My wife and I recently moved back from London. Over the last three years we had visited many cities and captured some great photographs. There was one that was more special to us which we felt deserved a unique frame for our dinning room. I met Joseph, who is the owner and provides all the consulting from a massive selection of frames and designs in his store (note: he only provides the framing not the prints). The outcome was a beautiful three piece modern frame - each price measuring 24 inches wide by 51 inches high. All the work was handcrafted in the back of his shop. Each photo was trimmed for alignment, mounted, and framed to perfection. I was very pleased with the consultation, craftsmanship, and overall service. Be sure to ask for Joseph when you visit. He has over 40 years experience and can help with your next custom frame. read more

I have received the benefit of the exquisite taste and guidance from the owner of Leyla's for framing many paintings for many years. Today, once again, he turned a lovely painting in to a 'museum quality' work of art. This is indeed a 'happy place'. Linda C. read more

This is the place to get all of your special pieces framed!!! There are so many great things to say about this business. I start with their patience with helping pick out frames for my historical docs and family emblem we had done in Scotland. The owner, Joseph, knew exactly what the framing should be and walked me through the process. They turned out very beautiful. They are better priced than any other place I have researched. They value their customers and want them to return so the don't gouge like many others would. And I must highlight their kindness. This is a family owned business. Joseph and his daughter, Evelyn, run the place. They're extremely kind people. I hope to do more with them in the future. I'll definitely recommend them. read more

Amazing place. They do great work, have great prices, and the owner is the sweetest gentleman ever.

What a gem in CDM. This place did such a great job with my pictures I got framed. Looks so professional, and the people here are so nice. They can pretty much do anything and I am planning on bringing all of my photos here to get framed. Excellent service and quality! read more

Joseph provided us with exceptional service and a superior knowledge of how to frame a family treasure, a silver and turquoise squash blossom necklace. See the posted picture. Joseph recommended several background mats and frames which made the piece 'pop' and did not detract from it's unique beauty. He hand-stitched the necklace onto the background. All of the stitching is completely invisible. We decided on museum grade glass in order to minimize any glare. The result was better than we imagined. The price of his consultation, the framing materials and labor to build this piece of art, was worth every penny and very reasonable. We appreciate Joseph's talent and highly recommend him. Leyla's is conveniently located on Pacific Coast Highway and open on Saturdays. read more

I brought a small painting in to Leyla's Frame & Design shop and asked if I could have it framed. Joseph, the shop owner, said, "Of course." He then proceeded to measure the artwork and showed me some frame and matting samples. The painting quickly came alive with the selections Joseph and I had decided upon. He told me how much the framing would cost and I was surprised at how reasonable the price was. I left the painting with Joseph and he called me in a couple of days for me to pick up the framed art - sooner than his original estimated time! read more

I walked by Leyla's Frame & Design many times on my way to a neighborhood brunch spot. Wistfully looking through the windows I always imagined the shop would be out of my reach -- the space inside looked forebodingly upscale. Last week I urgently needed to frame a piece of mine for a private collector. I put my preconceived notions aside and just walked in. I was helped by the gentleman that owns the place. During the entire process he proved to be the most knowledgable framing expert with a great selection of moldings and mats. His taste is impeccable, and did I mention he is fabulously pleasant? Despite my assumptions about the price being too high it turned out to be very reasonable. I love the final result - the quality of framing, the design and how much it enhances my work. I can't wait to show the collector his painting and to have more pieces framed with Leyla's Frame & Design. read more

The best experience! My husband and I spent an afternoon with Joseph designing some pieces we have been waiting to frame. One piece was from our honeymoon from an artist we discovered in Buenos Aires! It is so valuable to us. Joseph knew just how to frame it and he is so meticulous. All materials are archival which I am a total believer in! My husband has an original Joe Dimaggie autographed print that was damaged due to non archvial materials being used. Don't go to any ol frame place on the cheap. if you value what you're framing go to a good place like Leyla's! Worth every penny!!! read more

I cannot recommend Leyla's Frame & Design highly enough. I am a professional photographer, so I frequently have my work framed. I also like to frame art and prints for my home and for family and friends. I look for three things in a business like this: craftsmanship (is the work well done?), quality of the products, and professionalism of the business owner. The work is impeccable. The owner himself is the framer, and you can tell he puts both his head--and hear--into his work. For my products, he has used wood and metal frames, specialized fabric mats, and archival shadow-boxing. I recently had an heirloom baby dress framed and he hand-stitched the dress to the fabric backing so that someday it could be safely removed (versus metal stapling or pinning, which could rust or rip the garment). Both the owner and his wife are absolute pleasures to work with. Most important to me, they respect my opinion but also offer thoughtful suggestions for frames or mats. I often have opinions about how I would like my photograph to look, and they always listen to me and don't try to talk over me at all. Furthermore, both are very kind and good people. The final framed pieces are gorgeous and made to last. I have been using Leyla's Frame & Design exclusively for about a year and will continue to do so for as long as they are around. read more
