Just wanted to share my personal experience at -PHILLPS EYE CLINIC I scheduled my first eye appointment and really didn't know what to expect. I was having trouble focusing and knew I needed glasses. After visiting with Dr Phillip's he answered all my questions and he suggested computer glasses was all I needed. I was able to go to the optical section and recieved great customer service. The lady help me select the best type of glasses and was so helpful. I would recommend anyone who is looking for great customer service schedule an appointment. read more

Is a good eye clinic......But, they tried to charge me 50$ because of a "no cancel" on my previous appointment. I called to make the appointment, then called back less then 5 mins later to cancel the apt. 1 month later I tried to make another appointment, and they said I had to pay the 50$ before I was able to book. I can't believe they lost a customer over 50$ that was their fault to begin with.... read more

Needlessly greedy to the point that it harms a child. I've gone to Phillips for years and had very good results with the eye exam portion. I have the ability to get a significant discount on eyewear through my employer directly, but need a copy of my prescription to do so. The prescription has to include a copy of my pupillary distance. Phillips, previously, would charge me a fee ($20-30) for their techs to measure my PD and add it to my prescription. I was o.k. with that. They're performing a service. Today, my daughter just broke her glasses. They were under warranty, and we were told it would take 6-10 days for a replacement to be in. We asked for a copy of her prescription and for them to measure her PD so that we could go to a same-day place and get a cheap pair of glasses to use as backup. They refused. They absolutely refused to measure my daughter's PD because we weren't buying new glasses in their store. We offered to pay for the measurement. They said that under no circumstances would they provide a PD measurement if we weren't purchasing a new pair of glasses at the store. We told them that we HAD purchased glasses there. They still refused. Not only that, but they were very rude and unprofessional about the request, which was an entirely reasonable one. They cited a "new policy." This is rude, greedy, anti-competitive, and needlessly callous towards a child to make her go without functional eyesight for over a week. And Philips lost a family of customers, and everyone that I can tell about this experience. read more

My family has been using Phillips for years. I have always liked the doctors and never had reason to complain until now. When we bought my sons glasses we were told they would be guaranteed for a year. The frames my son choose are Oakley's that the stems snap into. One of the stems snapped off and can not be found. Phillips will not honor their year guarantee supposedly because the piece cannot be found. How does that make sense? Broken is broken. After years of coming to Phillips with my family the first time we have an issue we are told they won't help us. So I'm done. I'll take my business elsewhere and urge others to do the same. read more

Dr. Phillips is compassionate, honest, best of the best! Can't say enough good! He listens to you, and it helps. He takes his time with you. Very knowledgeable. Scheduling appointments is very easy with quick turnarounds. I encountered the nicest and friendliest people. Large nice building, very clean, with a lot of people on staff, so wait times are short. Awesome staff and everyone is very friendly. The optical department was one of the best I have ever seen! They were so detailed, and very informative. Opticians were very professional, they educate, and helped me in finding the right frame for my face. All frames were high end, and prices were very reasonable! Top of the line! Have been going to Phillips for over 15 years. The doc is great but the staff is very rude and unprofessional. Stopped going there for a few years. Tried it out again for this years check up and the same thing happened still. Things were snatched from me, my card was basically thrown at me, just very rude attitude from the staff. I love this clinic! Dr. Phillips and Dr. Wilson are both amazing at their jobs and all around great people. Any time I need help or have a question it is quick to be answered. The girls that work there are wonderful as well. I recommend anyone looking for a new eye doctor to call and schedule an appointment. I was there maybe 10 minutes before I was seen by not only the nurse, but right after I had no wait to see the doctor and she was wonderful. Also, I have never been somewhere where you can leave with contacts the same day...This is the place right here. Excellent service! read more

Dr. Phillips and Dr. Wilson are excellent. Their staff is professional and very helpful. I've had several emergency issues recently and each time they wen above and beyond to get me in. Wait times are minimal. Staff in the eye glass center are great too. Explained the different options available too me. Took time to explain how the transition bifocals work and tips to help me adjust to them. read more

Sweet baby geezus, this place is awesome. I was visiting Midland while home on spring break, and had asked my father to make me an appointment with an eye doctor. I needed an optometrist who would see me for an annual eye exam that also took our insurance, so that I could get refills on my contacts. He said he would, and then totally forgot. Whoops. I figured no biggie, I would go to the walk-in clinic that they have inside the WalMart, pay $98, and take care of the insurance co-pay fun stuff later. I walked into WalMart Vision Center, and they said their optometrist was out for the day! Eek! So my dad calls around on 3/13, and no one can get me in before I leave Midland on 3/14. He finally finds this place that will take me first thing in the morning on 3/14. I'm a little skeptical, but whatever. I need to be able to drive, and my glasses kinda annoy me. I get there 5 minutes before my appt time, 9:25. Receptionist greets me warmly, asks me to fill out some forms, standard stuff. I sit down, fill them out, taking notice of the clean, cozy waiting room with recent issues of magazines. I hate it when waiting rooms have super old magazines. I finish my few pages of paperwork and I turn them back in, and pull out my iPod, prepared to wait for a while since my appt was on such short notice. I don't even get my headphones fully unwrapped before they called me back. I'm liking this already. I go on back and get my eyes dilated by an assistant, who is very pleasant. She didn't say much, but she didn't have to--tone of voice and body language speak volumes. She was happy to be there and in a good mood. After we are finished with the preliminary stuff, she leads me on back to an individual room with the big chair with all the fancy lense-thingies. She tells me the doctor will be with me soon, so I pull out my phone and text a little bit. I wait about 5-7 minutes, doctor comes in. He is also in a good mood, sounds cheery. Asks me how I'm doing, what I'm seeing him for, and we then get down to business. He makes small talk all the while, asking about how I'm doing at Tech, etc. We finish up with all the flippy stuff, and then he takes me to a little room where they have all the contacts and solutions and stuff. He asks if I have any brand preference, and I tell him that my current script is for Acuve, but that I prefer Acuve Oasys. I told him about how my very first optometrist put me on Oasys, and I loved them, and a year ago I had went to some jerk at a Wal-Mart Vision center who put me on standard Acuve. When I requested for Oasys, that optometrist told me that I "didn't need" Oasys and that he would only write me a script for standard Acuve. Upon hearing this, he was absolutely horrified. He said "they're your eyeballs, you're the one who has to wear them all day". I asked if he would "pretty please" let me go back to Oasys, to which he said "certainly." He gave me a "trial" pair, prints off a script, and asks if I have any questions or concerns. I say no, thank him sincerely, and go to the receptionist. I pay my $25 co-pay and on my happy little way back to Dallas to see my boyfriend. $25 co-pay for 25 minutes of cheerful, clean, helpful service. Hoorah! read more
