and flavorful. The chips and salsa were great - liked the salsa and it was slightly spicier than usual, which we all appreciate. Overall, this is a must-visit option for the mexican meal. It's guaranteed to become a Bloomington table for those near the mall looking for a great south-of-the-border option.

I'm not sure how I haven't reviewed VIvencia yet, but I looked and sure enough, I've been slacking!…read more After many trips, here is a quick summary of my most recent visit and some observations. TLDR: Love it. Visited today for breakfast with a friend, and it wasn't busy when I arrived, but was surprised at how many people arrived as we ate. It was a workday, and I thought there might be some breakfast meetings taking place, but the crowd trickled in a bit later as the morning lingered. Coffee options abound. As do smoothies and 'wellness shots' which aren't my thing but if you'd like a shot of healthy greens and a spice I've never heard of, enjoy! I had black coffee and it tasted better than most breakfast shots. They have a wide variety of lattes and other fancy custom options like the strawberry shortcake latte, etc. Ordered the breakfast burrito (sausage) and it was very good. I think I had the hangover burrito before (same thing but with gravy on top) and would opt for that one again next time. I had the strawberry banana pancakes at a prior visit as well, and remember them fondly. My dining companion had biscuits and gravy and said they were good. He is a man of few words. For dinner, they have a great menu that is 'latin flavors' as they say - everything from traditional Mexican food you'd find elsewhere to Argentinian options and more. They have great food. On a nice day, the patio is great other than the street traffic noise. This is a great option if you're wanting to get away from the other Mexican restaurants in town but still want something along those lines.
