I was visiting when the tech came in and asked me if I could take care of the mess that I had gone to get her to clean up. The patients have NO way to call for help other than hollering until someone happens to come in. When I asked about this, they told me "we check on them". I was there for 4 hours, and no one came in. The meals are HORRIBLE. I stayed to enjoy a meal with her, and no one at the table could eat the meal. None of us could even figure out what it was, broccoli with a brown gravy stuff on it.

For three years I cared for my mother as she battled dementia, it was one of the hardest experiences of my life, I struggled to understand her mood swings her refusal to eat, shower, or take medication. I eventually had to accept that I didn't have the skills or knowledge to provide the care she needed, after moving her four times since 2022 I was feeling hopeless until one day in March 2023 I overheard a woman at the grocery store raving about a place of joy she described it as heaven on Earth a place where her father was cared for with love and dedication her words stuck with me and I decided to visit from the moment I walked in I felt something different the owner Chela is incredibly attentive to detail and it's clear that she runs this home with both expertise and a huge heart every time I visit often unannounced I see caregivers who are genuinely happy always smiling and treating the residents with kindness and patience. Most importantly I always see the residents happy. the name says it all this truly is a place of joy, if you're looking for a group home where your loved one will be treated with dignity compassion and expert care this is it. She is well fed, the facility is always clean, the meals are wonderful, and she is as happy as one can be under her circumstances. Her husband, my uncle, visits regularly, and always knows he will find his wife up and dressed, having a meal, or just finishing one, with clean linens on the bed, a comfortable chair where she feels safe, and people around who care for her and make her feel safe. I am grateful for the peace of mind my uncle has knowing the staff care greatly about and for my aunt which allows him some sense of comfort since they cannot be together in their home. Took good care of her really were sincerely interested in her well-being. About a year and a half later she had a terrible stroke and went to the hospital. Parkland said let's bring her home because you have eight brothers and sisters and we'll have a hospital bed and a 24 hour nurse so you guys can visit with your mother. She passed a week later, and everyone in the family got to see her, or get a telephone conference, to say they loved her. We highly recommend Parkland memory care for your consideration.

Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. However even tho we signed up in Feb many clubs have no meeting dates or time. What about the scooter safety information we signed requesting in Feb?? Nothing, no follow up, no information. Travel club Same. There are multiple others. Some activities on the calendar are a mystery. What is a knowledge nest education class?? At least offer a brief explanation of what a knowledge nest education class offers. Activities offered darts in the bistro. The darts had no points. Magnets on them were weak. They fell off the target. We are not children. Please don't offer us sports, games for a child. Someone needs to review activity interest as evidenced by sign up and participation. It looks like there is plenty to do but that is misleading.
