1. While they mentioned they would use my art for staging, one piece was removed and mishandled without my consent. The key piece removed is a fine art piece that cost me over $10k and has only been handled by fine art movers. The hand painted art piece was placed on the ground in my dirty garage on its side without any protection. It would probably be best if you check with homeowners first before moving art in case it is valuable. 2. Many price tags from Ikea, Ross, tj maxx etc were left on the items and were at times visible. While I love a good homegoods bargain myself, I think this cheapens the look of the staging service and is tacky. I didn't notice it initially since we were not living at the house. Seems like a very basic service to remove price tags, especially given the high price of your services. 3. Decor pieces were left on top of our toilets where the flush button sits. This left one of our toilets running for days without us noticing since we were not living at the home. Care should be taken in situations like this. 4. destaging was a disaster - so many pieces were left behind making it difficult for the movers to know which pieces were mine and which weren't. also, while they promised to patch holes, it was either not done or done poorly even after a return visit. 5. owner was hard to get a hold of, and did not respond to my feedback that i sent her directly. On the positive side, while the decor was not my particular taste, I did think it looked well put together and seemed to have been received well. I strongly warn against working with this company. I had signed a contract to have my home staged from 5/1 - 9/7, but the company destaged my house without my knowledge nor permission on 7/1. They refuse to refund me for doing an incomplete job. Vivian, the owner, has refused to take responsibility and stopped responding to my emails. Vivian and her team are the best! We had very high expectations when in came to staging the house that we wanted to sell. We were fortunate to meet One Two Six Design. These guys definitely exceeded our expectations in terms of design, professionalism and customer service. At the initial meeting, the designer made some great suggestions on the look and theme that would bring out the best features of the house. They took into account our wishes to highlight certain parts of the house and assured us that they could make changes after the initial staging if we were not completely satisfied with the design. As it turned out, we were wow'ed by what they delivered. They brought just the right furniture pieces, and the color palette fit the house perfectly. The effect was a contemporary and classy look that was very inviting. Our open house went extremely well, and we got a great offer on the very first day of the open house - probably in part thanks to the staging that helped to influence the buyers' feeling about the house. I used One Two Six to stage a condo I was selling and I do believe it helped sell my home because I believe many buyers do not have an imagination to visualize a home's potential with no furniture. I think they did a good job staging, they knew their business, however, a few issues as follows: -- A bit unorganized, original person could not make appointment and sent someone else last minute that wasn't prepared. -- I was told I would be advised of the design before but I wasn't, it wasn't what I expected but it looked nice. -- They also notified me prior that I had not paid and they would not stage without payment, however, I had paid right away and they had already cashed my check, they identified the error. -- The furniture used in staging while visually appealing had loose chair legs and the couch leg was broken which I advised them same day they staged and they did offer to fix. People touring a home often sit and a few times I checked on the home to find the leg collapsed, kind of dangerous and this shouldn't happen. -- The movers did not clean up after staging nor did they clean after removing the furniture. They did fill in most of the holes in the walls from pictures, which I appreciated, however, scraped some areas of walls and left pencil marks on the newly painted walls. Holes I expected but scrapes and pencil marks I did not. I would recommend but suggest being there when they stage and when they tear down to ensure furniture is in good condition when it arrives and is clean when they leave. They did apologize at one point and sent me a coffee gift card, however, that didn't really make up for the time it took out of my days to have to clean up and reset the couch leg on several occasions that was loose after potential buyers visited. I hired OneTwoSix Design to stage my house in Mountain View last summer. They did a good job until the day they removed the stage. It was a mixed stage, so they took away 7 of my cushions by mistake, and one of them used my bathroom without flushing... It took them a month to return only 5 of the cushions with an email saying sorry that the other two could not be found.... I found the two cushions by accident on one of their displays for another house on my realtor's website the other day. When I told them, they replied that they have a large inventory going in and out everyday. I hope they are keeping a better record of their inventory as I am still waiting for my cushions to be returned. read more

Not sure what Kyla is talking about since they do NOT open their warehouse to their clients. There is no need to visit their warehouse since they are so professional and bring several possibilities and combinations to each of the homes they stage. That way, we can pick the combinations on-site! Convenience for us and them - a win-win situation! OneTwoSix Design was recommended by our realtor and what a difference they made for our recent home sale! We were selling our parents home which was built in 1959. We were really concerned about competing against more contemporary houses and those with major upgrades. We had heard many discussions about home "staging" and just weren't sure about its value. We had a limited budget on making upgrades and debated on whether our dollars were better spent on making upgrades rather than the staging. LOVE LOVE LOVE these guys. The designers are fantastic. The team who sets up and takes it down does an absolutely fantastic job. They are so respectful of my clients home and leave it way better than they find it. They patch walls when I ask and go way above and beyond. It is far the best bang for the buck in getting a home ready for sale. Nothing else equals staging. Not paint, landscape etc. It all matters, but staging is #1. My clients love the way their homes look after they are completed. Many want to move back in. Yeah... that doesn't work so well. So as a Realtor I have to tell them after OneTwoSix comes in to stage you can not keep your house. We are selling it. But I will find you one that looks as good or better when we are done. Had to find a staging company in quite short notice, called One Two Six and Stephanie was very helpful and the quote was quite reasonable. We tried to accommodate the consultant's schedule when they said the owner was going to be out of town and had to change dates. Hence I was expecting the consultation to be with the owner but it turned out to be some other designers. When the sellers wanted some items of the staging changed, they said they would prefer not. This is quite ridiculous as it is stated clearly on the contract that up to 3 items could be changed. Had to postpone the appointment with photographer and open house dates due to the delay with switching furniture. The designer was obviously not professional enough: how can you go to a consultation without even bringing any photos or album to show the clients? This is probably the reason why the design didn't click with my clients and lead to all the changes and hassle. read more

Our Realtor strongly endorsed One Two Six Design to do the staging for our home about to be listed for sale.The owner, Vivian, spent barely 20 minutes at our home on two quick visits. Vivian asked no questions, wrote no notes and took not a single photo of our home. One week later her team arrived. No sign of Vivian. Her team proceeded to distribute a motley assortment of mismatched furniture and cheap looking accessories. It looked to us as if they had grabbed 5 beds, 3 sofas and some tables almost at random from their warehouse along with a most unappealing set of art prints and cheap looking bowls, vases etc. The careless staging - with no thought given to the space or to colors - actually made our home look unattractive. We were stunned when we saw the result. Sad to say it truly looked horrible. We still have the photos of this 'Design Not.' Our Realtor was embarrassed and also upset at the result. Not one word of apology to us from Vivian or anyone at One Two Six Design or offer to come back and redo the staging. We had no choice but to hire another stager and delay putting our home on the market. In asking around we learned too late for us that One Two Six Design has a mixed track record. On some projects Vivian and her team execute very well but on others they mismanage the process with disastrous results for the client.
