Sometimes it's not just the framing! The word "Gallery"…read moredescribes a place for exhibiting and selling art but really it's so much more. For me it's the experience - the time spent looking, studying, and simply browsing a collection is worth gold to me. Chemers Gallery in Tustin is that place that offers that whole experience. Every time I go in there, which I admit isn't near often enough but probably more than some, I delight in "finds". I have a fairly decent collection of artwork and it's not confined to paintings. I've ceramics, sculptures, glasswork, pottery, photographs, and a few weird pieces of found object works as well. Quite a few of those pieces have come from this jewel of a gallery so close to home. The owner Karen, and her friendly staff have always allowed me the luxury to simply roam. I have to walk through numerous times to take everything in. I get distracted by one or two pieces and then turn around and find something else completely unexpected. And, it becomes mine. I love this place!! I am a retired healthcare designer and Chemers was the art consultant on a few of our firms healthcare projects. What I enjoyed was the chosen works were always different from the predictable works too often seen in healthcare spaces and, they always complimented the concepts of our interiors. I also love the shows and exhibitions they often host here. Often soliciting works from local artists, craftspeople, and even foodies, these "pop-up" shows are always good for gifts, wearables, and sometimes taste-ables! And if I'm lucky, I often walk away with a new piece! I always look forward to stopping in on these shows and could spend an hour or more perusing. Do yourself a favor and visit this gallery - oh, and of course, don't forget, they also do excellent framing!!

There are 3 parking options: Tower Plaza Parking Structure (602 Anton Boulevard), Irvine Parking…read more(3201 Avenue of the Arts), and The MET Parking (535 Anton Boulevard). I chose the Tower Plaza Parking Structure (near the Westin Hotel), which was just a short walk to the museum, while the other options are a bit farther. Parking is paid, about $6 per hour. Once you arrive, check-in is quick and no reservation is needed. Admission is free, and they provide a sticker that you'll need to wear throughout your visit. The museum is two floors, featuring a variety of sections and artists. The architecture itself is beautiful and perfect for photos, and the artwork is unique and enjoyable to explore. Overall, it's a great experience, especially since it's free. Tip(s): - Park at Tower Plaza Parking Structure (near Westin Hotel) and just walk to the museum - Free entry - Restrooms available - No appointments needed

We drove all the way from Los Angeles to visit, and while the building itself is architecturally…read morebeautiful, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The museum has very limited content. There are very few artworks on display, and much of the space feels empty. It was surprising to see a large number of staff but very few visitors, which created an odd atmosphere. What made the experience worse was the lack of clear guidance combined with overly intrusive staff behavior. In the children's drawing area, there were no visible instructions about how the space should be used. Our child was simply drawing on paper at a table provided for that purpose. Within just a few minutes, staff approached us three separate times to tell us that drawing must be done using a board and not on the table. For young children, especially in a space that appears designed for them, this kind of repeated correction--without any posted instructions--felt unnecessary and unwelcoming. Instead of supporting families, it felt like we were being monitored and interrupted. As a nonprofit institution, one would expect a more thoughtful, visitor-friendly experience. Unfortunately, the combination of minimal exhibits, unclear organization, and unfriendly interactions made this visit not worth the trip. We will not be returning. By the way, parking is $8 per hour and requires a three-minute walk from the parking structure to the building.

Probably would have rated this a lot higher if he wasn't terrible since the art looks so nice, but I imagine if they make a mistake on the order or it gets damaged in transit, you're on your own. Not to mention the frame he tried to sell me was dirty, obviously bent, and looked like it was from Michael's

Good things take time. Great things take even longer…read more I can state, unequivocally, that the most crowded booth at the January 2018 Salt Lake Home Show wasn't a local landscaper, kitchen builder, or home designer. It was a Handmade Silk Embroidery Art gallery out of Tustin, California. I haven't seen lines like that since Communist Russia in the 80s. Their process includes a zillion steps, including stitching the most intricate parts of the pattern with silk threads and needles. It takes TIME, but the end results are quite stunning. The depth of feel that their embroidery gives will leap out at you. It is also VERY intricate; you and your future houseguests will probably spend hours gawking at the details. The best stuff isn't cheap, but the smaller pieces I saw go for a more reasonable $50-$100. So I imagine you can see them at a home show near you. Warning: You may have to take a number to get in. ;)

I did not recognize the name Chuck Jones automatically so I walked in as the doors were propped open in welcome and started to browse. I instantly saw a lot of Marvin the Martian, Bugs Bunny stuff and was wondering why they were carrying so much of that theme. The fella working inside greeted me behind the desk and told me a bit about the gallery - that it is owned by the estate/family of Chuck Jones and it has been open and owned there for many years. That he is the artist behind those drawings and many others and they feature several other artists inside the gallery. They have some moderately priced pieces around the front and middle of the gallery and at the back they have a more rare collection of pieces, some of which were upwards of $50k by Chuck Jones himself and other celebrated artists. A neat feature was a Chuck Jones sketch of Wylie Coyote on the back door in marker - with a photo of him doing it live at an event to demonstrate his talent/technique.

He is a huge fan! Reading the reviews ahead of time, we knew that there would be no photography inside and that it may be just a quick look since we obviously were not there to purchase artwork (much of which is in the low thousands). When we arrived my son told of his admiration of Chuck Jones and we assured the gentleman that we knew about no photography being allowed. He was really nice to us and we were able to explore the whole gallery. I did get their card so we have the option to purchase later. They do have smaller prints that seem to start around $100. The artwork included some prints by other artists, too. Namely Charles Schultz, Dr. Seuss, and Fabio Napoleoni. This gallery is definitely a place for cartoon art fans to visit. If I could afford it, we would most definitely purchase from here, as well. They also can ship your art home for you. Definitely check it out, but be respectful about the gallery not allowing pictures being taken inside. There are also copyright issues to consider. Many museums these days don't allow it either, so it isn't any different. We just took a few pictures outside afterwards standing in front of the sign above the gallery door to commemorate our experience. We would both love to return some day.
