When I first tried to wear contacts I couldn't put them in and he told me I had the worst case of "pokophobia" he'd ever seen. OTOH, when I came to him because I woke up with terribly blurred vision he sent me to an Eye Clinic for a more in-depth examination, and when they could not find the cause he sent me to a retinolologist who found that I had suffered a stroke in my eye. He was able to treat me and although it took some time, today I have almost the same level of vision I had before the stroke. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Schitoskey. If he is subbing for other drs. in his retirement, rest assured, you will be in great hands.

Multiple times I had to correct him that I was not interested in glasses, I wanted contacts. I also received an an incorrect prescription. The prescription gave me a headache, which I told them about. They told me to try it out and it might have just been because I waited long. I still have a headache after multiple attempts of trying the new prescription. They also made numerous clerical mistakes and called me multiple times when I said I would be busy. They called me multiple times to confirm. I returned their call a few hours later, but they continued to call because they made a mistake copying my insurance down which I confirmed with them a week prior. I noticed several other mistakes they copied wrong. I'm not sure if they are even trying. I would go somewhere else.

No, it isn't the cheapest place in town but I need a more thorough eye exam than you get at the cheapest place. And yes, you have to wait for the glasses. I seriously can't say enough good things about my experience at America's Best Eye Care…read more I came in feeling super nervous and honestly a little embarrassed this was my first time ever trying to wear contacts, and I was under a major time crunch to get it figured out. I was struggling pretty badly, but the entire team was incredibly kind and patient with me the whole way through. Veronica, Sierra, Serena, Andrea, and Rebecca were all amazing, but I've gotta give a big shoutout especially to Veronica, Sierra, and Serena. They spent hours with me (literally!) showing me different ways to get the contacts in and out, walking me through everything step by step, and never making me feel rushed or judged. Also, I didn't catch the doctor's name, but I'm beyond grateful to him too -- he helped me take out a contact when I absolutely couldn't do it myself. That moment alone saved me so much stress.
