My prior review is a lie. The company owner PAID me to make that review and I am ashamed to have been taken advantage of by her. Allison will charge you a delivery/pick up fee and will not pass that along to the person actually doing the delivery. She charges y'all $20 but only passes along a portion of that. She still owes me for picking up a stroller last week. Also, on her "property management" business, she routinely paid one of her cleaners (me) less than or equal to approximate 25% of the cleaning fee y'all are paying via whatever platform you book through. I'm doing 90% of the cleaning (including scrubbing the toilets and cleaning vomit-laden sheets) and she says she uses the rest of the money to buy things like light bulbs. The cleaning fee is the cleaning fee and the cleaners aren't getting all of it. Think about that before you dump money into her pockets. Steer clear. She is not a decent or honest business person. If you read her responses to the negative reviews, there is always an excuse for why NOTHING is her fault. I expect her to write a response to me and I'll tell her here, you still owe me money, Allison. Pay up. And you know everything I've said here is the truth, INCLUDING how you paid me to write my other review. I wonder how many other reviews you paid for. Stay Away I called to cancel about a month ago after I read up on the reviews and the woman on the phone said she was driving or something and that I should sent an email saying I would be canceling my order. I sent the email but it was my fault for not following up. No delivery time was agreed upon. I then placed an order with BabyQuip users Tori and Chuck(more about them later). This past weekend our canceled order showed up. The crib mattress smelled like smoke, and the bouncer was dirty. Fortunately the BabyQuip order showed up as scheduled. They helped set up the equipment and we signed for the equipment. No such paper trail for Visiting Baby. The Visiting Baby equipment was not used because of its lack of cleanliness and now it is Tuesday morning and the equipment is just now getting picked up. I will be checking my credit card and will file a claim if I am charged for Monday and Tuesday morning. Not sure this company will change its practices but if you're providing rental equipment for infants whose immune system is developing, the lease you could do would be to clean the equipment. I just used Visiting Baby to rent equipment for 4 kids under 4 years old. We rented 4 car seats, a crib, 2 booster seats, a beach cabana, a baby gate, and a box of toys. The entire experience was wonderful. I actually began communication back in Feb, to check into how the process would work, and received a very prompt and informative. We needed car seats for when we arrived at the Tampa airport, but we were hoping to not have to lug all the other equipment from the airport to our house. When we rented baby equipment in Phoenix, we had to accept the whole load at the airport and bring the whole load back to the airport for pick up. Allison explained that they would gladly deliver the seats to the airport and the rest of the equipment to the house and pick up the same way. Finally, in October, we got our act together and figured out what we would need. I emailed a list of what we were looking to rent, and Allison replied in less than 24hrs. She emailed me and invoice, which I paid, and we were good to go. A couple weeks later, I realized that I might need a bed rail, but I wasn't sure if it would work for a king bed. Allison said she would send one with the driver, but not charge me up front, so that I could test it out. If it worked, I could keep it, if not then I could send it back with the driver. It worked, and I was very happy to have it! Finally, it is day of arrival, which is always stressful! We get the car, and we find the lot where we are to meet the driver. He wasn't there, so I emailed Allison, and she immediately replied. He was almost there. This is where I totally forgot that our flight landed nearly 30min early, so in reality, he was not remotely late. He arrived, the car seats were great. We installed and went on our way. He delivered the rest of the items to the house. He carried them all the way in. He took the crib up two fights of stairs, to the room it would stay in, and set it up. The equipment was great. It all worked properly. On the last day, we just moved it all out to the porch, where they could swing by and pick it up. We met the driver in the car rental parking structure, and he took the seats. Whew, sorry for the long review! Long story short, we were very pleased with our whole experience. Equipment was nice, they were very prompt with replying to emails (like sometimes within minutes), and pick up and drop off was painless. Just imagine trying to coordinate schedules with people on vacation, there are bound to be issues, but our experience was great, and I will definitely use this company if we vacation in the area again! read more

I was anxious about air travel with my family - that included two children under the age of three. Faced with the reality of bags, baby carriers, car seats, strollers, and the 17,000 lbs of other "stuff" you need while traveling with children, I really had no idea how the hell we were going to get to Florida without strapping our luggage to our backs like a bunch of pack mules. While we still (likely) looked like a rag tag bunch, Visiting Baby was absolutely clutch to deliver many of our baby and young child necessities to our week-long beach rental so we didn't have to cart them along! I'll just come out and say it - the website is dated. The ordering process was clunky and it was hard to figure out what we ordered for the week while reading through a very long confirmation email that was all in paragraph form. That being said, they totally came through with an on-time order delivery and pickup and provided great items for our week. We rented the following: -Double stroller: Baby trend side by side double stroller that definitely had some wear, but it worked very well for us. -High chair: Very clean and a necessity for our one year old. -Toy box: This was the shining star of our order. Allison (Visiting Baby owner) requested info about what our two girls like, their ages and whatnot. Our toy box was custom "curated" and chock full of books, toys and even dress up items that kept our girls highly entertained. -Music table: Again, very clean, and a hit for our little one. -Play mat: 25 foam squares for a more comfortable play space on top of the tile floor. -Pack n play: In great shape and provided a comfy mattress and fitted sheets. -Bed rails: Self-explanatory, clean and functional. Overall, this service is a godsend for families traveling with young kiddos, and with a handful of technological improvements like an updated ordering system, text options for delivery/time frame, Visiting Baby would be 5 stars in no time. read more

This review was for May 2018. They continually post comments under this review to justify themselves in giving poor service. When someone continually justifies themselves, you know something is up.. Just when I was set to leave a 4 star review, I experienced a very rude conversation with Sean, hence 1 star. Let me preface this by saying being raised in a family run business and being a medical case manager, I understand the art of active listening to the customer and responding with validation of any concerns. In the beginning, I felt as though the service was going to be pretty good. There were some issues with the car seat straps not either tightening well or being able to loosen them. The car seat had too much movement from side to side rear facing, so I used the back strap to fasten under the seat for extra security. I had some back and forth texts with an employee, either Allison or Connie, not sure as they never identified who it was. So I knew it was a number to text associated with the business. Today I text the number in the morning asking when the equipment was going to be picked up. No response. I called business close to 5pm wondering when the equipment was going to be picked up as I did not want to be charged another day. Sean answers the phone. I explained I text the number who I had communicated with. He said that was not a number I should be using. Three times he rudely interrupted me stating that would not be a number I would use, saying it was a private phone number. Obviously, it was an employee number from my experience. He also said I requested the equipment be picked up late in the day, which I never did. Sean in another text referred to me as "rude" for hanging up on him. When someone interrupts and does not stop talking when I am still trying to interject an explanation, I have no choice but to stop the conversation. When speaking with someone like this, it is never productive and goes no where because they are struck on only what they want to say. The equipment is still at my home this evening. Update next day...The equipment has been picked up. The person (Connie) who delivered arrived, not as pleasant as when she dropped off the equipment. I had he take the car seat out since I could not release strap by pressing down on the release. We had trouble from the beginning, but they always responded with "watch a you tube video" or "go to the manufacture website". We finally had the seat secured. Connie could not release the belt, as could I not also. She worked at it for about 15 minutes before going across the street to my neighbors and asking for some scissors!! I had no negative interaction with her, so why go to the neighbors?? She cut the car seat strap to remove the seat. She told me because the toggle latches were not hitched side up (or side down, whatever the case may be) is the reason why the latch would not release on the belt! The toggles have nothing to do with the release latch. The left toggle was hitched down as Connie would call it "correct", which is on the side of the belt release. The left toggle was hitched upright. Regardless, toggles have nothing to do with the belt release. I retracted my referral to a friend who recently asked about Visiting Baby as there are other companies in the area, I'm sure with friendly customer service. This is how my back seat was left! Addendum: They responded that they provided me with a brand new car seat. NOT TRUE! There was a sticker on in for $79.00, which told me they probably brought it at a yard sale or second hand place. A brand new Graco car seat of this model is at least $150 or more. These people love the blame game, never taking responsibility for their own actions, equipment, far from professional. The delivery driver "borrowed" $180 cash from my trusting elderly mother and I had to leave negative reviews to get them to return our calls and my mothers money. Additionally, the toys are disgusting, dirty and broken, literally caked in sand and dirt. I spoke with the woman in charge and she SCREAMED at me over the phone. I will never try to rent anything from them again! I was very disappointed in their service. Beware of them! I rented a crib and box fan for my little one for our Disney trip I had kept in contact via messenger to make sure it was all set up. They assured me they would have no problem and would leave at hotel before we arrived. I messaged them that morning before our plane took off and there was no response until I received a text message from the owner " Hi! I just tried to call I'm sure you're busy :-) the driver tried to deliver the crib this morning and the resort would not except the delivery. Disney has just started to be really strict about not accepting baby items for delivery. Some will do it then someone night and some staff at Pacheco hotels will do it in some want and so I had to reschedule the driver to come back when you would be there to deliver directly to you. Since I didn't want you to be tied to the room as soon as you just got there I scheduled it for around bedtime. But please write me back and let me know when you plan to be at your room so that I can reschedule the driver if I need to around your time window"" Sorry about the voice text. That was supposed to say some hotels will do it and some Disney hotels will not do it and even at the same hotel some staff will do it and some will not" So I texted back and let them know we would be there 5-615 and then at 8 again for bed. He said they would bring at 830...this conversation happed at 228pm At 910 I told him the crib was still not at our room and we had not been contacted. Que a lot of excuses... direct quotes, "I just called the driver to see what happened. He said traffic from an accident or something had him at a stand still but he is finally clear of it and is about 15 min away" At 945 I told him still no crib He texted back "Yes he just called really upset he misread the gps and took the wrong ramp and tried to pull off in the grass to wait for cars to clear but said nobody is letting him in and now being redirected to loop back around" Then I texted we were going to cancel it was 10pm when the crib should have been there at least 2.5 hours before. In my original request it was supposed to be there around 11am. Then the delivery driver called and gave us different excuses he said he had been at the gate for 20-30 minutes and they would not let him come through. Well why didn't he call us the moment he was told he couldn't come through? Or the moment the bell services didn't take the crib in the morning? Or when he took the wrong turn? We began to wonder if they really had a crib and fan coming to us! We asked for a refund and they said "I'm very sorry but we will not be able to refund you. We had to reschedule your delivery three times today due to your resort and your availability. We are not able to guarantee time is because everybody that we're delivering to has changes in their schedule throughout the day as well. Once we have held an item and do not allow someone else to rent it and pay at Contract driver to deliver it and they've made two deliveries to the same person in the same day or expenses are already more than what your order costs in effort to provide you the items you need for your vacation" so it was our fault when they said they could deliver it. I'm not sure where the delivery 3x came from but o well. I said "Understandable. Sean called. Sounded like he had a rough time. We do appreciate his effort. As above, It has gotten too late and the kids are needing to go to sleep. I'm sorry we couldn't find a way to make it work. Thank you for the efficient and timely communication." Bottom line I would rent from someone else. We looked then at kingdom strollers and they were able to leave cribs and strollers at bell services. read more

We rented a high chair and a running stroller from them for a recent week long trip to Clearwater Beach. They made everything easy on us for delivery and pickup and whenever I had a question they were happy to answer. (We had zero interaction with the delivery and pickup people. HORRIBLE!!!!! DO NOT USE. To start, the double stroller, which they claimed was their top item was absolutely filthy. The see through plastic part of the hood was cracked, discolored and held together by duct tape! In addition, their "pick up location" was in an inconvenient storage unit they send you the code for last minute, which I though was weird. Then, upon calling to tell them that my double stroller had a broken wheel, they offered to replace my product with a used item from Facebook market place that they have not seen themeves in person because they didn't have enough inventory to help me. Then told me the "sun is strong in Florida" as the reason for the duct taped hood. Being uncomfortable with some unknown item from Facebook marketplace, I asked for a refund, which she refused. Then completely stopped answering me when I asked her to take her stroller out of my possession. Very unreliable, unprofessional. They took my money and did not provide what they claimed they we're going to. It really caused a stressful start to a family vacation with a 2 year old and 10 month old!!!!! read more

I just used Visiting Baby to rent a crib on 26th December 2019. We had been up 24 hours, travelling with a 2 year old. We arrived to our apartment and no crib. I had been emailing Alison who assured me the cot would be there for our arrival. our son had to sleep in our bed that evening. We opened the door the next day and the crib had been left outside. We contacted Alison to express our dissatisfaction, however, this only got worse. Alison was rude and unhelpful. We had paid for the night the crib was outside, she offered no explanation (other than they were very busy) and no apology. We have advised the apartment where we stayed of this and they will no longer recommend this company. They had also tried to contact the company before we arrived on the 26th December and sent emails and couldn't leave a voicemail as their mail box was full, to find out where the crib was. We visit St Petes on a regular basis, we will definitely not be using this company again. I would rather buy a crib than rent from this company and deal with Alison again. read more

Very disorganized company. After placing an order with this company , payment could not be made online,we did not hear from them for several days. Finally, we received several late night calls from a woman about making a credit card payment. The day of delivery we were called by a man who informed us that we would have to pay in cash or there would not be a delivery. When we informed him that we had already paid with a credit card he became very rude an sent us several long rambling text messages.We ended up buying the items we needed for the same price as the rentals and donating them at the end of our vacation. From our personal experience I would not recommend this company. read more

My family visited St. Pete for a week trip over Easter 2017. We ordered a deluxe crib and travel package from Visiting Baby. All products arrived in great condition. The crib, and 5 inch thick mattress, were suitable for anyone's nursery and ensured us that our 20-month old daughter slept great all week. The high chair was extremely clean and portable; great for indoor and outdoor dining. The toy box provided was FANTASTIC and completely appropriate for our toddler. We packed lots of books for the trip, but this toy box provided hours of fun. I would highly recommend Visiting Baby to people traveling in this area. There is no reason to pack/pay for all of your kid items when you have a company that can provide these items in a very convenient manner. We are already planning to rent from them again in June - returning customers get a discount!! read more

Yea buyer beware. Had a medical issue with the baby - something you can't plan for - doctor restricted the child from any travel. Called with 24 hours to go (yes I know it was less than their required 48 hours) to explain the situation. The gentleman that took my call reminded me of the 48 hour cancellation requirement but he was going to discuss it with the owner and call me back. First of all I never got a call back, second of all they attempted delivery after they were told the baby couldn't travel and we were cancelling the order!! Following notification of the attempted delivery I sent a text message recapping the situation and expressing my huge disappointment in their lack of customer service...got no response to that either so no return telephone call when I called to explain that we had to cancel due to a medical issue, no response to my text message of this past Saturday and no return message to my daughter who placed that actual order and sent them a text as instructed in response to the attempted delivery. Beyond disappointed in the lack of concern, care and attention. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!!! read more
