One of the best experiences I've had so far regarding customer service and professionalism. A little backstory - I've recently had an eye exam (my eyes were getting too tired, it was blurry, etc.), and while I was told about 4 years ago to get glasses, I never got around to do it. Go figure! Anyway, I got here today on recommendation from a friend, and let me tell you, Meslyn the manager was such a great help - understanding, empathetic and caring at all the steps of the way. She showed me a couple of pairs of glasses that fit my face well, she gave me some recommendations and pointers, and patiently explained how to care for and have glasses last longer (first-time glass wearer, had no idea you're not supposed to wipe them with your shirt haha). Overall, great experience, I would recommend if you're looking for or interested in getting new glasses. And a piece of advice, do not delay getting them! read more

Although they advertise to take "hundreds" of insurance plans, they were unable to take either of my two insurance plans through blue cross- citing an issue with how they process billing. While I understand that this happens (even though it has never happened to me personally) the disruption caused to my schedule on a Friday afternoon could have well been avoided had they bothered to check prior to coming in- particularly since I provided my insurance information in advance of my appointment. At first I ignored it because it was small, but by the week five crack go bigger. So, I went by the store to see what my options were. I was told my only option was to buy new frames, since I didn't have a warrant. My frames were less than a month old. The damaged wasn't due to my negligence. We had two experiences. First one I wasn't completely satisfied. The tech wore a bubble jacket and was disinterested in her job. She gave the commands to to the pre-test was was unfriendly and cold. She didn't wipe anything down and was on her cell phone. The doctors were great. They were nice, friendly and helpful. Second experience was great. I came with my broken frame and asked if the store has a replacement frame. A lady at the front said they don't carry the frame although I had purchased it from the same store two years ago. She grabbed my lenses and started checking and came back and said it might cost you $189.00. I said money is not an issue for me. She came back and said it is not guaranteed it will fit. Worst experience ever. Spent $1100 for one glasses and they sent them back to to the lab TWICE because the lenses were blurry, I could not see and lenses kept falling out of the frame. They Refused to refund and forced me to get another pair with different frame. Same problem, had to send the lenses back to the lab and I was forced to wait Six weeks but when I got the new glasses the prescription is so far off and when you hold the sideways you can see they are clearly crooked so I cannot even wear them. This was by far one of the worst experiences we've had. We walked into the store with the intention of purchasing a new frame. Almost immediately, we were approached by Josh Abrams, who very rudely stated there was a 10 frame limit due to COVID. It was evident that although the store was completely empty, Josh had no interest in helping us. After looking at some frames trying to stay within our 10 frame limit, we approached Zaina H. with some questions. Unfortunately, our experience didn't get any better. Zaina had no interest in answering our questions about the three frames we had selected and would not recommend any additional frames based on our interest. Instead she suggested we take a look at the website because she didn't want to look at the stores inventory. I will be contacting corporate to report this instance as I too work in customer service and understand this is not an acceptable experience for anyone walking in to any business. We had a different family member call the store a couple days later to ask if there was a policy pertaining the number of frames one could try on due to COVID. Josh picked up the phone and stated that there was absolutely no limit. It's definitely disappointing for someone in a Store Market Manager role to be setting such an example for fellow employees and represent the brand in such a way. Josh and Zaina H. clearly treated us differently from the minute we walked in, as they made it clear that we were not welcome at Lens Crafters. It makes me wonder the training the employees receive or lack off, and quite frankly the example they set out for the company's beliefs. The manager was assisting us at one point but disappeared in the middle of our transaction for 40 minutes (bathroom break). The one employee that tried to help us could not because it needed a manager approval on the transaction. I've been going here for about 4 years now. It's easy to schedule an appointment and everyone is very professional. I had a 10:00 appointment this Saturday morning and it went smoothly. I arrived a few minutes late but they were very accommodating. Doctor Stephan was thorough and spoke to me in detail and in layman's terms about the changes to my vision. I ended up walking away with a year worth of contacts and a coupon off the purchase of a pair of glasses. I am in complete agreement, and had nearly the same experience as the previous yelper's rating. The doctor was great. Everything else was just horrid. All of the glasses frames that were available for trying on were seriously gross, smudged, fingerprints, food particles. Yuck. The customer service representative helping me with the billing tried to charge me over $500 for the glasses, despite the fact that my insurance was to cover the bulk of the cost. To make matters worse, she was not able to explain to me what was costing $500. To make matters additionally worse, the computer system kept "crashing" so it took an ungodly amount of time getting my account situated. I became so frustrated that I finally asked them to just give me the script for the glasses from the doctor so that I could take it somewhere else. They REALLY took their time in getting the prescription to me... but they did, and I left. I went to a different store and was able to get the same glasses with the same options, for about $100 total. Visionworks had no idea how to work my insurance, and I'll be d@mmed if I'm paying $400 out of my pocket because Visionworks doesn't know how to train their employees in Insurance. I recently had an eye examine with Dr. Stephan Hanowsky. He is great! I never had such a complete examine with explanation of results! He fitted me for contacts and am very happy with his recommendation. There is also a young woman who assisted me on several occasions and she is very thorough and knowledgeable. I will make it a point of learning her name as she is wonderful and helpful. She has been there for some time as her customer service and professionalism is exemplary as is another young woman at the front desk. The only thing I have to state which is a negative is that the "new hires" need to learn about customer service and coached a bit as they are lacking and will pull the exemplary employees down with their lack of customer service. Step up your game! I arrived one week night to pick up sunglasses that I ordered and there seemed to be confusion as to where the glasses were. It took some time and many questions...one employee asked me if I was picking up contacts after having stated I was picking up sunglasses. When the glasses were delivered to me they were very greasy and smeared. I asked the employee to clean them please and when she returned the lenses were still greasy so I asked her for a cloth and solution in order to clean them properly myself. She offered to re-do....I refused with the point of view that you should have done it properly the 1st time. Not sure if she is new along with a few others that were in a brain fog that night. I am patient and I have worked in retail so I do understand the definition of customer service. You don't want to be the weakest link. read more

On Saturday January 13th, my daughter received her initial contact exam at Visionworks. When I checked in, I was given the standard paperwork consisting of a medical history questionnaire and a form asking if she wanted her eyes dilated. She went through the exam fine however once she was finished, the optometrist stated that she would need to return for an hour long class on contacts. I had no problem with that, as that seems like a reasonable policy for new contact lens wearers. We went to the front to purchase the recommended contacts for myself (I also had an appointment that day) and my daughter. Vanessa (store manager) informed me that I would need to pay approximately 20 dollars for my daughter's contacts since my insurance does not cover toric exams. I paid and we left with an appointment for my daughter to attend the contact lens class on January 16th at 4pm. On January 16th my husband escorted my daughter to her appointment and apparently there is some sort of policy (per Anwar, the store manager) that she has to be able to put the contacts in and remove them three times in a hour, otherwise she is not allowed to have contacts. I called the store and spoke to Anwar to confirm that this is the policy and he agreed. I also asked Anwar what is the policy if someone has not passed their test but has already purchased lenses. His response was, "We are not going to give you her lenses until we are satisfied she can put them in." I understand this, but I PAID for these lenses on Saturday and had I known they were these stipulations or that my daughter's contacts would be held hostage by the Visionworks Staff I would have NEVER bought them. When I asked Anwar to explain why this policy is not posted, he sucked his teeth and told me if I was so unsatisfied with the policy he would "give me my little money back" and I could "find someone else." If I pay my money for an item it is MINE regardless of the store policy because I PAID for it. I work hard for my money, and I do not appreciate the level of disrepect I have experienced at this store. By a quick review of their yelp and other social media pages, this store is in dire need of customer service training and they give a bad name to the Visionworks name. read more

It was also frustrating that after my appointment it took 35min for someone to ring me up so I could leave!!! Plus the associate had problem figuring out how to apply insurance!!! I appreciated that they do a mandatory contacts class to ensure proper care of and handling of contacts. However the times for these classes are unreasonable for people working a typical 9-5 job!!! I recently ordered some progressive lens glasses. Regis helped me and was fabulous. He was so nice and helped me select some frames that suited my face. The glasses came in with the reading portion too low. There were some other employees on duty and I wasn't able to get much help. I went back when Regis was there and he was able to accurately understand the issue I was having with the lens prescription placement. He was very patient and worked to ensure that the proper correction was made. He was terrific! I would go back just so I could have him help me! read more

Dr. Walton makes this place worth it. I'm there because I care most about my vision, not as much about wait times. I've never felt rushed with Dr. Walton, and he's always made me feel like he actually cares about checking everything and doing it right. I've not had a better eye doctor since going to a family friend in the 90s. People are right about erratic wait times, and the staff occasionally not paying the best attention... However, it isn't any different than anywhere else I've been. I'd put up with a little waiting room time ANY day if it means I get an excellent doctor like Dr. Walton. read more

The doctors was great but the receptionist members weren't inviting. Upon arrival I was greeted yes but the girl wasn't even looking at my direction. Very rudely she repeated can I help you? Still not looking at my direction. Wtf how was I suppose to know she was addressing to me. There was no one waiting in line for an appointment. I told them I wanted to be a walk in and the receptionist told me if and when the other appointments show up I was going to be pushed back. Which I accepted. I filled out my paperwork and still no one showed up and did my pre exam. Right when the doctor came out of the exam room then another person came in and they did his pretest early and put his folder in front of mines. Other people showed up and they kept pushing mines behind. Finally when it was 2 people (myself included) the doctor noticed me waiting for a while and he did ask the receptionist who came first and why was I waiting for a while. She stated that he (the other client) was there first before me. Honestly very rude! She could of just told the truth and said yes she has been waiting but he has an appointment prior to her.
