Vision express optician here at Chelmsford told me I had a prescription and needed to wear glasses all the time. As I had not had an eye test for a very long time I assumed this to be correct. So I bought a couple of pairs of glasses (as they recommended two pairs) and persevered for about four weeks, but all they did was give me headaches and terrible pain in my eyes. So I popped into an independent optician as someone recommended me to, and although I did have a very small prescription, I was told I did not need to wear glasses and to come back in 2 years! So to make sure I went to specsavers also and they said the same, no glasses needed and come back in 2 years! So back to vision express where I was told I MUST have another test, so I booked this, but when I went back I did not want to waste another lunch hour, so I complained and after arguing with the optician and the manager for the best part of an hour they finally agreed to give my money back! They tried to fob me off, saying I would have been told that glasses would sharpen my eyesight and were recommended, but that was simply not the case, both the optician and the shop clerk who served me said that I needed to wear glasses all the time! Moral of the story if it's your first time getting glasses get a second opinion! read more
