My parents do not speak English well, and traveling internationally can be stressful for them. Mr. Jody went above and beyond to make sure they felt comfortable and supported. He patiently helped them with their luggage, clearly explained how the wheelchair service works, and even took the time to walk them through the transit process in Korea. What stood out most was his professionalism and kindness. He remained calm, friendly, and respectful throughout the entire interaction. He did not rush the process and made sure my parents understood everything before moving on. That level of care and attention made a big difference for our family. We loaded the plane at 630 am only to sit there on the runway for a while with the plane going on and off until finally they decided it was not a quick fix so we had to leave the plane and now at 1125 we are finally on another plane heading to LAX for a week of fun in the sun. Here I am back in my same door seat patiently waiting to depart from George Bush airport.Thanks to the pilot and Delta crew staff for getting us to our destination safely. TSA should be held accountable for their actions to pick and choose which products they deem over the suggested ounces. When my carryon had the same amount of products consisting relatively the same in liquid an eye wasn't batted, but when it came to my open backpack with 13 dollar facial wash a problem has occurred. The TSA rep took my bottle and he dumped what he "thought" was 3 oz. When I received the bottle it was only a swish left. I'm severely disappointed as to why this has to be and issue. You would think with how advanced technology has become flying with oz in your carryon should be the last concern on an airlines mind. We had a good experience flying Delta into and out of George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston. Delta is currently our preferred carrier. For this trip, we were coming from and headed back to Raleigh-Durham and connected in Atlanta (ATL) to get to and from Houston. My wife and I flew flight DL1223 from ATL to IAH and flight DL1223 (same flight number) from HOU to ATL. Both flights arrived to and departed from Gate A15 at IAH Terminal A, on the north side of the terminal. Both flights were on an Airbus A321. Inbound, we were in seats 31A (left window) and 31B (middle). Outbound, we were in seats 24A (left window) and 24B (middle). These seats were economy and Delta "Main Cabin," which meant we could select and change our seats. We boarded in Zone 5. Roundtrip, for the two of us, the RDU-ATL-IAH flights cost $791.90 ($395.95 roundtrip per person), purchased directly through Delta. These flights were booked only 11 days ahead of time. Both flights were on time. Estimated flight time inbound was 2 hours 10 minutes and outbound was 2 hours 15 minutes. Actual durations were right around or under 2 hours each. We arrived early each way. Both flights had clean and comfortable seats and cabins. As Delta SkyMiles members, Wi-Fi was included on both flights and it worked well. I enjoyed watching live TV (news and sports, mostly sports) on both flights. Also, these were among the first flights where we used Delta's relatively-new "Delta Sync" seatback screens. As far as I can tell, Delta Sync gives you a personalized entertainment experience, kind of like logging into your Netflix account. And it welcomes you by your first name, which is a nice touch because it makes you feel "special." My wife and I have become bigger fans of Delta in recent years. The airline has really stepped up their game while American and United have fallen behind. The gap has widened. Delta has improved and is better in just about every aspect -- cabins (condition and cleanliness), in-flight Wi-Fi and entertainment, and customer service. Come on, AA and UA. Keep up. read more

LET ME TELL YOU, DELTA AIRLINES FOR MY RECENT TRIP FROM IAH TO ROC WAS AMAZING!!! Everyone from the lady to checked me in at the baggage counter, the gate attendants and the flight attendants were so friendly and helpful. For some reason, upon checking in online the day prior, my 4 year-old son and I were seated on separate ends of the plane. The gate attendant quickly move us together AND on the second plane, a FULL FLIGHT... we were the ONLY row with an open seat! (Not sure if they purposely placed the open seat with us OR someone failed to show for their flight, we appreciated the extra space... anyone who has traveled with a young kid knows how much STUFF you bring, not to mention, how wiggly kids can be!) The planes we were on were awesome!! They appeared to be BRAND NEW!!! So clean and high tech!!! Each seat had their own touch screen tv!! LOVED LOVED LOVED this feature!! My son and I were able to watch newly released movies for FREE! It was also neat to track where the flight was and even play a few games. Made the time fly by!!! Checked bag cost us $30, which sucks, but better than another airline I saw which was a whopping $70! All in all, we WILL be flying Delta again! We had such a great traveling experience. read more

I flew Delta from Paris to Houston, layover in Atlanta. Previously when we tried to change our seats on the Paris Atlanta flight, it was disallowed. During boarding for Atlanta to Houston, the gate agent scanned the previous leg of my ticket, realized her error, then generated a boarding slip and handed it to me. I took aisle seat 30D as assigned on my ticket. A passenger then confronted me, saying it was his seat. Turns out my new slip had changed my seat to 30A window. And the agent had failed to tell me. Thanks to her, I now had a degraded seat (I dislike window seats) and a verbal disagreement with another passenger. Worse, the previously disallowed seat change was clearly easily processed, as demonstrated by this gate agent. Delta was clearly being unaccommodating and opaque about seat flexibility. The danger is that the passenger confrontation caused by the failure of the agent to inform me of the seat change, could have escalated. In 60 years of flying I have never encountered such an easily avoidable, yet negative experience before. This has diminished my estimation of Delta. Delta should be ashamed. The Paris to Atlanta flight was a mediocre experience, where the stewardess would sometimes skip drinks request to our two seats in the middle row. Whether this was intentional or accidental, I can only speculate, but it seems consistent that they just don't value service and accommodation to their run of the mill customers. read more

Honestly I can say that this has been the best flight experience on Delta . I'm giving them 4 stars only because of a few minor details . Nothing really worth writing about . First check in on the Delta App makes things simple . Security check in wasn't bad mostly because I have TSA pre check of which I won't ever be without . My flight from Texas to Atlanta was full and not much room for anyone with extra baggage, glad I only had my little suitcase. The flight was fine except for bad weather so it was a bumpy ride. My monitor to watch movies wasn't working properly so not much to do but rest for the flight . Then we land in Atlanta and I was lucky it was the same gate for my next connection. Same seat again so no movies . At least this time we got drinks and a snack as the first flight there wasn't any service due to the bad weather which I completely understand. The same flight attendants were on both my flights. One flight attendant named Melanie just really stood out from the rest , her customer service skills definitely made everything better. Service was good but the fact that 4 out of the 5, not 2, not 3, but 4 out of the 5 meals offered were vegetarian. And the 1 and only non vegetarian meal was some slices of salami, cheese and crackers. And this was first class. Unless you are a rabbit I don't recommend Delta based on this experience. read more

I am beyond upset and disappointed with delta. The standard of customer service has truly dropped. I have seen rats at the boarding gate in Cleveland and once I informed the employees they were not surprise. I was told that they were aware of the infestation and dismissed the situation. The past few flights the plane was dirty and my flight was delayed while being trapped on the aircraft for over two hours. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? (well you know how it goes). Part Un: 3 years ago my flight from ORD to LGA got cancelled at the last minute when it should've been canceled hours before. It was blizzarding in Chicago and many other flights on other airlines were canceled the night before. I checked all morning, it kept getting delayed, but not cancelled. I rode all of the blue line (Oak Park to ORD) rather than risk a cab during a blizzard. As soon as I walk through the airport doors, it got cancelled. Rather than wait at ORD for 7 hours for the next flight, I decided to cancel my trip and rode all the blue line again. I waited on hold for about an hour and a half, but was able to get a time-sensitive credit. Part Deux: I just got back from a Delta/Aeromexico trip. You cannot look into changing your flight online for my ticket, you must call. We thought about booking an earlier flight home. I waited on hold for three-and-a-half hours. Nothing was available, c'est la vie. But it's the info that came later that makes me never want to fly Delta again, and I am very grateful for the call center person's candor. With the Basic Economy Ticket, you MUST call customer service, no online change attempts. Their policy also just changed such that there will be no more time-sensitive credits with Basic Economy. The next level up is a few hundred dollars more. I bought Allianz protection for my tickets, which doesn't do the trick. They've also eliminated day passes for Delta Sky Club. And on both of my flights, they randomly change the times on you. Not worth it, gonna avoid Delta like the COVID. read more

I used Delta on my flight return from Texas back home Hawaii. This was my first time using this airlines and had wanted to try them out. Self check in was fast and easy .. but, checking my luggage was .. aggravating. So I self check in myself, and after, you stand in another line to check in your bags. Now, I know its early (500am) but don't take it out on customers! The counter agent talked so fast it was hard to understand her. And when I kept saying "Excuse me" so she could repeat she just looked more annoyed and continued to talk fast while giving me the eff you look. I have always flown either United or American. Delta has been a total experience. Good and bad. Although I wish I had flown First class instead of domestic. Not sure if it would've made my experience better or worst. First .. I had 2 layovers, one in Minnesota and the other in LA. Going to Minnesota, the little charter plane was the most cramped I ever want to be in a plane. I sat next to someone who not only took up the armrest, but also had the habit of leaning my way when he started falling asleep. Two hours of that and I was over it. The bathroom is the size of a small, very small child closet. It was so difficult to move around. Leaving Minnesota and LA was totally different. The planes were bigger and roomier. Also, when they checked the contents of my checked luggage, not only did they not re-wrap things that were not so delicate but I thought it would be broken since they just toss the luggage around .. but, a few things were missing from my bags. Things that are allowed in checked in luggage. I am going to file a complaint with them. Here's a tip folks .. it sounds tedious but its helpful. Take pictures of whats inside your luggage. I genuinely don't know why this airline hates me. They "upgraded" me into a middle "comfort" seat right between two huge men in the row immediately behind first class. This is is fucking ridiculous. I had an aisle seat, five rows back. They stick me in this shitty seat. It's "15D" which I assumed was an aisle seat. But this is a mutant plane with two rows and three rows. So I gave up my aisle seat for a middle. The Row behind first class absolutely sucks. There is no screen. I can't put my bag under the seat in front of me, because there is no space. I banged my shoulder hard on the rigid divider separating The Chosen Ones in first class and the deplorables one row back. I hate this goddamn airline. If I wanted abusive service, I could fly American or United and taking the abuse much more cheaply. Postscript...now on the connecting flight. Two giants in the two seats next to me, happily on the aisle and way back in the "stench" section. I can take this any more. Time to dump Delta. JD was our first class and whole flight supervisor. He spent most of the flight on his cell phone, and talked about how you could poop in the back lavatory with a nice view. I was in first class. Had to hit the call bell to get a response for more snacks, drink refills, etc. He was so rude and disrespectful. Not attentive at all to our needs. Made a point of saying he has a baseball history. Guy seems like a has-been on a power trip. Sad for him, and disappointed for me that my "first class" experience was super disappointing. I was just telling my friend how I flew delta through the pandemic when my Dad was sick with cancer because they seemed to follow the most up-to-date safety and practice guidelines, and have flown first class many times with exceptional service, but have never been so severely disappointed by the service I received. I have been flying Delta flights for years but last year was a low point for the airlines. I checked into my flight 24 hours prior, looked for flight status updates the day of and arrived at the airport 2.5 hours early. Utilized the automated ticketing system and it reads, "Please See Customer Representative/Ticketing Agent." I shift over to the Delta Counter and the queue is long at the Economy ticketing agent with three agents. The Delta Sky Priority queue had TWO people in line with two agents to help process them. I wait patiently for about 20 minutes, the Economy queue moved up three people, by this time the Sky Priority has processed four people and now no queue. OK, at this point, I am seeing a CANCELLED STATUS on my Delta flight app and I look over to Sky Priority and still no queue so my logic kicks in being that all representatives are in customer service (so I thought)!!! I go over to Sky Priority and explain my situation about the updated status y(see above)..to which the Sky Priority representative looks at the screen and says "Oh, I am sorry..Your flight has been CANCELLED with a look like(I really do not want to help you, why are you over here!!!). I ask what are the alternatives to which she states, "You can continue on the first leg of your flight, but will miss your connection and while have to stay in Atlanta and continue to Augusta the next morning or we can get you on a flight the next day." This will not work for me so I ask about cash/voucher compensation and she states, "We do not do that here and proceeds to give me a green card with a Delta toll free number." At this point I am heated, but maintain my composure, I politely state the obvious that, the flight is CANCELLED, I am just now receiving an update of this fact at the airport and basically you are saying there is nothing you can do, I have to find other arrangements for transportation and lodging. What the what!!! I proceed to leave the airport with Delta toll free number in hand and call for an UBER. I contact the toll free number given and the representative on the phone was very empathetic and you could hear it in her voice. I explained the situation (see above) and she tried to get me on a flight that night on a different airline, but alas no seats on other airlines were available. I inquired about cash/voucher compensation and she informed me that it has to be done at the Delta ticketing counter, to which I informed her that the agent at the counter told me specifically that she COULD NOT perform the transaction and I would have to call the Delta toll free number. The representative on the phone apologized profusely after I stated the obvious that the SKY PRIORITY ticketing agent flat out LIED in my face!!! The customer representative on the phone could only offer me 500 SkyMiles for the trouble which were credited to my account the next day, but I would have rather had the voucher and taken a code share airline. When I arrived on Detroit to make a connection there was a weather delay for 30 minutes. When I arrived st my departing gate one of the agents was serving free soft drinks with those snacks again. Ripoff Skymiles and Ripoff Prices!!! Recently Delta bought out Northwest Airline and I was forced to have my NWA Skymiles program merge with Delta's program. When I was with NWA I have accumulated enough miles to travel a worldwide roundtrip to any destination. Just recently, I tried to use my Skymiles and those miles have become only a fraction of what they used to be worth. I WAS SO LOOKING FORWARD TO HAWAII, but NO....thanks to Delta I can't enjoy my Skymiles. Not only are my Skymiles reduced to worthless value, I can't even do a combination purchase with cash and Skymiles. To make me feel like a worthless idiot member, I was quoted prices much higher then what I would cost me to purchase through online resources like Cheaptickets.com, Hotwires.com, Priceline.com or even through my travel agent. I mean much higher like $500 more! You would figure since I am a Delta member, I would get the BEST prices. Hell if you compare prices, Delta flights are the most expensive. WTF...do they have naked stewardesses and free alcohol on their flights?!? So forget enrolling in anything that Delta has to offer because they will screw you either way. Anyone know any lawyers that will try this case? I hear a class action lawsuit! read more

I gave this 2 stars because I am here and did get from point A to point B in one piece, but Delta Flights (the entire way there and back) was an awful flying experience. Aside from the RIDICULOUS fees for luggage and every other nickel and dime, the people who work there (save two flight attendants) are rude. At one point on the way back from New Hampshire to Houston with a lay over in Detroit, we had a several hour delay. That I can handle. However, our gate changed 4 or 5 times without anyone telling us. We would ask just to confirm and got snapped at by the gate lady (anyone else think of Hoggle from Labyrinth when you see those people??) Once we FINALLY get on, we get strapped in, lectured about our Kindles being on, etc when after rounding the landing strip they stopped and found a leak. Kept us there for about 40 minutes while being rude to everyone (this wasn't even to me, this was just others around me) and then come on and say "never mind, no big deal!" IT'S A LEAK, FOR GOODNESS SAKE! It was the worst flight I've ever had, and I'm not afraid of flying. Even if they are cheaper than other airlines, they probably won't be after all their fees, I say pay a little more for service and safety! read more

So my fiancée is in the military and he is currently stationed in Japan. As usual requesting leave is a long process and gets approved with little to no time to book a flight. This is expensive because the longer you wait to book a flight the higher it gets. I research airlines that offer military discounts and delta pops up. I call and apparently a discount is given during certain time frames. So when?? That can't be answered. Do you offer military discounts? If you do when ? Terrible customer service at IAH. We were booked on one flight and had boarding passes to another and she acted as if it was our fault and refused to work with me. Getting in touch with anyone at Delta's help line was close to impossible. We ended up having to wait 12 hours before we were able to get on a flight. Ugh! My wife, my friends, and I booked Delta for the first time on 10/23/19 and it left such a bad taste in our mouths that we decided to never fly Delta again. I am just now getting a chance to write this review as I work hard year round and looked very forward to our vacation in Salt Lake City and Park City for the first time in our lives, as well as to celebrate my wife and I's 19th year anniversary. We made several plans upon arrival and the excitement soon grew into sheer frustration as our flight was delayed over 5 hours for departure. As we were originally due to arrive in Salt Lake City by the afternoon, we ended up not arriving until nightfall, which killed a whole day. Even when we flew back home on 10/27/19, there were more delays, although it was not as long as departure. I've flown with several carriers in the past due to my business trips, yet no carrier, even Spirit or Frontier, which are the lowest grade providers, created as much frustration as flying with Delta. Their boarding process is also God awful and frustrating if you have never flown with them before. If first impressions is everything, your company failed to impress me or any of my companions who booked the same flight as I did so that we may travel together. That's just plain awful. read more

Bought two First Class tickets along with insurance months in advance. Was relocated out of state for employment. There is no Delta Airlines service within 201 miles of my new location. The insurance company refuses to refund the ticket price as does Delta Airlines. Moral: never again will I waste money on "travel insurance" (apparently it only refunds tickets if you die - literally) and never again will I fly on Delta Airlines. Unfortunately, United would NOT give me my luggage back. Mrs. Polite was able to navigate the United mess, not an easy task with three United employees that LIED, even though she works with Delta, to find my luggage. I have never had better customer service anywhere. After booking a flight through Expedia for a trip home for Thanksgiving I realized several days later that I had booked the wrong date. Expedia refuses to help me change the flight so I call Delta explained the situation to them and not only did the change the flight the waived all the fees as well. So, I have mixed feelings about Delta. They used to be the best American airline company, as far as I was concerned. They may be still, but then again, American airlines have really gone downhill over the past 10 years or so. I still have to give Delta high marks for their service. The people taking care of you on the Delta faciliies are generally some of the nicest people in the air and on the ground. Their website is easy to use and has some nice features. BUT -- in terms of domestic flights, their ability to get a plane off the ground on time, get it to the destination on time, and actually have a nice plane with nice stuff... Not So Much. The domestic US fleet seems to be a bunch of old, tired, sad planes. Their upholstry is ripped and dirty and some of the features in the planes don't work. The blankets and pillows that they give you are really pathetic, even when you are traveling "first class". What makes things worse is if you have flown transAtlantic with Delta, you will have most likely flown on a new, pretty, and comfortable plane. That is a whole other experience. I wish I knew why the transAtlantic routes rate new equipment, but the domestic legs don't. Heck, why don't they at least clean and fix up the planes they have? Also, Delta, please make sure that you get the planes off the tarmac and not just pushed away from the jetways so that you REALLY are departing on time. It should not count if we have to sit there for 45 minutes while you try to figure out if you're going to Cincinatti or to Houston due to having someone miss their plane to Cinci. Come on. read more

Worst customer service ever not only did they do nothing about charging my family for comfort seats that we paid for and did not get she had the nerve to tell me i got what i paid for. I specifically click and paid for delta comfort seats and was seated in economy She can see that i paid more but told me that was only for preferred seating. I already had seats 3 rows back i paid for what more leg room that the delta comfort is supposed to provide. The only thing i am getting is the shaft. Do not seat down in the wrong seats with delta fly Southwest at least you know what get. Delta just wants your money and does not care about their customers read more

We just checked in for our flight which we were not sitting together. The customer service agent, Emily, fought hard to get us seats together on a full flight. She even called in a favor from the gate agent to get us seats together. She was so sweet and took her time to help us. Delta is our new favorite airline. So long united. read more
