It came loaded: sliced banana fanned around the edge, then blueberries, goji berries, cacao nibs, granola, and a drizzle of honey, all over an açaí, pitaya, and graviola base. It was generous and fresh, and the fruit looked like it had been cut that evening. What sets this place apart is what's missing. The menu says no ice or frozen yogurt fillers, and you can taste it. The bowl is dense and fruit-forward, not a sugary slush. It kept me full for hours. The space is better than it needs to be for a bowl shop. There's an open ceiling, warm pendant lights, a fireplace with a lounge corner, a kids' play area, and high chairs. It's clean and calm, a spot where you could actually sit and eat. I also liked the local touches: posters for the Tualatin cheer squad and Tigard Tigers soccer, both teams they sponsor. You can tell this is a neighborhood business. I love this place so much, I ordered a Nutty Bowl with Strawberries. I'm here pretty often and ambiance is always great! It was pretty busy today, You could tell employees in the back were trying hard to get food out. Beach, Island and Blue Bliss were my first choices, but all were out. So we got the Tropical and Nutty Bowl with Mangosteen. Thank god we requested them without honey, they normally come with honey on top. They were already so super sweet even without the honey! Both the granola and acai had a ton of sugar in them. I was told the only sugar was from the fruit, but that was not true. I have had unsweetened and low sugar granola, this one was neither. I have had pure acai, and it isn't naturally sweet. I would have been OK with sweet granola if the acai wasn't made to be so sweet. But if they add sugar to the acai, then get no sugar granola. Bottom line is they can't both be sweet or it no longer is a healthy meal. I miss the acai bowls at Costco by the Tattooed Chef. I may go back to try the smoothies or the panini's, I am not sure. The girl (I wish I had gotten her name but I had a lot on my mind at the time) was very kind and let each guest know that their order was being worked on. She also took a few in store orders while I was there and any moments she had in between, she would check with the back, seeming to help expo the orders, speeding up our wait times. I choose the Vitality Bowl ($10.99) - ordered ahead of time online, even chose to add some extras. They make several sizes, the medium is more than enough to keep you full of energy all day long. The staff had my order ready when I walked in and were very friendly, wishing me a good day and asking if they could do anything else for me. All tasty stuff. Be aware that the paninis are smaller than the wraps. My kid was disappointed that the tropical bowl didn't actually come with sliced mangos; instead it's mangos blended into the acai berry ice cream-like stuff. The menu should be more clear about that. The restaurant has two outdoor seating tables. The fireplace is still there inside the restaurant, but there is no longer a kids play area. We ordered and she got her order but I never did, after waiting for about 30 minutes she went to ask them where my order was and it had just been sitting on the counter. I got the Dragon Bowl and it was super tasty and very filling. Would definitely get it again. Pro tip: They have samples so ask what they have that day. When we walked in the front door, the store smelled very strongly of some perfumey disinfectant/cleaner. The food was fine. I get that places are short staffed. But the gal that was working the counter last night was just beyond frazzled and seemed super annoyed that she had to be there. I took a friend for a birthday treat.
