She took care to explain why she was prescribing certain medications and gently prodded me to make more helpful healthy choices. She was confident but gentle in her guidance. Others commented here, saying that she failed to diagnose a rare medical condition. I don't find that to be disqualifying because, by definition, a rare medical condition is hard to discover. Dr. Khoo was cheerful, sensible and straightforward. Exactly what I wanted in a doctor. Would recommend her highly.

Instead, I called to confirm the appointment (scheduled for three weeks from today) and they have no record of me or the appointment. She moved over to Sutter and *completely dropped me and the appointment she proactively scheduled with me.* She didn't give me any notice about dropping me or anything I needed to do. I assumed we were all set for the upcoming appointment and now they are treating me as a new patient with the next available appointment four months from now. REALLY poorly handled by the doctor all around.

I would give them 25 stars if I could. Seriously. Every time I have any type of interaction with the office staff I feel grateful for their efficient, kind and professional follow-through. They are on the ball and happy to help. Recently i ran into a scare about my lungs which lead to a scare about my heart and they beautifully coordinated all the referrals I needed to see the right specialists and made sure test result after test result got to the next doctor i needed to see. Dr Lucas even made a point of calling me after hours to be sure i got the latest results and reviewed them with me to let me know my heart was working well - because she knew I was worried. Now that is genuine care. Thank you Doctor Lucas and your Great Team for always being there for your patients. You are the BEST. : )

I met with NP Lu who is very patient and addressed all my issues and concerns. She took the time to make referrals to the specialists that I need and ordered all the prescriptions I need. She never rushed the appointment at all. I''ve been with Kaiser and UCSF before who only gave me 10 minutes of their time. With NP Lu, I was with her for a while 30 minutes. Yay. Side note, it appears the front desk staff are all attractive young females. Not sure if that was intentional.

From my girlfriend:…read more I rarely write reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience at Carbon Health because it was truly disappointing and upsetting. At the time, I was between health insurance plans and had to pay out of pocket. I went in for what started as a small cut on my nose that turned into a rash after using Neosporin for several days. I had done my research and suspected it was a Neosporin reaction, but when I saw Dr. Aadil Vora, he seemed rushed and did not take my concerns seriously. Instead, he assumed I had MRSA because of my past hospital work and prescribed antibiotics without testing me. He also told me I was contagious, which left me in tears and very anxious, especially since I was scheduled to leave for Hawaii two days later. He reassured me by saying I could go in the ocean because "it would be healing"--which is dangerous advice if someone truly has MRSA. I was never tested, yet he strongly insisted I continue the antibiotics even when my symptoms worsened. My rash grew, became painful and discolored, and I knew something was wrong. I insisted going back to carbon health to get tested, and they finally tested me and I had to pay an additional fee after the out of pocket fee. Once in Hawaii, I went to urgent care where they properly tested me--that day, my results came back and were NEGATIVE for MRSA. The doctor in Hawaii confirmed it looked like a Neosporin rash, prescribed different medication, and within two days my skin was healing. When I updated Dr. Vora, he dismissed her findings and told me I should go to the ER for IV treatment, which made me lose all trust in his judgment. This experience left me not only frustrated but also scared, and it cost me a significant amount of money out of pocket. I will not be returning to Carbon Health, as I did not feel I received safe, evidence-based care or compassion from the provider I saw.
