I understand a deposit but full amount?! I called once I saw the charge and asked them to cancel the appointment within two hours of making it, same day. Then they kept $7 for credit card fees. Stating it clearly states that online. I never saw it any of this when checking out. What a rip off. In times like these taking people's hard earned money is unethical. Will be letting everyone know this place values profit over customer service.

Although cancellation due to illness is understandable, I feel that recovery after a planned surgery requires a little bit of planning. As customers, we are being asked to confirm our appointments 24 hours in advance. I don't think it is fair to give oneself until the morning of to decide whether or not to see clients that day. A 24 hour cancellation notice would have allowed to make alternate plans somewhere else. In addition, I received a text message stating I would be contacted if other spots opened that same day or the following day. Needless to say that no one ever bothered to follow up.

I have been meaning to write this review ever since the 60-minute massage I received from Sonja…read moreback in November 2023. More recently, I completed a 2-hour Deep Dive & Reset session. On both occasions, it took many months of budgeting and saving to be able to come up with the funds to afford the session. Based on the reviews of Freshwater I saw online, I had suspected that it would be worth the financial sacrifice, and my experience on both occasions proved my suspicions to be correct. I won't claim for a second to understand how any of this works, but I can give you (as a prospective client of Sonja's) a sense of what to expect. Sonja's studio is warm and inviting. Even if you are awkward and unsure of what to expect (as I was), you will find that she works to put you at ease right away, offering a glass of water and explaining how things will work. For the Deep Dive & Reset, the bulk of the session is spent in a supine position on a massage table, relaxing with your eyes closed. There isn't any physical touch, but if your experience like mine then you will certainly feel things-- heat, pressure, a sensation of internal movement?, and other things I lack the vocabulary to describe. Sonja encourages you to relax and not think about anything in particular throughout this process. The energy work/ clearing session is then followed by a debrief in which Sonja shares her insights about what she picked up during the session. She then offers some suggestions of ways to clear stuck or negative energy, tailored to you based on what she observed or felt during the session. She advises you to take it easy following the appointment and if your experience is like mine, you'll find it impossible to ignore her advice: I was completely exhausted for the 2-3 days following. And after that, hopefully you will feel a bit lighter. Freer. Things will bother you and stick with you just a bit less. You will feel more hopeful and a little less foggy. And the words of advice that Sonja offered will stick with you, proving prescient in ways that feel both spooky and extraordinary. All of this defies what I know and understand about the human body. I've long relied on holistic treatments such as massage, yoga, and mindfulness, but my preference is for evidence-based treatments: things we know work based on science and research. I'm not aware of any research backing the effectiveness of whatever it is that I experienced in the Deep Dive & Reset session that I completed. And yet, it was so profoundly healing - in ways that are continuing to impact my life and wellbeing for the better - that I've decided I don't need to understand to know that it works (for me, at least). If you decide to try energy work - particularly if you're a newcomer to this healing modality the way I am - then I heartily recommend entrusting Sonja with providing this service. I'm glad that I did, and I am forcing myself to write this vulnerable review in the interest of helping others find their way to receive her services.

I knew that I needed someone who understood the emotional aspects of my shoulder pain, in addition to the physical condition of it. I was also drawn to her intuitive skills described on her website, as I knew that there was inter-generational and epigenetic trauma that needed to be addressed. WOW did Sonja deliver! She not only started the healing process for me after the very first visit, the pain pretty much subsided after just 2-3 sessions. I have been to LOTS of healers, body-workers, intuits, massage therapists, etc. over the last 15 years and she is by far the best. Sonja is truly gifted!! I immediately had my daughter go see her and my son and husband are next! Simply cannot recommend her enough!

After…read moreworking with her weekly for almost two years (whoa, time flew) she would still find new ways and methods of exercise. My regular practice with her was a big contributor to my physical and mental well being during some stressful periods that I was not otherwise taking good care of myself. I did duets with her as well as individual classes, and some of her workshops. Helena is kind, funny, and honest. There aren't many people I can start my day with at 7 AM, but she is one. She pushes you to stretch your limits but also encourages you to listen to your body, and watches your body and listens to you. She invests in her equipment and is constantly taking trainings and lessons with other instructors to improve and bring the best back to her clients. She does trigger point massage, which brings the pain and the results. You know that feeling after you chop off several inches of your hair, and your head feels like and you know you look amazing? MY WHOLE BODY FELT THAT WAY. It's uncomfortable but effective. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Helena, both personally and professionally. I look forward to every session, knowing I will feel stronger and more functionally able. Helena challenges me and, with skill and encouragement, she helps me get stronger, more flexible, more agile, more self-confident in movement. This is very important to me, as a 71-year old, with 2 total knee replacements and a spinal chord injury, who has lots of bad habits from years of obesity and underuse in my relatively recent past. I live in Los Angeles, but am regularly in Cambridge where my new grandson and his parents live. I was blest to work with Helena for 6 weeks straight around when he was born. Now I can't wait to work with Helena whenever I am in town, she is amazing -- and has made a huge difference in my life.

He said he's only there on weekends, so if you need a massage on a Sunday morning, he's your man! The space itself is small, very clean, and professional, which I appreciated right away. It felt personalized in a way that a lot of massages don't. I've had quite a few massages over the years, and this one is definitely at the top of my list. I was a loyal client here for many years and truly valued the professionalism and care I once…read moreexperienced. This place meant a lot to me. Over time, however, it felt like the management style, particularly at the ownership level, shifted. Communication became inconsistent, and situations that once would have been handled directly and professionally were not. This was not reflective of the front desk team. Many of the therapists I connected with moved on. My most recent experience simply was not the right fit. I did not feel fully heard, and the session felt more rushed than mindful. After the session, there was no follow up or check in at all, which has never happened in any of my previous experiences here. I was tired of bouncing around, so I gave it time to see if things might improve. In the end, she agreed it was not the right fit. What was most disappointing was how it was handled. It took several calls, emails, and texts from me to learn that my sessions had been canceled less than 24 hours before my next appointment. The front desk told me the owner was supposed to call me about the cancellations and to suggest an alternative therapist, but that call never happened, and there was no follow up afterward. There was also a brief moment that stood out. I had left more than 20 percent, though less than the week before because the experience felt different. When I shared that, it was suggested that the front desk might not have passed the full amount along. That surprised me, as the front desk team has always been consistently kind, professional, and trustworthy. I want to be clear that the front desk staff are excellent. They make scheduling seamless, communicate thoughtfully, and create a welcoming environment every time you walk in. I am writing this because I cared about this place. I used to genuinely look forward to coming here. Moving on feels like losing something familiar, almost like losing a friend. I would still welcome a one on one conversation with the owner, as I would have appreciated that before. I hope the practice finds its way back to what once made it so special.

However, once I stepped inside the gorgeous studio space I felt reassured that I had made the right decision in coming to see here. The decor is Thai themed with rich red and orange, with copious quantities of natural light from the four windows. Mary was warm and welcoming, getting me some water flavored with a hint of fresh ginger and lime juice as I filled out my intake form. After that, we sat and talked for awhile about how I was feeling, my history with bodywork, etc. I feel like she got a really thorough understanding of where I was at and how to best address my needs. As for the massage, I had never had a Thai massage before, so I didn't know what to expect but I think Mary made a convert out of me! It was totally different than anything I've had before. It started with me laying on my back, on a shiatsu mat on the floor, then Mary proceeded to not only massage me but also place me in a variety of stretches that were both challenging and deeply relaxing. By the end I was in a dream-like state, feeling calm and restored, ready to go back into the world. I never feel rushed, and am always invited to hang out, have some water, and chat until I'm ready to go. She makes sure I get the amount of massage time I came for, sometimes running over. I have since come back for more 90 minute sessions, especially if I know I'm going to have a rough week ahead of me.
