I ate here for lunch earlier this month with my aunt and younger cousins for girls day and had such a great time. All of the staff working were really sweet and kept making sure we had plenty of refills on our drinks since it was so hot outside. We all tried something different, but I got the rice bowl with steak and really enjoyed it. It was super filling, had fresh ingredients, and I loved the different textures with the added crispy tortilla bits. They also have great chips and queso! You can never go wrong with a girls day out and Mexican food for lunch.

    Dog friendly patio!

I hesitated between three and four stars for this place. If they didn't have a patio, it would be a solid 3 stars. But they do have a patio, and that's what made this place great. Food - 2.5-3 stars I had the enchilada trio so I could try the green chicken, queso beef, and red cheese enchiladas. They were not very flavorful. The rice was fine, the beans were very good. Service - 4 Our server was friendly, chatty, and checked on us often (but not too often). She brought our dog a cup of water, too. Patio - 5 Tons of seating and the tables are far apart, which was great because so many people bring their dogs. We were there for an early dinner around 4:45 pm. There was already a family there with a dog and two more families brought their pups while we were there. Everyone was spaced out and the servers seem to genuinely like dogs, all stopping to ask our dogs' names and if they could pet them.

Not sure if they are the only Mexican restaurant in Brown county/Nashville Indiana but they are great as far as I know, it's still owned by a local woman. I'm at six other friends here for taco Tuesday but I got the chicken and shrimp fajita instead and it was delicious. Our food came up pretty quick. Our waitress was on it. This place is at the end of the strip, or the beginning of the strip, depending on which way you come in behind a lot of shopping. They have eating outside and inside a small bar area.

Was so impressed by how quickly they brought out the chips that I had to take a picture

My mom and I had a fantastic first experience here. We went around 6:30pm on a Saturday night. SUPER quick service. Chips and salsa and waters were put in front of us within 1 minute of sitting down. Food was out maybe 7 mins later. We were in and out within 45 mins. Everything is affordable. I got the Caribbean Bowl with Shrimp and it was amazing--probably a good 11 pieces of shrimp in it. My mom got some a la carte tacos and enchiladas, she loved what she got. Pros: affordable, good food, big variety of drinks, great location (walking distance of everything), family friendly, and is open later than any other restaurant on week days in Nashville, fast service Cons: Margheritas didn't have much alcohol in them, a little loud We will definitely be back the next time we visit Nasvhille!

Amazing outside patio!!! The outside area is huge and really clean. They allow dogs on the patio and the staff were very friendly, bringing the dogs water. The margaritas were great and the food is very reasonably priced as well - couldn't believe how cheap it was when we were leaving!

Food has little to no flavor. Was disappointed by the way it was served. Wish it had been better for the price.

Depending on how busy they are, you may have a short wait for a table, and your food might take a little longer to come out--but it's well worth it. Don't stop at just the restaurant. Take some time to explore the beautiful grounds, browse the merchandise shop, and walk out to Hard Truth on the Rocks, where you'll find a spacious outdoor deck overlooking the property. During the warmer months, they often have live music, making it an easy place to spend a few relaxing hours. The cocktails are excellent, the staff has always been incredibly friendly, and there's plenty of Hard Truth merchandise if you're looking for a souvenir. I may or may not have left with a t-shirt. Whether you're visiting Brown County for the day or just passing through Nashville, Hard Truth is more than just a restaurant--it's a destination that's absolutely worth adding to your itinerary.

I ordered the spinach salad and it came out perfectly. I had grilled chicken added to it. The flavor was great and there were sun-dried tomatoes, bacon, and walnuts on the salad. It's a museum of famous Bobby Knight moments (even the chair). Worth a visit just to see the memorabilia (especially if you're a fan). I should mention for those that don't know, Bobby Knight was a world famous coach of winning IU basketball teams. He had a unique temperament that gained him international notoriety. But now for the food. The menu offers standard Thai favorites (but no lunch menu). Artistic, fresh, flavorful and hot are a few words that describe the food. I had the Pad Kee Mao (drunken noodles). The vegetables were fresh (not frozen). The carrots were cut into beautiful flowers. The attention to detail was evident. The tangy sauce permeated the noodles. The chicken was tender. The portion was generous (I took half home.) My husband enjoyed his Chicken Pad Thai. Again, the portion was filling. The chicken was tender with lots of fresh bean sprouts and peanuts. Our server was super friendly and attentive. She checked on us several times and kept water glasses filled. She also told us that the Bobby Knight memorabilia came from the former owner of the building. Romantic vintage 70's music played above the IU basketball pics. The place has a small town diner feel with a distinct quirky, fun tribute to a basketball legend. The restaurant is on the lower level of the building. We climbed down stairs but I noticed an elevator from the upper accessible level is available. Restrooms are upstairs as well. We found free street parking around the block, but expect to pay $5 for parking on busy days. Bottom line - the food and service are excellent. The IU basketball decor is fascinating. Overall, 5 stars easy (and I'm not even a BK fan)!

The main floor dining like a lunch vibe, but it turned out to be a cozy choice. For appetizers, we started with the cornbread after our focaccia was unfortunately not the best. Seemed to be over-proofed. The cornbread was absolutely phenomenal and a must-have! A special shoutout to our waitress, Arya, who noticed our disappointment with the focaccia and generously brought us the cornbread on the house. That kind of service is truly memorable! I also had the beets and peaches salad, which was refreshing but a tad overdressed. Still, I couldn't resist finishing the entire dish. For my main course, I ordered the lasagna, and I can confidently say it was one of the best I've ever had. It wasn't overloaded with cheese and instead complemented by mushrooms and pesto, and surprisingly light on the stomach. My husband chose the filet and rated it an 8/10, saying he thoroughly enjoyed it. We were so full by the end that we skipped dessert. The decor of the restaurant is beautiful, and the staff was incredibly attentive throughout our meal. The only downside was the atmosphere; coming from Chicago, we expected a more bustling vibe on a Thursday night. It seems Indianapolis is a bit quieter during the week. Overall, we had a delightful dining experience, and hats off to Arya for her exceptional service!
