I try to shop at smaller stores but my recent experience at ace was such a disappointment. I needed to have some long corner pieces cut for a school project. I am a teacher. Even though I went first thing in the am when workers were literally standing around talking I was told it would cost $1 per cut. Way beyond my budget. I drove down the road to Lowe's and they cut the same wood for free. They were pleasant and no questions. Too bad but I won't be back to this store. read more

I tried to return a wrong sized T duct that I had bought there a few days earlier. They refused to let me return it. I talked to 3 different people including a supervisor. I was told they did not carry this part . It would not scan. It WAS however on my receipt but improperly named as a plastic part. I am absolutely positive I bought the part there. I believe the original purchase was made by the cashier that when she could not scan the part she entered in as anything similar which was a plastic T. read more

This ACE is HUGE! Most recently stopped by to purchase a gas can. After we signed up for their rewards card they have been sending us coupons. This time we saved $5. Sweet! Staff is always helpful. Store is always clean and organized. They have a large outdoor garden area as well. Huge parking lot. They do lock the east doors at certain times of evening so pay attention before your park or you will have to walk to the other doors. read more

Love Hardware EXCEPT for this...I go to their in store Post Office to send a few pkgs. I ask to have them taped and I'm told that I have to purchase my own clear tape because the post office has a non-compete with Ace and cannot supply the 4 pieces of tape I need. So I had to buy a $6 roll of clear pkging tape to mail my stuff. Really, I mean really. These are the kind of stupid things that stress us out. read more

I been going to ace hardware in Dunedin on main street for years and was always very happy with the service and loved how they always new how to help me get the job done. But when I got back this year meaning when I came south for the winter. The store is not the same not only is their not the friendly people they have no clue how to help me. It looks like they would like to help but don't know how. I am very sad I used to look forward to going their all the time for my hardware my need's. read more

Ace Hardware gave great service when I needed help getting my chainsaw fixed. They gave me an inexpensive part and recommended that I clean the carburetor. I installed the part, cleaned the carburetor and the chainsaw started right up. Thanks Ace Hardware! read more

This is a great hardware store. The kind of place that makes you regret that the big box home improvement stores have caused so many of these places to close. They have every item you would want in a hardware store. The store is nice inside and easy to navigate. The staff is very helpful with anything you need. read more

This place is terrible. Bought several trees and they all died within A month. Only the ones I bought here.. The lowes down the street was just fine, those trees are doing well. Whoever runs their garden area should be fired, it's mess. Everything is higher priced than lowes. read more

Ace is the helpful place! I love this store the staff is great. Who doesn't love free popcorn while shopping. Whenever I have a question about anything in the store there is somebody there to help. This is one of my favorite places to shop... seriously. The employees are always so friendly and helpful. We have compared prices to Lowes and HD on various items and Ace usually has the better price. Pick up the coupon book they always have great everyday things on sale. You can bring your dog into the store, if they are in a shopping cart and free popcorn! read more

Vision Ace Hardware is my first and only stop for anything related to home repair and gardening. Tony in gardening is super knowledgable about so many issues, and has saved me hours of internet research on "how to". I have found all of their staff to be helpful and knowledgeable. They have ordered hard to find plants for me in the past. I am surprised to read other reviews that say they are "pricey", because I find them to be competitive with the big-box stores and less expensive on plants. I would not shop anywhere else. read more

I moved to Dunedin after 35 years designing and implementing high-end projects for extremely particular clients in New England and all over the country and internationally without ever having received a single client complaint! Semi-retired, here in Dunedin Florida, and without my accustomed wholesale resources, for thirteen years, as I accurately restored one historical residential property, and totally renovated two others in which I had invested, as well as helping other homeowners and investors with repairs and improvements to their properties, my one and ONLY, preferred, source for hardware and plumbing and lighting fixtures and such was Vision Ace Hardware in Dunedin....totaling countless thousands of dollars a year! Most employees in the hardware section knew me well, and the friendly and appreciative manager during the time I was in there shopping for needed hardware every day or two treated me SO well - often greeting me as I arrived and chatting about technical or material needs or even family issues - that my sense of loyalty to him and to the success of the store was intense and included letting him know when an occasional employee needed additional training or guidance or even correction when their advice was faulty or even lacking altogether. And then he moved on and his younger replacement, in stead of the usual appreciation and concern, was indifferent and even overtly rude and even turned and abruptly walked away while I was talking. The respect and welcome to which I was accustomed totally disappeared with no explanation. And I finally called him to ask what had changed and he told me straight out not to come back! WOW! I had NO idea how great a favor he had done me! Lowes is only several blocks away and they value my business and treat me SO well - and I have saved SO much money without giving up one hair of product quality or employee help and expertise, AND they sell lumber and finish trims that Ace does NOT have, that I only wish I had switched sooner! read more

Just had a great experience at this store - purchased a new light fixture and Matt went above and beyond, helping me find the correct replacement, putting it together, and testing to make sure it worked before I left the store. This is why I shop at Ace instead of the "big box" stores - the people there are always around when you need them, and always ready to help! read more

After being a customer at this location for the last 9 years, I WILL NEVER WALK THROUGH THESE DOORS AGAIN. This location discriminates against bikers and I am spreading the word! The checkout woman stopped me at the door and wanted me to leave my bag with her as I shopped. Though there were other women in the store, no one else was asked to leave their personal belongings. Did you ever think you create a liability issue should someone's bag get stolen while in your cashier's possession? Other places follow would-be suspects around the store. But you accuse me of being a thief just because I have a backpack? How many thieves have had a motorcycle helmet in one hand and a grocery list in the other? From now on, I will drive twice as far to your competition because of your stupid store policy and your cashier's lack of good judgement. As I spread the word, I'm finding others have been treated the same and won't go back. I hope your loss management department is counting the numbers of customers you're losing. YOU CAN'T TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS AND EXPECT THEM TO COME BACK!!! read more
