They seem very similar to Spirit in the way of cost and pricing set up. Everything is piece rate, so you want better boarding? Buy it. Want to choose your seat ahead of time? Buy it. Want a soda or snack on board? Buy that too. So the cost is no frills, just the flight, everything else is an add-on. It's not wildly expensive, but can add up quickly. The boarding process was beyond chaotic. The groups are massive, and once everyone lines up, the lines stretch well into the terminal depending on where your gate is. A few things I appreciated were the flight attendants keeping the luggage bins closed for the first few rows while boarding happens. They didn't open them until people in those rows began being seated. This and upon landing, they didn't allow the whole plane to stand up at once, they controlled this as well. Nice touches that I wish a few other airlines would adopt. Service was friendly and helpful at the gates and on board. Overall, a solid 3.5 as an airline overall. I wouldn't mind flying Volaris again when back in Mexico.

Fly with Viva or other airlines that travel to Mexico. I HATE YOU VOLARIS!

My morning flight was canceled with little to no notice, and from that moment on, everything fell apart. It took nearly six hours for staff to provide any meaningful information or assistance on rebooking or next steps. The lack of urgency, communication, and leadership was shocking. What made it worse was the so called manager, who clearly had no idea how to handle the situation. He was disorganized, unprepared, and ineffective. At one point, another passenger a woman had to step in and literally guide him step by step on how to move forward. That should never happen in a situation involving hundreds of stranded travelers. This trip was especially important to me. My family was already inside the airplane, and I was traveling for my father's birthday, which is now completely ruined due to this late cancellation and incompetence. There was zero empathy shown for passengers with families, time sensitive plans, or special occasions. After hours of waiting, all I was offered was a flight the next day and a single overnight stay, which felt insulting given the disruption, stress, and lost time. No real accountability. No proper compensation. Just delays and excuses. On top of everything, the airport itself is poorly equipped to handle disruptions: * Not enough seating * Very limited charging areas (my phone nearly died) * Overcrowded, chaotic, and uncomfortable * Passengers everywhere visibly frustrated and exhausted This airport clearly lacks competent management and basic passenger support infrastructure. I will never return to Tijuana International Airport (TJ) Airport, and I strongly recommend avoiding it if you value your time, sanity, or travel plans. I'll gladly stick to other airports moving forward and avoid this one at all costs.

We purchased tickets through Aeroméxico using the CBX. The CBX was supposed to be in lied with our purchase however. I even called customer service to confirm this a couple of days before our trip. I was told that the CBX was included and we would only need our airline confirmation number. It turns out, we had no issues crossing over but on the way back we weee told the CBX charge wasn't included and we would have to pay extra. This all was very confusing especially since I called to confirm that it was included. Not sure if I would use this airline again or if I do, I'll purchase the CBX tickets on my own.

The girls at the desk made us weigh carryon & personal bag IE purse with it, making us check it because of weight overage they stated costing us $175. We didn't know so we just paid it on our way home. We were at the Mexican airport bought a couple of bottles of alcohol at the airport and put inside our luggage we went to check our bag and they said you don't need to check it. It's a carry-on bag we said that's not what happened on our way to Mexico City. They said we were overweight and they charged us $175. They said they shouldn't of charged you you're underweight you're only at 11 pounds and that's with the alcohol I was infuriated so when we returned, I called customer service and they stated they couldn't do anything for me. Hints the reason for the review.

I have flown out of the Tijuana airport a few times in my life, the most recent time being last…read moreweek. It was the first time I went to that airport since CBX had been constructed. Hubby and I were headed to Puerto Escondido, which is very expensive and very time-consuming to fly to from the airport in San Diego. However, flight prices and times were much more reasonable from Tijuana. Thanks to CBX, we didn't need to find anyone to cross the border and drive us directly to the airport, especially as our flight departed at 5:40 AM. It was nice to have an easy drop off on this side of the border. Anyway, we were dropped off on the US side, and had pre-purchased CBX tickets online for $50 per person, round trip. I felt that the price was very fair for the staffing and amenities along the way. We had already reserved a rideshare to drive us to CBX, but I saw the secure parking lots and realized that parking there is also a valid, safe option. It appeared that some of the secured parking cost about $30 per day, making it a good option depending how may days you would like to park your car. Anyway, when we entered, there were people guiding us, as it wasn't too crowded at that early hour. You scan your CBX ticket, your boarding pass, and your passport. Then you are able to walk through the barriers. There are escalators and elevators to get to the bridge, and signs stating that there is assistance available for people with disabilities. The bridge was clean and air-conditioned. We walked through customs just prior to entering the Tijuana airport. When I had learned about CBX, I was reluctant. A friend of mine told me that she had walked much further in various airports. It is true. The walk is short and easy Upon coming back to the states, we learned that there were several taco and other food trucks on the US side of CBX, as well as Starbucks and a well-known mall pretzel company. All in all, I am grateful to have a way to access the TJ airoprt in a very easy and affordable way. I plan to continue to use CBX for more affordable flights south of the border.

I used CBX to fly from TIJ to San Miguel Allende 10 years ago, and recently to Cancun. Both times were uneventful, exactly how I like my airport experiences to be. Purchase your CBX pass and parking ahead of time. Parking is priced cheapest in the dirt lot and most expensive in the covered/paved lot. I prefer the Goldilocks of uncovered paved in Lot A up front. Upon arrival, scan your CBX ticket and boarding pass (you can link them and just scan boarding pass as well, but don't need to). Same on the way back.
