Best flight experience ever!!!! This was my first time flying with Viva Aerobús from Chihuahua, MX to Monterrey, MX to Houston, TX. The take off and landing was very smooth. All the flight attendants were respectful and helpful on both flights. The best part was once we landed in Monterrey they called out people's names to get off first for their connecting flights and escorted to the gate!! We were able to catch our flight on time. The only two bad things was the wifi didn't work on the first flight and the food and drinks were not included, but they did have a variety of foods on menu. Mejor experiencia de avión! I am out $91 for hotel $129 for food $456 from missing my work I need reimbursement. This is a no star review As the others stated, couldn't check in online on the app. We get there 4 hours before the flight. Everything is closed. I had to go bk and forth with them and customer service. Our flight was on time but the front desk lady did not help. There was plenty of time to check me in and she didn't. She then directed me to customer service and they didn't help either. I had to buy new tickets for later time. Now they're telling my credit card dispute department that we missed it. This is the absolute worst airline experience I've ever had. We took a family trip for six of us to Cancun for our 20th Anniversary. We checked in fine on Sunday in Tijuana, but when I arrived in Cancun...no bag! I spent the entire week having to buy clothes from gift shops or the golf course pro shop. As I write this, they still haven't found my bag and have listed it as "lost". My bag contained approximately $4500 worth of clothes and my wife's anniversary gift. When booking consider knowing that they may cancel or change flight time. We had a scheduled flight for Friday @9am. To our surprise we were reschedule for Saturday @9am. Having us negotiate our stay since we would not be arriving on Friday. As well as all activities that were planned for day. Stressful for sure. We decided to call them directly and see if we can find similar flight to our previous one, none available for which we decided to cancel flat. Viva Aerobus stole $15.00 from me when they refused to refund me that amount. Using my hotel's computer to check in on my flight back to Houston, I inadvertently clicked on a button which apparently charge the $15.00 for a second bag which I did not have. I did not even know that this had happened until I was at the airport and the airline rep told me. She gave my a number to call to request the refund. She said that the confirmation number for the flight would prove I only had one bag. The number was no good. I went on line and requested the refund, explaining that it was a mistake I did not know had actually happened since I only had one bag. Viva Aerobus replied NO--THEY WOULD NOT REFUND the $15.00. I replied several times, emphasizing that I only had one bag. Several times Viva responded stating NO--THEY OULD NOT REFUND. If you can avoid it, do not use this airline. I had the displeasure of flying with this dreadful airline. They have a limit for carryon luggage oh 10 kg which most Mexican airline do. In my experience this is the only airline that has scales at the gate weighing all of you carryons. I was past the limit and they wanted to charge 850.00 pesos about 45.00 USD. I explained that my ticket covered one checked bag with no fees. They replied that I should have checked it in at the counter. That this charge was like a penalty for trying to get away with bringing extra weight into the cabin. ARE YOU KIDDING ME! So now they are the police and can charge penalties. I had to pay and needless to say I was very upset. Don't use this airline if you can. I fly regularly in Mexico and try to avoid this airline. The worst airline! We purchased tickets here because the tickets were cheap, but trust me,It's better to pay more. The phrase "you get what you pay for" has never been more relatable. Long story short, we purchased these tickets way ahead of time to not have any issues. Paid VIP, paid for seats. At the last minute they switched our flight twice. Every time I tried to call I couldn't get through and after waiting for a long time they would just hang up. They don't give refunds. So even though I paid for seats and they inconvenienced me I had to choose a seat way in the back. And got no refund. Everything after that just got worse. On the way back just as bad. VIP is basically pointless they are clueless. Not to mention they want you to wear masks but don't provide any for you. Not to mention the ac was not working. TERRIBLE terrible service. First off we tried checking in online a day before and it wouldn't let us. Our original flight was supposed to board at 6:40 but when we got to the airport it was delayed until 8:22. When we arrived we asked someone where the international flights for viva aerobus were and they sent us to a line which was ridiculously long. We were in the line since 5am waiting and we finally got to the front desk where they told us the flight was closed and couldn't help us (It was 6am at this point). When the manager was called he told the employee to open it and she claimed she didn't know how. This was all a game to STEAL everyone's money because obviously the manager knew he could open the flight. This happened to four families. They were so RUDE and didn't figure out any way to help us. They were CUSSING at us on top of that.We even had bought seats on the exit row. On top of that the flight was delayed yet they claimed the flight was closed even though it was delayed an hour and no one had boarded yet. We had to buy yet another flight because they couldn't accommodate us. Would NOT recommend this airline. They robbed at least 5 families that we saw. We all wanted to talk to the module of their airline and they said they didn't have one. The worst travel experience ever from front to back. The translation in to english is terrible across the board. I prepaid for luggage twice and was told that I selected carry on. Who the hell pays for 2 20kg carryon bags? We had none. They changed my flight twice and scheduled without informing me and THEN I was unable to make changes because I did, not them? If could select no stars that would be perfect. This airline has been nothing but a pain in the rear. My parents left from TJ to Mexico city and were charged excess weight. It would have been fine if they were charged the correct amount, however, they were charged far more weight than what they were carrying! When I called customer service all they could tell me was I had to speak directly to the airline. OK, so I wanted to go out of town on a short trip that didn't break the bank, nor be too much in my comfort zone. So I flew to Guadalajara on Viva Aerobus, Mexico's low-cost carrier. Short version: It's A-OK if you want to travel "like a native," but make sure your Spanish is "muy excelente" and that you are the adventuresome type. Long version: Viva Aerobus is Mexico's version of Spirit Airlines, minus the rude attendants and crappy seating. Viva Areobus only travels to three cities in Mexico from Bush Intercontinental: Guadalajara, Cancun and Monterrey. If you are not going to these cities, forget it - use another carrier. Purchasing tickets on their site is easy, quick and convenient. They give you a base price (in either dollars or Mexican pesos), and you can add on VIP seating, luggage allowance and all that. Even with the "hidden extras," my round-trip ticket was less than $250. Wow. Unlike United Airlines, Viva Aerobus is in Terminal D - meaning fewer crowds, quicker TSA groping and convenient gates to depart from. I got to the airport at 8:30 am for my 10:30 am flight, and by 8:50 I was at the gate. Wow. Clientele is typical of any Mexican airline - lots of abuelitas with their grandkids (most of them loud and hyper), young couples, young families - very few single people. I'm sure they probably looked at me as curiously as I looked at them. But I digress. Seating is like Southwest Airlines - first come, first served. Even though I was in the "third" category (out of six), I still managed to snag exit-row seats. Lots of legroom. Plus, the aircraft was a 737-300 (one of the older models), and the seats fully recline! Wow. NOTE: Since this is a Mexican carrier, all announcements are primarily done in Spanish. If you aren't fluent, either take along a friend who is, or fly a U.S. carrier. They do the safety instructions in English, but that's about it. However - that being said - the in-flight experience was definitely interesting. Yes, they charge you for refreshments; however, they charge in pesos - so you'd better have some on you. They do accept credit cards on board, but it's a hassle. But hey - this is a Mexican airline. It's the only time I've ever seen an airline refreshment menu with a michelada on it! (It was a steal at 50 pesos = $3.35) And where else can you get Mexican sandwiches, beers and other refreshments so cheap? WOW. Another thing - the plane was only less than half full. I had a whole row to myself. You would think that with the low prices and direct service, the plane would be like a cattle car. Nope. The best thing about Viva Aerobus is that you can also purchase bus tickets, taxi fares or other ground transportation while on board. If you know where you are going and kind of know how to get around those cities, it is a godsend. They sell fares cheaper than at the airport. So - will I fly them again? Possibly. Do I recommend them? Only if you are adventuresome and can speak Spanish. If you are the type that needs some hand-holding, then it is not for you. read more

I couldn't wait to get back to review this airline.... $155 round-trip to Cancun?!?!?! Who would say no to that?? My friends and I were absolutely pleased with this airline. We were able to check-in our bags at no charge as long as they were under 11lbs. We had lots of leg room, new seats, snacks available at a small fee, fast and easy boarding. On our flight back, we each had a row of seats all to ourselves. No complaints here.. I'll definitely be using this airline again. When leaving Cancun, make sure you are at the right terminal that goes back to Houston and not the one that goes to Veracruz. Took us awhile to realize that and had to catch a cab to the next terminal as it was too far to walk at night. read more

I only will give 1 star, Don't use this airline, pay a little bit more and flight with a different carrier! They don't offer coffee or Water, seats are super inconfortable, you can't put your sit down at all! At least a little bit recline but the seats are literally and regular positions! I don't recommend Vivaaerobus to anybody. They cancelled my tickets without notice and didn't return the money and realized hours before the flight. This is the full story: I bought 4 tickets, I received confirmation from them and my credit card was charged. The night before I decided to print the boarding passes, because otherwise they charge you at the airport and realized that my reservation had been cancelled without notice. I called them and they told me that my bank had charged back the charges, which doesn't make any sense because my credit card issuer would never issue a charge back, they would only deny a charge. However, I called my card issuer and they reassured me that no charge back had been processed and that I should dispute those charges. Vivaaerobus charged me for flights, decided to cancel them and didn't return the money. So had to cancel my entire vacation. read more

Flights are wicked cheap from the Tijuana Airport to Mexico City ( 100 round trip ) I was nervous that we were going to get delayed and all this nonsense- BUT our trip to Mexico City and back was a dream. Our flights didn't get delayed- we got there on time- and the pilot and staff were lovely. Things to note- it is a budget airline. Never call the US number, no one will answer. Message them on Facebook- they are so quick. Never check a bag - carry on all the way. That's how you do budget airlines. Worst experience ever!!! Our flight was delayed in Tijuana for 2hours which was headed to Guadalajara. This caused us to miss our connecting flight to Cancun. Once we landed in Guadalajara they told us that there wouldn't be another flight until the next day at 935pm. This bigger issue was that we had to pay $500 dollars for four tixs; wife and two kids. They said they don't compensate for late flights but only offer a discount... We ended up paying $1000 dollars for another flight that same day. Worst airline I have ever dealt with. I have tried to request some type of refund but no response from the company.
