I reached out to Tom Visionary Home Remodeling to update our Kitchen, Bathroom, Bedroom, Living Room, and electrical panel. There were some miscommunications in the beginning especially with the renderer. However, things improved once the project got underway. The foreman and his crew kept a clean workspace throughout and they finished in a really fast pace. There were delays with some of the materials but that was out of their hands. Without the supply delays they would have finished weeks before the project end date. Overall, we are really happy with the work that they did and we love being in the new space. So far, I had called them about an estimate for a bathroom remodel. I believe I spoke with Tom. I appreciate him asking me my budget, style, and focus. I called a few others and was being sold things I didn't care for. My wife and I haven't done a remodel, but with the estimate discussed, and answering my questions in to detail with Tom, he made me feel comfortable with his expertise. Waste of time. After I showed Aidan around my home for an hour, he started a sales pitch about why I don't have time to shop around for other businesses. The reason became apparent as their prices - at least for one aspect of my project, exterior painting - are a ludicrous 3X higher than multiple other quotes I've since received (to be fair they offered a longer warranty, and another company gave a similar quote). Nevertheless I've been asking them to give me a quote, "Tom" has repeatedly promised and failed to send me one, after more than a month so far. There also seems to be some odd activity with their account on "Houzz.com", which seems to be trying to be the yelp-stagram of home remodeling but where a suspicious number of reviews seem to be posted by employees of Houzz, and suspicious proportion of businesses have a perfect 5/5 rating. Aidan spent precious minutes during his sales pitch in my home pestering me to look at Houzz.com and their account on Houzz.com and their projects on Houzz.com and Houzz.com Houzz.com Houzz.com! The relationship seems a little suspect to me. But maybe it's legitimate and Houzz.com employees really did all use this one remodeling company, and Aidan just really likes Houzz.com, and everyone but me really has had a good experience with them. read more

They offered the best price, and can start our project right away. I had a very good experience working with Ellie. Communication was smooth. Someone that worked for Visionary Home Remodeling talked to me about the company and how they arranged everything to be done, and because I had several projects to be done in the same house, I used them. We did the roof, the siding, the windows, and some of the doors. The reps were very knowledgeable and they had a very nice presentation and all of these audio-visual that we were able to look at and have an idea of how things were going to turn around and how they're gonna be looking. The installation team was also very professional. They cleaned the place and when they said that they were going to start, they started. The quality of the work done was good and I like it. The siding ended up to be done well too. The first time that we did the siding, there was some area that was not covered properly. This time, everything was covered. After I posted the review below, Tom reached out to me and resolved 2 of the issues. He has promised to work with me to resolve any remaining issues. We hired Visionary Home Remodeling to do a small bathroom remodel. We had a number of issues throughout the project. The highlights of what went wrong on this project: 1. Electrical fire hazard: Tom said that in order to be up to code, the bathroom had to be on its own circuit. We didn't have any extra circuits so we had to install a new electrical panel for an additional cost of $2,000. After the panel was installed we started having problems - the air conditioner wouldn't turn on, the car charger, television, and other electrical items quit working. We called an electrician who as soon as he looked at the panel, said it wasn't phased right and was a fire hazard, so he had to rewire the panel. And the bathroom was not on its own circuit! It is on the same circuit as the bedroom and other bathroom outlets. UPDATE - Tom will send a licensed electrician to bring the wiring up to code. He has already reimbursed me for the cost of replacing the car charger and television, and for the electrician to rewire the panel. 2. Shower: They installed brand new pipes and shower head. A couple weeks after the project was finished the shower started leaking. We called a plumber who said we had to replace the valve. When he took out the valve he found a rock in it. UPDATE - Tom has reimbursed me for the cost to fix the shower. 3. Code violations: In addition to the electrical problem, after telling me that we had to replace the 1.6 gpf toilet with a 1.28 to be up to code, the new toilet that Tom ordered to replace it was 1.6. The final inspection failed and I had to order the right toilet. 3. Poor workmanship overall. A few weeks after the project the cover on one of the new ceiling lights fell off. UPDATE - Tom came over and fixed the light. 4: Schedule: Tom estimated 2-3 weeks. Actual time was about 10 weeks. read more

They were easy to see eye to eye with, understanding the goals my family and I had envisioned for our space. The person who I talked to was so helpful and very educated on what was going to be needed and how long it was going to take, I made a appointment to get everything done and was really happy they had a opening for that Thursday. This the best company by far! I first knew about visionary home remodeling through a friend. They had done my friend's kitchen and their prices were not bad. When I called, they gave me a reasonable estimate and started working on my home almost immediately. They were very attentive and polite. If there was any concerns or any issues, questions I had, they were quick to calm my nerves and inform me what was going on. Every question I had they answered it. Not once did I have an issue with the staff. They also gave me an estimate about when the job would be done and they were also finished around that time. We do not recommend hiring Visionary Home Remodeling. We also suspect many of their reviews on Yelp, Google, Houzz, etc. are fake. We hired them for a large project: a full home renovation with a small addition. We encountered many issues, incompetence, poor quality of work, unnecessary delays, substandard project management, and terrible communication. Eventually, we had to terminate their services and hire subcontractors to finish the job. And we are still, several months later, dealing with issues stemming from improperly installed drywall, plumbing, electrical, and framing. To Tom's credit, he did not give up on the project and continued to fix the issues that came up, though oftentimes we had to argue and pull in experts in related fields to substantiate our view. In the long run it was little comfort. TIMELINE After contracting with Visionary Home Remodeling, we were given an estimated timeline of 4 months. Therefore, we moved out of our home in October 2017. We were scheduled to return on March 1, 2018 (padding the timeline with another month). The lease ran out, and luckily we were able to extend through April 1st (now, over 5 months had passed). Tom assured us over and over again that we'd be ready to move in by April 1. When we moved in, there was no kitchen, partial electrical (only in two bedrooms/bathrooms), and almost no finish work completed. We had to move into a hotel for a few weeks (Visionary reimbursed us). We then took a week vacation, and upon returning home, the house was still not suitable to live in. What we were assured would take weeks took an ADDITIONAL four months because the project managers assigned were not there to ensure the work continued. Which brings us to... QUALITY OF WORK Visionary and their workers do not seem to have the experience as others in the field; we would often see people using YouTube or Google to figure out how to do projects. For example, our home needed to be painted multiple times because they did things in the wrong order and didn't allow underlying wood or drywall to acclimate and dry. It was clear that the crew (and foreman) hired to do the job were not equipped with the knowledge or skills to do the job effectively, their workmanship was poor and, in the end, cost both us and Visionary money to fix all of the mistakes. Tom, himself, did not understand many of the fundamentals of home building, often having to consult with his subcontractors on somewhat rudimentary topics (how to install floors, plumbing installations, etc.). Eventually, the foreman walked off the job, and was replaced by Tom's cousin, who seemed marginally more knowledgeable, and was a better communicator. Finally, we decided to take things into our own hands and created a punch-list of 253 items, organized by the type of subcontractor needed (plumber, electrician, etc) and the room in which it was needed to be done. We thought this is normally the role of the General Contractor! At that point, Tom would only send a single person randomly two or three times a week to complete those, and we overheard one conversation he had in which the person hired was explaining his former experience - it made us realize he was just hired on the spot without background checks. Therefore, we removed Visionary and their subcontractors from our home on August 16th and hired subcontractors to complete the checklist. Tom assured us he would be very hands on with our project. In the beginning, he was onsite a few times a week. We kept insisting Tom spend more time onsite to oversee the project, but he spent on average no more than an hour at our home per week. When we complained about issues he would simply say "but we passed inspection, so we're done." Passing inspection, in my mind, is delivering a minimally viable safe home to live in, not following our specifications in our plans for our remodel. There's a huge difference. In summary, we had several of our subcontractors (who were amazing!) comment about how poorly this project was managed and how poor the quality of work was. We suspect Tom tried to scale his business too fast by hiring subpar employees, thus resulting in both poor project management, and subpar workers that were not vetted well prior to be assigned to our project. Issues: Note: Due to yelp word limit, cannot give full accounting here of all of our issues. Suffice to say they were extensive, major, and we're still dealing with them. They included: - Painting, Floors, Electrical (*major*), Plumbing, Drywall, Finish Carpentry, Door installations, and much more. My husband and i just got a new house, but the interior was awful, especially our two bathrooms which were very old and mold everywhere. We called many companies, and we decided to use visionary home. This guy, i don't remember his name came the next day to look our bathrooms. After that, they estimated everything with us. They were very professional. We didn't know a lot of the things. They explained every single detail with us. They are polite workers. We couldn't be more satisfied with the work they have done. Our bathrooms now are super clean and now. Thanks to visionary home. We are so happy to use these. Although it is a small business, they have outstanding services. Our home remodeling experience with Visionary Home remodeling was an absolute nightmare!! We were completely fooled into hiring them, believing that they were professional and experienced. Management, namely Tal and Isaac, are completely unprincipled and deceivers. There was no one to supervise the work being done by the lethargic foreman and his workers who all maintained an uncompromising 8 hour schedule with breaks in between. My husband had to be onsite to direct the foreman and give him instructions everyday. When we insisted on a date in the contract, we were told "it doesn't work like that, these are workers." Even after multiple reiterations that we needed to move in on a certain date, work pace did not pick up and the project went past schedule. False promises were constantly made that they would complete the work before our oral deadline. Gave us untruths about several things such as the dates when permits were applied for, materials were ordered etc which caused significant delays in the project. We learned about the true facts when we personally called the material supplier and the county office for the permits. Deadline was continuously extended and project incomplete. Finally we are terribly frustrated and have decided to move in and get the work completed by someone more competent. Stay away from these unscrupulous contractors!!!! read more

Me and my partner have recently been in the lookout for some remodeling for two of the bathrooms in our home. They are outdated in comparison to our home and can definitely use some sprucing up and much needed tender love and care.We have looked into many different remodeling companies within the area to find the best deal on the bathrooms. Also, a good company that we believe can bring our vision into reality. When we first called visionary we had a really good experience!first off, Visionary was very quick to respond to our calls. When Ellie arrived at our house, we have already talked to three remodeling firms about demolishing 2 of our 3 fireplaces, but none can meet our timeline and budget requirement. Ellie pulled us out of our desperation and promised to finish the work in a couple of days, with a reasonable quote. We thought it was too good to be real, but accepted anyway. It turns out that Ellie's team only needs one day. When I got off work and went to the house, the fireplaces are just, gone, like they've never existed.
