Again, a staffing issue. Weekends were horribly understaffed. 1 nurse to cover 20 plus patients is way too many, and also assist with meals?!

She said, "you just want resources" when the reason for my visit was to fill out paperwork. I already have all the literature from a previous visit. After I left, I called the receptionist to tell her that just blowing off an appt with a client is not acceptable, specially since they are in the business of caring and dealing with people under a lot of stress. My voice was stressed and I was upset but I wasn't screaming. She said, I can't scream at her or she'll hang up the phone, then before I can respond she hang up the phone. Where's the compassion and the professionalism that one should expect from an institution like this? I can just imagine how they treat patients staying there who have dementia and can't speak for themselves. One would think that they would treat the family decently at least until the patient is in so one if left to wonder how bad they get after that.

Although they call themselves an Alzheimer's Special Care Facility, they are quick to tell families that they must provide and pay for additional help when your loved one needs additional assistance such as eating, bathing, and just general attention. They are quick to send patients to behavioral hospitals when they feel that they are even remotely out of sorts. Any decent Alzheimer's facility would realize that this is part of the disease and that any changes in environment can have devastating and lasting effects on the patient. If you do decide to consider this facility, please spend an afternoon there and observe. They have also had several deaths due to falls of patients who were not properly supervised, respiratory infections and one from sepsis.

For $3750 for which payment portion is less than $200. At this time, I will be going to the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint. I Advised my insurance conpany past november that this company was fraudulent (and also let ICR know that I'd done so which may be why they haven't forwarded additional charges to my ins co.). ICR is disorganized and tries to fill days with so called gym classes and art classes since they don't have enough valid therapists then charge exorbitant fees for these wasted hours ... it's all designed to create full 8 hour days. Almost All patients are given exact same medications no matter what their diagnoses are. It's crazy! PLEASE DO TOURSELVES A FAVOR AND GO ANYWHERE BUT HERE WHETHER ITS FOR MENTAL HEALTH OR SUBSTABCE ABUSE!!!! They deserve zero stars!!!

My sister called Todd the administrator ask what we should do basically was told to roll the dice until she could be evaluated. Todd your tone with my sister was inappropriate you are lucky I couldn't reach through the phone. We picked Harthstone because they were great in the past. The staff have been great except for admin Todd you should be gone!

It smells very bad as you walk in, they no longer keep the entrance and elevator clean, there is old furniture in the seating areas that don't belong. It is a very convenient location and my Mother used to feel very safe here. It would be a hardship to relocate her which we don't want to do, however it might become necessary in the future. They never fail to raise her rent yearly as the care and attention to the building ar deteriorate. Hopefully in the future it will be better.
